    Just my 2 cents on wood gathering. At lower levels, I prefer the thorny dragon if its available on your map. They can be prime meat or mutton tamed much more quickly than the mammoth or beaver on berries/vegetables.

    All the gatherers I use on a daily haha. I do have to shout out for the Desmodus though and its ability to gather spoiled meat which paired with a stego and an equuis makes for the best narcotic team on the go.

    Stryder with the harvesting module for everything
    Mantis for nearly everything
    Magmasaur (for stone and metal)
    Tickle chicken for nearly everything especially fiber and hide, with the C attack they gather like 3 times the amount of hide and scrap metal(from tek creatures) that a rex can gather wich is super helpful late game to craft saddles from blueprints
    Moshcops also for nearly everything
    Mining drill even tho this is not a creature
    Megatheruims and dire bears are also great
    I didn't say anky and doedic, because the magmasaur gathers both metal and stone better than the anky and the doedic, but flint may be a problem

    • @MythicAce218
      @MythicAce218 2 года назад +1

      its generally easier to just use a angly or doedic since a magmasour is so big and i do my metal and stone farming separately plus my doedic is almost always FULL of stone and metal is too far to bring a magmasour all the way back home

    • @AdamGamingARK
      @AdamGamingARK 2 года назад

      @@MythicAce218 magmasaurs are much faster, they are big wich means bigger attack raduis, instead of an anky/doedic where you need to be so close to the rock so that you harvest it,
      Magmasaur is not slow like snails( I mean like ankys)
      Magmasaurs have more weight and can defend themselves very very well and most things don't aggro to them
      Also why having an anky and a doedic when you can have 1 creature that can do both thing,collects much more and in a much faster time in your cryopod, a pocket magmasaur in the inventory
      Also the most important thing, the magmasaur collect much more metal than the anky , like much more, just try a magmasaur and see how much it collects compared to the anky, and the magmasaur smelting metal is not that important because its slow but its a nice feature, if your crossbow breaks,you can uncryo the magma to smelt 8 metals into 4 metal ingot and repair the crossbow in the argy inventory if you are too far from home, and can't travel 5kilometers back and fourth, but other than that its not important

    Stego has been my fave dino for yeeeaaaars. I was so happy when they got the TLC and I was justified in taming them XD Always have one for berry harvesting, and I'm honestly considering breeding them up for boss fights too. The dismount immunity is pretty huge. Love my giant spiky lizard XD

    Great and fun video! Not only is an anky an easy early game tame (because it is so slow!), it also does well early game with crystal, obsidian and under-water oil rocks, because it is actually a decent swimmer. When I transition to industrial "age" and greenhouses, my anky always makes a come-back from neglectedly guarding the base...

    Procoptodon are the best at berries by far (and land traveling in general), but often forgotten.

  • @josephfuller272
    @josephfuller272 2 года назад

    Minor point here:
    Any creature that has a Tek variant spawns at a 20% higher level. That means, for most of us, a max wild level of 180 instead of 150. This saves a ton of time breeding for me.
    Tek stegosaurus are wayyyyy more common than rexes too. I play single player and like using the dinos I can find easily.

  • @scottw2317
    @scottw2317 2 года назад

    considering how early you can get a moschops plus they can tank most of the attacking dinos early (except in aberration, those pinning raptors make moschops particularly useless on that map if you are not careful). They have an excellent AOE compared to most dinos, they are very good at dealing with stealy birds though their lack of speed is poor against pegos.
    One of the best chitin harvesters meaning it is easy to make saddles for pterdons and argents early or for crafting cementing paste (yes the frog is better for this but it involves alot more to get).
    The moschops is also one of the few in the list that can be healed by using meat.

    • @theNomadz
      @theNomadz 2 года назад

      Plus having one in your pocket with maxed organic poly set, massively increases the poly when harvesting mantis, penguins & karkinos

    • @scottw2317
      @scottw2317 2 года назад

      @@theNomadz yes, early game is where they really shine but later game when hunting after large volumes of organic polymer they still do a great job. People also underrate the combat abilities of this dino since if not mounted it is a timid creature but if I get a moderately leveled moschops early, unless it is a rex or an alpha (or equivalent) or you get dismounted then moschops can generally hold their own in combat.

    When I need something that can carry the world on its back I swear by a basilisk. They're very good guard dog and mine have 5k and up on weight. And worst case scenario you can abandon your gatherer and go underground with the Basilisk to run from something if needed.

    I've always thought Theri's are the best when it comes to wood. The beaver's and the mammoths are good, but onec you get a few levels in the power harvesting on a theri's they get left for dust. I've had theri's get 1.0 to 1.5 k wood per tree, and the amount of rare flowers and mushrooms they can gather is off the charts. Yes, they're a pain in the caboose to tame, but worth it if you've the time and patience.

    • @AdamGamingARK
      @AdamGamingARK 2 года назад

      I am playing with single player settings off, and my theri has 2160 weight (after putting all levels into weight), so even without weight reduction, +2k weight after levelling many times, is more than enough, and you get things very fast then put them in the base and get another 2k weight of ressources

    • @gestaltdude
      @gestaltdude 2 года назад

      @@AdamGamingARK Even better if you've the capability and willingness to get a stacking mod, which usually has a built in weight reduction. They don't really do anything to change the game in any basic way, just makes the grind much easier.

    why you dont explain that stryder can also connect to a tek storage, so you can harvest from very far away from base and the reasorces that the storage selected will automaticly teleported to the storage

  • @darklingnz8017
    @darklingnz8017 Год назад

    I would much rather the Beaver over the Mammoth. My general harvest team includes a team of argy. I have 3-4 weight birds following a team leader that is mostly melee. I then have the team leader follow my argy while I carry my harvesters (this sets most of the argy pack further back so they don't swarm you when you stop). Some of them will auto harvest which is great but they only work to a % of the total weight. If your using S+ and have access to a basic transfer tool it gets even easier. Just set the harvester as the source before you start and every so often go first person view and target one of the following argy and offload. You can't carry a Mammoth in this manner but its one of the safest methods. Anything messes with you the Argy pack will wreck them (up to a point). The doed is also a great swimmer in a pinch!

  • @full8497
    @full8497 2 года назад

    So have your mammoth follow your therizino and get 10x as much wood visiting 1/10th as many trees. Also wondering if you know how to gather rare flowers with a therizino, and I'm not talking about those little patches on ragnarok. Walk your therizino up to cattails, dismount and it will harvest thousands of rare flowers in just minutes.

    • @josephfuller272
      @josephfuller272 2 года назад

      Icthyosaurus and Manta both have no knockback, so you can kill Eurypterids underwater without chasing them down. They don't have weight reduction for black pearls, but just about anything that can kill Eurypterids can harvest black pearls.
      I like Beezlbufos for black pearl farming. They're fast and get more black pearls than the other two tames, plus they do bonus damage to bugs.
