Basically the more I played with them, the more I realized they are indeed incredibly delicate like the Chikuhodo website says. These are not strong hairs!!

Oooohhh girl!!!! Welcome back!! Missing you and your videos 😘!! I have a question please. I wanna try one of the face brushes from the FO series. I’m tossing between FO-3 and FO-4. Which one do you recommend more? I feel like they’re doing the same thing but slightly different shape. Thank you for your input 🙏🏽. Lots of love 💕
@Sartika BS Thank you girl! Sorry for being MIA LOL. I'd say FO-3 if you want to use it for mainly powder and FO-4 for powder and blush! The FO-3 definitely feels airier and fluffier on the face due to the shape while the FO-4 applies blush better. Hard choice huh :)
Fude Kyun thank you for your input 😊. I’m gonna get the FO-4. I’m picking up one of the homare face brushes as well to try (KZ4). Are you planning on reviewing the homare series?

I LOVE THE DETAIL OF THIS VIDEO. And I thought the exact same thing! Right when I saw them at first I thought of EcoTool brushes too 😂😂 I keep going back and forth on these brushes. The FO series just seems so unique and one of a kind in terms of the bristles.
@maggyxchuu Thank you so much! I worked really hard on it :) Hahaha, glad I'm not the only one who thinks they look like EcoTools! The FO series isn't my cup of tea but everyone's different. I prefer Shou Shou Lang's red fox!
Lovely brushes, great video! I've just purchased FO5 which is the large eye brush on CDJapan last week. I've never purchased any fox hair brush before. Can't wait to feel the silver fox hair!

I have these and love the FO-1 for setting powder application. I didn't have trouble picking up plenty from my Mac skinfinish and it set and buffed the powder into my makeup well. It seemed as soft as squirrel but as good as goat for product placement for me.
Thanks for sharing! I definitely want to pick up a few pieces from this collection (for collector's purposes). I have the P-FO, which I LOVE because it is so round and dense. Per photos and your video, these are less dense than that brush, so I'm anticipating that these won't be favorites for applying makeup. I'll probably just use them for finishing as you suggested. Also, I'm not a fan of face brushes with longer hairs. I just WANT to try these, lol. For various reasons, I haven't really done my makeup in over a year. So.. I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on new fude right now.
Do you have plans to purchase any items from the Chikuhodo Kazan series? I'm eyeing the KZ-1, as it looks similar to the Z-1's shape (which I prefer to the oval Z-9 shape).
MysteereousMyssie You're welcome and thanks for your continuous support! Glad to hear you love the P-FO! I wanted to buy that one too but didn't get to. Yes, we have those brushes we buy for collecting purposes haha! I don't think this type of hair suits my skin type and preferences but they're very fluffy and nice to pet. Which ones from the FO line are you considering picking up? Regarding not really doing your makeup in over a year: don't worry about it! I totally understand. I don't wear makeup every single day either but it's always nice to go back to your collection and play with them along with makeup when you feel like it. Also to only buy new fude when something really catches your eye ;)
I'm deciding on the Homare line. Red squirrel isn't my favorite application-wise so I know they're going to be collector pieces too lol. The KZ-1 actually has an oval ferrule! They don't have a completely round powder brush in the line :( I was also considering the KZ-1 but the hairs are pretty long..
@@FudeKyun Oh no! I was really hoping the KZ-1 would be like the Z-1! I'll probably pick it up anyway.. eventually. I'm looking at the FO-3 and 4. Since they are on the larger side for cheek brushes (I have no cheekbones of which to speak), I plan to use them for setting my face. The FO-1 looks like a nice petting brush, though...
I thought of picking these up - mostly the angled F0-4, however, it is too big for my liking too and I wish it held the angle better. I would also like to pick up more product one time. Great review.
Thank you so much for this in-depth review! Despite them looking gorgeously made, I don't think I will purchase them. A brush that I have been using a lot recently during this crazy heat wave is the Hakuhodo S 105 for dusting on loose powder. But it also worked for me with Hourglass' Ambient Lighting Powder (Dim Light).

I don't think this type of hair suits my skin type and preferences but they're very fluffy and nice to pet. Ohh, the Hakuhodo S105! I used to own that one but it was too thin and airy for my liking. I'm glad it's working out for you. I played with some squirrel during the heatwave too and it wasn't pretty hahah. Need way more coverage when it's hot :)

Thanks for the review! I have the FO-1 and the FO-4 and I love them! I use the powder brush for powder foundation and I get a nice sheer result. I use the angled brush for brontouring. They give a really nice sheer result but it’s difficult to pick up baked products. I have the Z-1 and that brush picks up a lot more product than the silver fox brushes. I think I’m going to pick up more brushes in this line.
Filippa Olsson You're welcome! Glad to hear you love the brushes from the line! Agreed, the hairs don't pick up firmer products easily and they apply very lightly. They fluff up so much it's hard to grab product. Gray squirrel is better at picking up and applying products for me. Z-1 is amazing :) I'm not sure if I will make a video on the Homare series but we'll see!
Have you planned to do a video of the brushes in the Kazan series?
