Seeing the coffins in great shape, after 100 years , gave a great sense of peace to the whole graveyard. 1700s stone still readable amazing! Thanks Sue for taking a 2 hour trip to bring this to us💕
Amazing video. Such a lovely place. I find it just beautiful the see. An old saying here said , i will then die when nobody speaks my name anymore. You just reading the names of the departed make them live again. Thank for this lovely video. Indeed worth a 2 hour drive❤
It’s so touching to see the remains of the flower tributes on top of the coffins. One is very green but, I know its from people who are also long gone. Rest in Peace.
That mausoleum on the inside: WoW!! All those listed on that one stone lived long lives, every one… Until the last a little baby died at only 6-weeks of age. 😢 Thank you for taking us to this amazing cemetery. God Bless you, as well, Sue. ❤❤❤❤ ✌🏼💜
I don't think I have ever seen a masoleum in such a clean state as this one. It's as if it was closed only a year ago and a very light dust has barely settled on the coffins. The coffins are in their own incredible condition. They look like polished oak caskets with beautiful handmade brass fittings. The China flowers and wreaths still looked very presentable. There was so little decay. The walls, floor and the inside roof looked swept up and neat. Normally if the outside has so much moss and overgrowth on top you would see it on the inside and that hasn't touched the inside at all. It also appears that there has been absolutely no water seepage or dampness to destroy the insides. Seven perfectly preserved tombs. I am sure they are resting in peace. What a delight to walk around the ruins, read so many headstones, and remember those from the distant past. Very old headstones indeed. You have so much history around you, it makes my heart yearn to live in this enchanted land. I love it more and more Sue. Outstanding video. See you soon! Much love, Janet XO ♥️ Merry Christmas, I will envy you! I will be all alone as Ryan is house and dog sitting. ♥️🎄♥️🎄♥️🎄♥️
What a beautiful sight walking up to the church and graveyard. The age of some of the headstones was incredible. The condition of the coffins in the tomb were in remarkably great condition, pretty cool. Thank you Sue.
my favorite part is your road there, what a gorgeous path leading to it. We don't often see areas this green and medieval looking with the natural surroundings..
Beautiful graveyard and church. Takes you back in time being able to spend a little time with these old folks. Thank you for taking us around with you. ❤
Private Havens headstone has a dragon very similar to the Welsh Dragon on it! It's sad to see all these folks have been forgotten, especially the veterans. Always love it when you find mausoleums for us to peep into, and the older stones. Thanks Sue. Take care and stay warm. Deb of Oz XXX
So good to see you guys again. I remember visiting this very place when my Mum and I visited Ireland too long ago! I can’t wait to come to Ireland again!
Thank you for this Sue. When you were looking through the door of the mausoleum there appeared to be an upright niche on the back wall on the right. It appeared to have something standing in it? The cemetery landscape is literally heaving with headstones. So sad that all these people are forgotten.
Good effort..by showing this, the years back bodies(coffins) can be viewed elsewhere around the world. By doing this great job the souls of the bodies may appreciate you and also you will be blessed..
Just love your videos sue the most relaxing and interesting on RUclips. Would of loved to seen the church in it's hay day such a shame , thanks for the video's ❤
I don’t usually use the word pretty when it comes to grave yards but this location was really pretty despite being overgrown. Thank you for bringing us along
Church was beautiful❤️Don't understand why they let them go to ruin. Amazing craftsmanship on the coffins❤️ Stay warm❤️ The coffin closet to the window looked like it had a family crest on it❤️
100% for such a crystal clear picture through such a tiny hole in that metal plate. May they all rest in peace and not be forgotten. Thank you for your video. ❤
Went to Jerpoint Abbey in Kilkeney about ten years ago. Whenever I look at the pictures of the headstonesI get goose flesh. Whenever I see old headstone I always thin of the song 'Elenor Rigby'.
YES! I totally agree, don't know how you do it Sue but you seem to pull out the stops every time, gr8 camera skills👍 Beautifully & Respectfully done, it's a credit to you...safe travels
A very interesting video, Sue. Thanks. Abandoned churches and churchyards are very sad places. I always wonder why they were abandoned. Possibly due to a declining congregation, which made the church not viable. The war graves commission headstone of private Havens of the East Kent Regiment is interesting. This regiment was called ‘The Buffs’ because the facing on their scarlet tunics was buff in colour. The pelican symbol on the coat of arms is an old Christian symbol. According to ancient legend, the pelican would draw blood from its breast by piercing it with its beak in order to feed its young. This was seen as a symbolic reference to Jesus, who shed his blood to save mankind. I’m a repository of useless information.
Love the old church looking up skyward. Don't usually see all that information/verses on grave stone's in the US. Usually just names and dates, my mom's had a beautiful Rose...
I…..LOVE THEM!!! That is the casket I want. The coffins here reminds me of a Twinkie…. New sub and love old cemeteries. Will visit soon!! Oh wow…gorgeous. Well kept. Incredible work! Thank you for showing this.
Another great tour! It was worth the drive. Love the peek into the mausoleum. Thank you so much! Was that really a butterfly, out in the cold wind? Maybe you saw a fairy?

That was a good look at some coffins. They hold up well. I don’t want too descriptive but in the huge mausoleums, where hundreds are interred, there can be unfortunate mishaps. The ruins of the church are really cool. I’m sorry it was tagged a bit.
My family was some crazy thing my English granny was catholic n my Irish granddad was Protestant. They both immigrated to Canada met married n my grandad met a lady whose husband owned a car factory she brought him to her estate to be her head Gardner.
Wow what a visit! Thank you. Like the seven coffins all in almost brilliant condition and at peace! We too in the old days seen a few overgrown! Good job you didn’t get hurt within the overgrown areas

Hello my friend

@@RedheadTales hello Irene how are you
I have not seen coffins that is so old still look so beautiful.❤❤
Very rare to see no damage at all
I am so envious of the history that lives around you in Ireland. It’s like being in a history book.
It is, I'd rather go into a graveyard than read any history book
My family left Cork in 1790 for Canada. They where Protestant so we did well in Upper Canada.
That's great timmy
Thank You for this video, Sue. Very beautiful indeed. It is heart breaking to see how many people died so young, their lives cut short. Tragic.
It is probably the hardest stone to read, that of a young life cut short, heartbreaking 💔
Interesting graveyard and cool church ruins. Surprised the coffins were in such good shape!
It's great to see them so well preserved

I'm sure they go through embalming process, we still get embalmed in Ireland so they body can be waked for a few days then buried under ground
