Research has shown our actions can influence our brain health and the risks of Alzheimer's disease. We need more research now into the effects of COVID on the brain. Information currently available points to a variety of significant issues both in the short and long term. What lessons can we learn from COVID to help brain health? Cyrus A. Raji, MD, PhD is an assistant professor of radiology and a principal investigator in the Neuroimaging Labs Research Center at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR), the academic radiology department of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Raji, also a professor neurology, serves as director of neuromagnetic resonance imaging at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology with research interests focusing on modifiable risk factors for dementia and the role of advanced neuroimaging in quantitatively tracking related brain changes. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

What a shame; the advice to overcome this horrendous condition is what we’ve been hearing- eat better, exercise, and get vaxxed. If that worked, more people would do that.
I’ve spent over a year working to research and understand this crippling condition to save my own life and I can tell you by far, it’s not this simple and treating systemic inflammation with the resulting effects can feel as if you’re absolutely dying first. Anecdotal evidence needs to be included in the research and as academics, we owe it to the public to properly educate in a way people can practically implement these practices to improve and save their lives.
If you’re reading this and looking for hope and answers, start doing your research on mushrooms, aloe juice, and systemic detoxification including the full “American Lifestyle” wrought with stress since COVID also attacks the nervous system, which isn’t mentioned here.
Good luck to the other long haulers on this journey. You can heal, but you need time, patience, and community support ❤

Thank you for your post. Long Covid is so difficult. I agree, if all it took was eating better and exercising we would be better by now. How can you exercise when you can barely walk and any exertion causes increased symptoms? It’s a catch-22. I have noticed improvements through trial and error but it takes a lot of error to find something that actually works. It’s been almost 3 years for me.

I get the intention of getting the injection is good but there’s a chance of a bad reaction just from seeing it from people including me. The risks may seem low but reports are being swept under the rug.

I am pretty concern the man is recommending the vaccine. Not to sure about that. My wife has been vaccinated and boosted 4 times. To date she has had Covid 4 times. Her cognitive abilities are declining everyday

I've acquired covid induced Parkinson's and it's worse than covid, luckily I have a medical degree and researched this so much I could have a PhD in neurology, there's a new class of supplements called neutropics that can fix almost every problem with our brains, including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, but especially psychological problems, nutritional deficiencies are the root of all brain health problems
