Why Does the Governing Body Hide Material From Jehovah's Witnesses?

- During the 2023 annual meeting of Jehovah’s Witnesses, governing body member Jeffrey Winder revealed that everything that the Watchtower society has written in their publications since 1879 is available for the governing body to research. But this is not the case for the average witness. Why is the Watchtower magazine only researchable online back to 1950 and the Awake magazine only back to 1970?
If previous publications such as Studies in the Scriptures, The Harp of God or The Finished Mystery were so instrumental in causing people to recognize the truth at that time why are they no longer available?

do not give moral men in a corporation control over your family and you. Learn the law where you live, pay taxes be a good citizen and good neighbor, the rest of this by religion is NOT necessary!
Agreed except that these men who run Jehovah’s Witnesses are not moral men. They hide child abuse. They hide their history of false prophesies. They destroy families with their evil shunning etc.
How many thousands of tons of ‘old light’ occupy landfills, bookshelves and boxes? For the sole purpose to convince listeners and readers to question and doubt their belief system? To convince them that the one hope, one faith and one baptism their leadership entertains does not apply to you or I. Substituting a dedication vow baptism to be God’s friend is NOT the gospel Jesus Christ preached.
Because they have much to hide.😊
This is by far one of the best channels I've come across. I love how you use their own speeches and arguments from other videos to show how they contradict themselves. I'm pretty sure that requires a huge amount of time and research and I really appreciate that, you should be getting a lot more views and recognition. I want so many witnesses to wake up and I know your videos will help a lot with that. Keep it up!
Additionally, touching the matter raised by Mr Blowfish, here are a couple of Watchtower quotes in which Watchtower covers its tracks, "The apostle Paul was spearheading the Christian missionary activity. He was also laying a foundation for a work that would be completed in our 20th century." (Watchtower, Jan 1, 1989, p.12). Here is the cover-up quote,

Ben Foard's explanation of the 'personnel' levels of accessibility to the old literature, reminds me a little of the 'without charge bricklayer's' secretive and shady shenanigans.
Nothing is hidden. Outdated older books go out of print, but that doesn't mean you can't have them in your own Library.

100% WT is changing *current* magazines and not noting changes *or* historic changes. They 100% have the ability to have a "change log" or "history of modifications", but choose not to. That is a red flag for everyone. Even the Christ was open about him taking down the law covenant, while not erasing it!!!

At 6.04 relating to the matter Mr Flodin raised: the Governing Body wrote this, "All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the 'greatly diversified wisdom of God' can become known only through Jehovah's channel of communication, the Faithful and Discreet Slave." ("The Bible - A Book Meant to be Understood"; The Watchtower, October 1, 1994, pp4-8; p8)
They also wrote this (I particularly like the snotty remark at the end), "Jehovah God has also provided his visible organization, his 'faithful and Discreet slave', made up of spirit annointed ones... Unless we are in touch with this channel of communication that God is using, we will not progress along the road to life, no matter how much Bible reading we do." (Watchtower December 1, 1981 p.27)

They are in connection with the Masons. When I was a believer, it was one reason why I stopped believing in their beliefs. Their old magazines had the same symbol that the Masons use and the GB wear Masonic rings on their right hand. Especially Stephen Lett.
My question also is why won't you allow others to make their own decisions based of on what you the governing body says and what apostates as they call it says?Unless you are manipulating people and not allowing them to use their own will to make their own choices

The witnesses follow false prophets and I does matter to the person you answered because they claim to be the truth. I agree if your the truth explain yourself. All they ever say is well we never claimed to be inspired or infallible. Yes they do claim to be inspired in fact the whole denomination requires it the year 1919 was the year that Jesus returned in his invisible presence and chose the witnesses as the wheat. Even though the Bible states that when the wheat is harvested the weeds would be cast into the fire so I wonder what lie they use for that explanation.
@@scrapnel1687 I think Jesus indicated in the wheat and weeds illustration that he did not expect the body of Christ to stay united. But where ever two or three genuine disciples are gathered together he would be with them.

Thankfully I could grab many of the books from my great grandparents library. And have all those books who no one in my family cared for but to be displayed in our huge study room shelves. It’s incredible the mindset of Russell compared to how things changed with Rutherford and my purpose to find where all the beliefs I was taught as a child came from.
I have come across the truth about the truth finding out where the beginning of the many false hopes and beliefs we as JWs have today. Impossible that God or his Holy Spirit would have make them understand or believed what they wrote.
Because God and his Holy Spirit do not make mistakes but it was just were mere wrong doctrines and interpretations made by men. I’ll do better researching and reading the Bible on my own completely free from the JW false doctrines. I feel betrayed! And it’s not apostate lies as they usually blame it to but throughout research on their own publications that woke me up.

Kenneth Flodine sly way to try to avert what Russell taught (& Russell DID continuously teach that no one could understand the Bible alone w/o his literature) was passed down leader after leader. So even if he cherry picked that one WT from 1910, carefully choosing a particular sentence, the fact is the organization still teaches u can’t understand the Bible w/o them ‘til this day.
The Organization has always been good at telling half truths, or purposely taking things out of context. I would’ve thought when that annual meeting came up, and it was said these men use their OWN literary from 1879 to present to examine doctrine, that would’ve woke up many. Unfortunately, it did for some, but many r still just nodding.
Maybe they didn’t even get the point, that the “old light” rhetoric is just a con.

This articles probably came out to throw stones to Raymond Franz who was removed from the GB and later unjustly disfellowshipped for going against their tyrannical doctrines. He had exposed them for how they really were and started to have small Bible studies with a circle of friends showing that it is not necessary to belong to an organized religion. Jesus said where there are two or three in his name there He is.
WT needs to address Number chapter 13 esp that last verse. It’s hiding this important reality from JWs.

Many old Watch Tower books and publications can be found online, I purchased some paperback copies and others through used bookstores, used buy and sell platforms, and even public libraries.

I read the Harp of God and wondered how anyone in their right mind would recognize the truth from it. It is full of absolute nonsense. It quotes Nahum 2:4 saying this was a prophecy about the invention of the steam engine. I laughed. If something nearly caused me to turn away from the JW's in the early days of my studying it was this book.

So since his glorification along side his God and Father he can no longer be seen by men. Only resurrected believers who have been rewarded with the same superhuman perfection he has will literally see him.
Mark ch.14:62NIV"“I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”" Regarding the mighty one whose right hand he will be "seen" at the Bible tells us plainly that mortal men can NEVER See him Exodus ch.33:20 and of course he is a spirit so he has no literal hands right or otherwise see John ch.4:24

@@preachfromthehousetops2167 I can't say for sure I note that since his ascension his appearances have without exception been visionary,and that those visions have all been characterized by an abundance luminescence. So based on that it does not appear that assuming a human form is an option, also psalm 110 vs1. Says that he is to remain at his God and Father's side until all his enemies are put under his feet, so whether he could resume human form or not he is not going to .

I would think it strange if it were not possible for him given that he had been granted authority and a position even higher than angels. guess it all depends on what he deems necessary in order to interact with humans.

All of JEHOVAH'S People understand that there have been refinements to our understanding of holy scriptures it is lie to claim that the GB have attempted hide this fact. The brothers have never claimed prophethood or sainthood or infallibility. Foe instance with regard to 1914 the January 1908 Watchtower writes:"We are not prophesying; we are merely giving our surmises . . . We do not even aver that there is no mistake in our interpretation of prophecy and our calculations of chronology. We have merely laid these before you, leaving it for each to exercise his own faith or doubt in respect to them"

Thank you for the quote. I was able to verify that it is accurate. There are many instances where writers of articles in The Watchtower denied infallibility or having been inspired. For example Russell also wrote on page 3821 of the July 15, 1906 issue of Zion’s Watchtower: “ No, dear friends, I claim nothing of superiority, nor supernatural power, dignity or authority; nor do I aspire to exalt myself in the estimation of my brethren of the household of faith except in the sense that the Master urged it, saying, “Let him who would be great among you be your servant.” (Matt. 20:27)
However, he did later go on a few sentences later to refer to himself as God’s mouthpiece: “No, the truths I present, as God’s mouthpiece were not revealed in visions or dreams, nor by God’s audible voice, nor all at once, but gradually, especially since 1870, and particularly since 1880. Neither is this clear unfolding of truth due to any human ingenuity or acuteness of perception, but to the simple fact that God’s due time had come; and if I did not speak, and no other agent could be found, the very stones would cry out.”
One has to wonder how he received these truths if it were neither by divine intervention nor human ingenuity? To this day the governing body maintains the same ambiguity when they say that the faithful and discreet slave is neither inspired nor infallible and can err while at the same time claiming to be guided by God.
But the video does not deny that the organization tries to hide the fact that there have been adjustments. The question is why do they not make the entire history of those adjustments available for witnesses to research today? They no longer produce reprints of The Watchtower and discourage their members from researching on the internet outside of what they produce themselves as spiritual food.
Yes, but at the same time DEMANDING strict obedience to what they term as a surmise, which by definition means not having necessarily the evidence to substantiate a matter thats often dogmatically stated.
@@preachfromthehousetops2167 I have every article ever printed by the Watchtower society and I'm not unique, in fact even publications like the Bible examiner magazine I have every issue of as well . The implied subtext of your claim is that the brothers are trying to hide their fallibility. Our faith is founded on our personal study of the Bible each brother has personally studied the scriptures and with the benefit of hindsight we can see the emergence of a clearer picture of JEHOVAH'S personality and agenda. What my research has shown to me is that the foundation laid by the society's founders remains in place ,the vast majority of the adjustments deal with the interpretation of prophesy which the scriptures show has always been a gradual pitfall ridden process even for inspired prophets.

Another thing the average kingdom hall library is likely to have a lot of those older publications you people keep insinuating the brothers are attempting to hide.
