    That startup put a big smile on my face :D Would love to see it restored, reminds me of the old 1979 slope back RTSs they had here in cleveland.

      It's been discussions for years but it may pick up pace. They'll have to replace the brakes and switch it to electric start-up (as oppose to the current air compression) but once those are fixed... anything is possible

    I love the fact that they kept this coach due to the fact that it has the first generation, piggyback HVAC unit for an RTS. But but they really should have saved an RTS TURBINE Cruiser. Look that up!

    Last time I saw this it was at the Eastern Division and still had the blue stripes. I assumed that they got rid of it since it was gone. Until I saw it again in a previous video. Did they keep any of the Neoplans? At lest one of the repowered ones?

    • @MJofLakelandX
      @MJofLakelandX  3 года назад +5

      Neoplans weren't preserved. Most likely because they were retired & yeeted away before anyone could save one. Eastern were the last to keep ahold of their's, but; as mentioned, they were sent to the grave too quickly once Link started. The D40LFs were gonna suffer the same fate before their useful life

    I remember commenting on this bus 3 or so years ago. How has it been in it's new location? Did Also did the odometer roll over, 963.6 miles?

    • @MJofLakelandX
      @MJofLakelandX  7 месяцев назад

      The bus is still in that spot and luckilynot scrapped. Also, the odometer rolled over 30 years ago.

      Oh I see. They put only 5 digits instead of 6. Thought this was a million miles bus for a moment. Must’ve roller over many times over 100,000 miles.

    Very Nice! When was the last time this bus ran before this recording was done?

    • @MJofLakelandX
      @MJofLakelandX  3 года назад +3

      It probably ran multiple times but the last anyone remembers was 2008 or 2009

      That bus fired up at least it can do that but hopefully they can plan and restore it we got one in Miami that fires up but it is very Smokey with that 6V92TA

    • @MJofLakelandX
      @MJofLakelandX  3 года назад +4

      @@john2011jb There have always been discussions about doing it but it flip-flops throughout administrations. This here is a good sign though. The next step is to change the brakes from the wedge design (illegal to have them nowadays) to disk brakes; as well as, getting the bus to run on it's own power cos it can only run via airline from the tug's generator.
      We'll see but most likely the bus isn't going anywhere

      @@MJofLakelandX At least it has retired as a shed and a jukebox. Nice to hear it running, saw a video of this a while ago doormat. Also I never heard of Wedge breaks before, the more I learn.

    I wonder how long the bus was sitting? It started real easy

    • @MJofLakelandX
      @MJofLakelandX  7 месяцев назад

      It was sitting in that one spot for about 15 years. It participated in a roadeo in 2008/09 (only recording of it moving), but it just needed new batteries & air to feed into the starter. The wedge brakes shot tho
