Silver Siren Its great to see that you enjoyed it :) That's really all I wanted to achieve from making my videos...for people with like-minded interests to share and enjoy each others collections :)
AKoin47 I realize this is a reasonably old video. However, i noticed that you been replying to the majority of the comments. I was wondering if you could add in the description or reply to me on how/where i could get some coin holders/folders. It will be much appreciated. -Thanks
***** Hi Liam, thank you for being patient. The best place I recommend to buy 2x2's and holders is from a online shop called Colonial Acres. Its based in Canada and on every second friday, they have these deals that usually involved 2x2's for very reasonable prices. If you are looking for air tites, just type in air tites.com..they have the best prices. Hope this helped!
Owen I got the coins mainly through ebay, colonial acres and apmex...whenever i saw a good deal on any coins or bills, I would try to pick them up, i haven't tried coin roll hunting yet
@@AKoin47 Nice collection and great vid! However, I would NOT recommend Apex. They charge ridiculously inflated prices for common coins. Again, cool collection!
@@wwgapoo9897 really? I find for some coins, like the gold ones, they only charge about $20-30 over spot, which is pretty reasonable considering the historical value of the coins (150-200 years old).
@@AKoin47 Im not sure about the gold, but the coins are definitely overpriced. They are selling seated liberty half dollars for $24.99 when my LCS charges about half of that for the same condition coin. Maybe they are a good place to buy bullion, but certainly not a good place to buy collectible coins. Thats just my opinion
@@wwgapoo9897 Yes I agree that some of their coins are overpriced. My experience with them has largely been with the bullion, which I find is reasonable but I think for collectibles/numistmatic coins, they aren't the best.
WOW! That's an awesome collection. I am thinking about buying some coins just as a collection rather than buying up silver bullion like I've been doing lately. Good to have both probably. Thanks for sharing, very inspiring collection!
I’ve just decided to start collecting. I have bought some and they are being shipped to me but I was going through all my pennies and the ones my parents had and based on what I found online, they are all possibly worth something? Is there anyway to tell if they are?
Canadian or American pennies? Either way, you can simply search them online. Put in the penny, date and any other markings. I confess I don't know about pennies specifically.
Hard to estimate. It depends on the buyer and how it's being sold. I actually have not gone and counted it up (mainly because I will never sell these) though I have kept all the receipts in various places for my own records. The silver and gold content alone is pretty substantial (maybe around 5G) but again I have not gone and actually counted. A lot of these coins are 300-400 years old so they have quite a bit of numismatic value which again is hard to estimate because it depends on the buyer and market. I invested in this mainly because I want to observe how they appreciate in value over the decades and I think it would be pretty cool to pass this on when the time comes.
That's nice of you :) Any coin collection, big or small, is special in its own way. I love the collection I have now but I still remember that feeling when I was first starting out and having a small collection (it's weird but you value the coins more when you have a smaller collection).
Very nice collection, I believe it expanded since two years :) how do you choose which case you will use ? There are some paper ones, rounded cases, square cases .. and what notes that you put it on the paper ones ? Bests
Hey, thanks! Honestly I'm a bit random when it comes to how I store my coins - I have taken the most care with the gold ones and old silver coins as they are the most valuable and have put them in air tites (each costs like $1 so I can't afford to do it with all my coins) - alot of the coins you see in the plastic 2x2's came that way so I decided to just leave it like that - I picked up the square cases for my valuable silver dollar coins (I believe they were on sale when I bought them so that's why I chose those over the circular air tites). In terms of paper ones, what are you referring too?
Thanks for your reply. I am a bit confused which cover for whoch type of coins. Thats why I wonder if you have spesific preference or just random. Mostly I use paper and put them into albums where are plastic, but not comfortable for long time effect
Thanks for the video! I have a question: how do you maintain a database of your collection? I'm sure you can tell a lot about each coin, but nevertheless what software would you recommend me as for a novice collector? thx
Artur Welc Hey, I guess I use a lot of different sites, basically whatever I can find online. I simply type in the internet as much detail as I can about the coin and see what comes up. That's what I do in terms of researching about my coin. In terms of a database, I don't really have one (I don't use any software). I used to look at them pretty regularly though, so I guess they just got engrained in brain :)
AKoin47 Hi, thanks for your reply! A whole week was gone for reading different websites :) In fact, today we can find a lot of useful and new information for collectors in the Internet. As a result I choose the program LignUp multi collector for my Mac, I'm sure you have seen this program before. I will leave here, maybe it would be useful for someone. It is very handy software for beginners.
If there is 0.6 oz in a dollar and 0.3 oz in a 50 cent piece, I'm gonna guess that the 25 cent piece has 0.15 oz, that the dime has 0.06 oz and that the silver 5 cent piece (the ridiculously small one) has 0.03 oz of silver.
+TheHaibao123 yes, each coin is 80% silver...I know the dollar has 0.6 ounces and the half dollar has 0.3 ounces for sure...for it to mathematically make sense, then the amount of silver content must follow a pattern so yes thats correct.
TRUL LUL I got most of mine from Colonial Acres and APMEX...I cherry picked some (like the colonial ones) off of Ebay..some really great deals out there ;)
great video bro I love Canadian dollars Crown coins the the Canadian dollar with the canoe if you want to trade for some United States constitutional for some of yours if you have extra let me know but you have a great collection my friend and I subscribe and definitely like
Cool man, thanks for the subs :) - I don't really have any extra Canadian Crown dollars right now but if I get some in the future, I'll keep this trade in mind.

***** Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it :)
Totally and my pleasure, I love seeing strong stacks!! More stacking means more positive pressure on metal prices!!!!!
Nice man, quite a bit of silver you got there. Love those canadian gold coins and the fair well to the penny coin.
Thanks man...the canadian gold ones are my favourite too :)
Love the silver. Rock solid investment. Especially in these turbulent times. Love the numismatic coins as well. Very nice

How much do you think it would all be worth
1- at face value
2- actual value
