There are several stages to fibreglass. The process can be tricky and getting a good result on a consistent basis requires experience. If you choose to do a DIY job then I would have a practice first on a small scale piece and see how you get on.
It is going to be perfect for what we need and will be a big asset for the shop. The next challenge is to get the filters in and we can not compromise on it.
Plywood is perfect for this type of application. I have already done other tanks using this method. However maybe the confusion is arising from the possibility of fibre glass de-laminating from a smooth surface. That cant happen here, nor would it present a problem if it did.
Lee Calladine , it’s just we’ve had a bunded area fibreglassed at work and I was asking contractors about making a QT and they told me to use OSB as better for fibreglass to adhere too , but looking good anyway , looking forward to your next video , your videos are top notch 👍
Hi lee, question for you , so you apply one layer of resin first on the surface of structure, the second day you start laying fiber glass cloth on top of it then apply another layer of resin. after its done. you applied final layer of waterproof paint on top of it, correct? im thinking to rebuild my pond with fiberglass method to have the pond last forever. and it will solve leaching effect of concrete to pond!
Very nice neat job, well done
Thanks very much. Its really starting to come together now. But still a lot to be done so check out progress next week.
im thinking of building my own pond but i couldn't find a video on how fiberglass installs until yours. great video!

Great video lee
Thank you. Many more videos coming soon for you to enjoy.
Looking really good Lee , I noticed you used plywood I didn’t think that plywood was suitable to fibreglass on to and that it had to be osb

@@66koi You could you OSB no problem but i think you will get better finish on the plywood. De lamination will not be a issue.
Osb on roofs. On ponds the water pressure makes it irrelevant which you use

Oh and PS my best to you and yours
Nice to see it progressing well.
What are you doing about the ceiling/roof structure ?
The roof is stronger than it looks, but I know what you mean. We will be making some repairs, replacing some of the supports etc.
@@leecalladine Looking forward to the next episode.
