    • @itsthekid9815
      @itsthekid9815 7 лет назад +11

      i mean he didnt underachieve. he was the 3rd black starting quarterback. he actually overachieved for what people thought he was going to be. he was a playoff type of player nothing above that. people often overrate players because of the good they see but the bad no one ever takes about. i love Dnabb but he had so many flaws that top defensive personal knew how to exploit.

    4:40 I wouldn't call that excessive showboating. He doesn't know for certain how much time is left on the clock, they don't have it plastered big and everywhere like in the NBA. He wanted to make sure there's 0 chance for the enemy team to return a kickoff.

      Still blows my mind that AP did that in his rookie season. Chargers defense was damn good that year and they made it to the AFC Championship game and AP made them look silly. All time individual performance in my opinion.

    • @Sosaman66
      @Sosaman66 7 лет назад

      Chargers D WAS extremely good that season, but in that game injuries did them in. Quentin Jammer went out in the 1st half, then their best run-stuffing DE Luis Castillo went out early in the 3rd quarter. AP had 14 rush for 49yds before the Castillo injury, then 247yds on 16 rushes afterwards. 11 of his 30 rushes were for 2 or fewer yds, 9 of which came before the Castillo injury. AP did have a crazy good day, but was partly helped out by removing his biggest roadblock

    76 yards, longest for a td in the NFL
    Boy have times changed

    • @Bill_Woo
      @Bill_Woo 6 лет назад +6

      The announcer flubbed up, or perhaps he was thinking "by a QB." One of many, many examples of over 76 yards is 97 yards by Andy Uram of the Green Bay Packers in 1939. For QBs, Terrelle Pryor's 93-yard touchdown run against the Raiders was the longest touchdown run by a quarterback in NFL history (2013), breaking Kordell Stewart's 80 yarder in 1986 [EDIT: 1996, not 1986. Thanks for correction JC]. So it very well may have been the QB run from scrimmage record at the time of that video.

    Those are good but they are all relatively current videos, well at least all after the start of ESPN. In his first go round with the Vikings Fran Tarkington had a lot of plays like the clip of McNabb that were long plays too. They were pretty spectacular.
    Week one of 2009 the Broncos beat the Bengals on an 87 yard pass from Kyle Orton to Brandon Stokely. To run down the clock, when Stokely got to the end zone he made a 45 degree turn and ran the whole length of the end zone before going in for the score. As a Bengals fan I wish i could forget this, but it was the first play that popped into my head when I started watching this.

    Shows there isn't really a lot of sustained action in any NFL game. I've heard it reported that you could watch all the action from sap to whistle on every play in as little as ten minutes.
