After watching this, and your previous video i have to say, thank you for these FLAWLESS tutorials. So clear and straight to the point. idk how i stumbled upon your channel but i'm glad i did. It's fascinating how to some channels (like yours) are a free GOLDMINE, yet undetectable. Thank you...Hope you get the support you deserve for this quality of work!!

Hey mate! I really appreciate it! I appreciate the detailed feedback too. It’s quite nice to see that it is being put to a good use!
It has been on my mind to make more tutorials, especially about lighting, but it is on the back burner as I am running a scanning practice with my gf. Hopefully I can make some time for it soon.

Your style is so entertaining and informative, I hope you find time to make tutorials about lighting scenes both interior and exterior.

Thank you Sir! I appreciate it. With everything going on, it is difficult, but I have some ideas up my sleeve. And thank you for the topic recommendations!

hey there! nice video but i still have a question. What u explained works with tiles, concrete, maybe mosaic or stuff like this but what are u doing when it comes to brick walls for example? 10m long, 3m tall.. The bricks cannot change direction randomly. Is there an option to randomize the wall structure?
    Ty in advance!

Hey, apologies for the late response.
The short answer is that you can make parametric tiles (and therefore bricks) using the tile texture in place of the Colour map. But from my experience it is t the most straight forward option. When I needed to do this, I usually tile the texture, say, 4 times in Photoshop, do the changes I need there and I’m good to go. Usually the only thing I need to change is:
1 - The colour map - changing shades
2 - The roughness map - usually making some parts more reflective by painting with dark grey.
I know this isn’t the answer you were hoping for, but I hope it helps.

Would be able to use stochastic tiling with a wood veneer texture ? I’m trying to use it for a large wood tile

Hey, you can absolutely use it, but the reults will vary! The best way is to try it out and ses.Depending on how grainy the surfae is, it might not look great ;( But hey, the more you try the more you will know.

wonderful, i`m just sturggling with something similar, on an object with applied texture mapping in Rhino and was wodering if the (stochastic) texture would work on this kind of object ... so texture placement in Rhino, and afterwards borrowing material from VRAY applying it and ... have to check if it would work ... thanks ...

      Thanbk you Julian.
To answer your question, it absolutely works. Tbh, everything in Rhino already has a RHino mappting regardless. This purely manipulates the textures within V-Ray. I'm not really sure where something like this could become useful on an object considering they are small and the carpet effet is more common on very large and empty surfaces. At the same time, I can think of a few scenarios where it could be usefull.
      Cheers

@@danielkuzev4992 hahaha ok... so use is that texture mapping in Rhino is visual, you see what you do, and how you apply it. the idea is you make it in rhino, and afterwards you put the vray material and render in vray. if you understand me ... ruclips.net/video/17_M5ygXsx4/видео.html That one is from the SimplyRhino channel , is good explained , but what if i wont to apply vray-material ... I mean, I did it and it worked. but was a bit of a fight to understand that the texture shouldn`t have triplaner mapp in itself. The struggle in Vray is with objects that are bend, organic etc. Think of wood that is bent ... how are you supposed to apply a proper material in Vray on it ...

@@juliantodorov5702 Exactly. Mapping as usual in Rhino and then additional manipulation in V-Ray
