      Hikaru wonders why this Mustreader wants to play both sides, cuz he is no better than Kramnik in his logical reasoning and nitpicking when it comes to accusing someone of cheating if you look at his "IS HANS STILL CHEATING???" (all caps) video.

      At one point in the podcast, Kramnik dropped this weird take that the biggest issue with the chess community today is that everyone’s too close, too united, and afraid to speak their mind for fear of offending each other. Like, seriously? As if unity is some kind of problem for this sport, or as if the chess world isn’t already packed with people talking behind each other’s backs.

    Basic math why Kramnik can't pick a move and claim to expose cheaters in chess.
    Danny has ~200k games played. Let's say on average each game takes 50 moves and 20 moves are opening theory. This leaves 30 moves that can be questioned as a "non-human looking" move per game and 6 million moves total from all of Danny's games. I am surprised he could only find one...
    Obviously this CANNOT be used to expose cheaters.

    • @lollycopter
      @lollycopter Месяц назад

      Lately with my online chess, I've been experimenting with a mindset shift whenever I feel that my position is slipping away. I would ask myself "what would Stockfish recommend?" (*without* using Stockfish), and pretend I'm doing a game review where there is one move to save the game. This type of shift allows me to drastically cut down the amount of fear I have with an ugly position. Anyone who does enough game reviews will find that there are plenty of bad positions that can still be saved with precise play. There would be no way that I would have learned such moves without learning from Stockfish with each review.
      Additionally in blitz, there are moves that will confuse the opponent - basically following Finegold's basic rules including "always play bishop c8" and "always retreat". Quite often, they're not the best moves, but against humans, they're good. I find it absolutely incredible that someone like Kramnik doesn't know that basic rule like I do. It just goes to show how stuck in his old ways he is and hasn't been able to learn anything new since retirement.

He is just asking questions to clarify the many suspicions he has... Chesscom should be investigating the suspects... Some might be baseless but this one definitely has a base.. If you can easily use an engine while a game is going on with all those glances then he can also use it to get to 3200 while playing a 2900 opponent and even against Kramnik since everyone views his take as ridiculous.. Maybe not against Magnus but you never know... He also made everyone aware that Danya and Bortnyk farmed 1800s otb to get to 2700 otb in blitz which is interesting because he avoids world rapid and blitz

And he would do and say anything to undermine it. Power and control regarding attention is the issue. There is no reasoning with someone like this. They are a victim and it would be impossible for anyone to legit supercede them, i.e., the “opposition” must be cheating.

    one point agains "vy" vs "ty", I am not russian, but my native language is slovak, and using vy here is also sometimes used to separate from other party. its very unusual when both parties does not use same level, its especially used by politicians in public debates, when they want to passively signal that they distance from other party, even when they use "ty" in private communication. not sure if this is the case, I assume Danya never had non-formal relationship with Kramnik, and in that case its also normal, since its unpolite from younger/less relevant party to request using ty in communication.

    The problem is that he has made himself a vigilante. He makes many baseless accusations WITHOUT ANY EVIDENCE.
    And he acts as if he is the judge and jury, that must be satisfied.
    He is slandering many players, and damaging their reputations. He persecutes some. And then he claims that he is not accusing anyone.
