  • In this heartwarming video, watch as my loyal dog bravely protects me from a possible moose attack while snow shoeing in the arctic forest. The dog's quick thinking and bravery resulted in a successful diversion and a grateful man stuck in deep snow.. This is a true testament to the unbreakable bond between me and my best friend. I am so proud of him.

    Please give Kasper a big 🤗😘 from me for being on the mark and protecting you Simon! Wow, just wow! Those moose can do so much damage. Then the smaller cat like paw prints……what an experience all in one day. As others have alluded to in the comments take something to protect yourself…..what an adventure. Loves to you three, keep well and safe. ❤️🇦🇺🇸🇪

    🤠👍 Some 40 years ago, in the fall, I was looking
    for chanterelles in the Woods.
    I went around a big spruce and found my self staring into a Brown/greyish fur.
    I looked up, and high above me was a big head, with horns.
    I dropped my basket with chanterelles and run away.
    I looked back and saw the rear end of the Moose, running in the oppositie direction.
    It took me a while to get my heart back to it’s place.
    I understand your feelings at that moment.
    Take care. Stay safe.

      I would have done the same had I not been in deep snow and in snow shoes and 40 years younger. Like you say until you meet one face to face it is hard to describe how huge they are. I am pleased you survived that. I hope you went back for the chanterelles.

    Howdy Simon- very thankful for Kaspar doing his thing. I would imagine a moose could do some real damage. Where my oldest daughter lives the moose will come into town. I guess they feel protected and they get away with it. Glad you made it out safely. Take care and God bless

      Thank you Paul, I am all to aware more deaths are caused from Moose than Bear but up until now they have kept a distance from me. This was the first male I have seen here.
      Shame I did not film him to get a better prospective on the size, if Zeus walk the earth today he would be a moose.
      Take care Paul and be safe.

    Glad you weren't injured, ...... thanks to Kasper! I saw this suggested in an earlier posting but I also suggest that you carry a firearm, maybe a large caliber pistol, with you when you are out in the woods alone.

    • @arctic-rebel
      @arctic-rebel  Год назад +2

      Thanks Monte, I am not sure I would have used even if I were carrying, he was on me real quick and not really looking angry. Killing a moose here out of season and in the wrong place is a big deal and at the time the camera was not running, that can land you in prison real fast here.
      Anyway got away with it so all good.

    Those tracks are from the notorious deadly and bloodthirsty "svensk skogshare"🐰. The two big footprints in front are actually its back legs. Reminds me of a Volvo BM baklastare.. 🤔😂
    Be sure to give Casper a big hug from all of us and take a cup of coffee.😊

    Watch your back Simon even with pup and chainsaw! I’ve seen moose charge a guy with a running saw . They run blind and stupid. The cat keep an eye up about ten feet in the trees. That’s where they are and will pounce even on Kasparov from there . Walk with a walking stick 3” x 5.5’ knock a tree every now and then as you go. That’s what we did out walking in the woods it seemed to spook them long before we were to close to get cover. Take care Sr. Thanks for sharing hope you put clean shorts on and quit sharing yourself 😂😂 but 😒 next time.

      I always do Brad, but this was coming for me and nothing I could do was going to change it's mind, I could even feel the pain as he was closing in on me but then Kasper did his thing and everything changed. He already knew I was there is was no surprise I was in the open and he was in the tree's!

    It may be prudent to be armed, Simon. If that moose decides not to like you it could threaten your life. It seems like you're a long way from medical care in an emergency.

    • @arctic-rebel
      @arctic-rebel  Год назад

      That was the worst I have had to be honest, I was not armed and could not move and was sure it was going to trample me. Also the largest Moose I have had a 1 on 1 encounter with. Kasper was really the only reason I got away with that.
