    Get The How To Make Candles Ebook 📖🤍www.baroquecandleco.com/produ...
    Here are a few easy steps
    Steps 1: Create a brand, these includes; logo, colors, style, even culture. This can change but will be a good place to start, feel free to check out / baroquecandleco to see how we took Baroque style art and added it candles!
    Step 2: Create a website, we highly recommend using a template builder, like Shopify, Woo Commerce, Wix, or any that don't involve actual coding!
    Step 3: Pricing, how much should you price your candles? This is very subjective, but you should always follow the formula given in the video, 3X COST OF GODS SOLD ≤ Perceived Value
    Step 4: Post your product. How should you create content for your candles? It's not black and white, but you should post content that is in the direction of you brand? example: if you candles are made for relaxation, post visual depictions of you candles helping people relax, or in a relaxing setting!

    Good god, some of the comments! Kind of awful that there are some people criticizing what she said. If there's a will, there's a way. YOU CAN start a business with a $100. Did she say she started shipping right away? Could she have done extensive research and only purchased wax/fragrance/wicks specifically listed to work together? Upcycled materials she already had access to? Sold to her friends and family to recoup start up costs? Taken preorders and/or deposits upfront from selling local? Good god. Some of you woke up green with envy and it shows.

    • @thedoubleboiler6971
      @thedoubleboiler6971 Год назад +8

      I want to be transparent here. The LLC and trademarking together will be $500. Then if you want to talk performance and testing for scented candles, that's going to be anywhere between $500-$2000 for materials and supplies. (At least it was in my case) Then check your state website. For me I need a sellers licence ($10) and to have a "certificate of good standing" or in Wisconsin, certificate of status, in order to open a business bank account to accept credit cards (you can get away without this step if only selling in person and taking cash for a while) and you're going to need a POS (Point of Sale) system in order to accept credit cards and a credit card processing companies to handle the transactions (square is a popular start, but there are many options). You'll also want to look into Candle insurance and small business insurance and a place to keep a track record of all of your sales, expenses, profit, loss and for pricing I go with Cost of Goods X2=wholesale Cost of Goods X4=retail as a place to start and adjust accordingly to your comfort zone in order to build your brand. I would also look for local candle/ soap making suppliers and to buy in bulk to lower your price. (A 45lb bag of wax will cost around $95 plus shipping, unless you pick it up from the warehouse for example).
      Again, everyone is different, but this was my case. I highly recommend converting a presto Pot into a wax melter (around $50 in supplies from Walmart and Home Dept, but you will need the presto Pot, a metal/ brass spout 1/2In diameter as you deal with wax around 206°F. JB weld putty able to withstand heat hup to 300°F because you'll never need to go that high and the one made for steel is the best way to go. Then you'll need a drill and to drill a guide hole with a small bit for your hole drill 3/4in diameter and a file)....I'll just make a video when I make my next one, or head to Stanley Handcrafted. He has a wonderful example of this and it's where I learned. I also recommend Memory Box Candle Co., Boss Vision, Calafia Candle Co and Black Tie Barn.
      If you want to stand out, focus on quality. Think of the long term and what it would take for your customers to not only return, but look for your brand.
      With that said, get your product out there. We tend to be perfectionist, so if you can make a.candle that is safe and performs well, then people with buy. I've been selling in person so far and am working on a website, but local word is spreading.

The thing I've realized is, I'm using candles as a start and building my brand more so around the name. The art is what I really want to sell (although the candles have good reviews) it makes me look further and think of other products. Lately though, I've been dealing with a bit of "bad weather" on a personal note (marital issues) and it's given me quite the spell of depression. I really hope it clears up soon. Anyway, I wish us all the best of luck. You, me, anyone reading and hope to see your brand name out there soon.

    as a candlemaker this is so frustrating. you mentioned more ‘testing’ of different fonts on labels than on the craft of MAKING candles. candle making requires so much testing to craft a quality, safe product. it is not a cheap entry level craft. the kits are meant to play with as a hobby and you should not just open a candle business after making one candle. it spits in the face of the makers of the craft.
