You got a few small yet important details wrong in connection to The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints (Mormon), though there are a few very different groups called Mormons. First off, Joseph Smith Jr. wasn't told by God the Father nor Jesus Christ to find Golden Plates, that was a few years later by the Angel of God named Moroni. Joseph Smith Jr. did not write The Book Of Mormon, or even dictate it, he dictated the translation from the Golden Plates that God gave him power to understand. And it wasn't his friends with Joseph Smith Jr. who practiced polygamy, like Abraham, Jacob, Moses and David under the permission and guidance of God, only those called by God could practice polygamy in this church, and were free to refuse like any other calling. During the 50 years or so that polygamy was practiced, only 5% of men, and 25-50% of women were involved. Anyone practicing without being commanded by God were Excommunicated from the church if they didn't repent. Joseph Smith Jr. only took on political positions as needed, until his run for President, campaigning to end Slavery, the first religious leader in America to publicly do so. "Mormons" settled most of the Western United States of America.
This is a fantastic video! I was raised very casually Mormon and my immediate family converted to Jehovah's Witnesses later on. So glad to be free from both cults, and it's fascinating to learn more about both
please don't misuse the term cult. cults are full of only evil and both these religions are full of people trying to help others. look at that actual cults and you will see that neither of these fit the bill.
@@twipo912 I do not use the word cult lightly and I am correct in using it here. Even the more well known cults like Johnstown were also full of people simply wanting to do good and find truth. That's how abusive control works. The followers are victims, used as pawns to spread the influence of the abusive, bigoted and even violent leaders. I will not sugarcoat my words about cults, not after all the suicides, human sacrifices (via refusal of blood transfusions), traumatizing LDS wilderness camps and even the murders.
It is the only one where the first presidency in quorum of the 12 apostles meet weekly. So I would pretty much say that would make it the "Main" temple. I understand what you're saying in that they claim that each temple resides The ability to perform the same ordinances and has the same authority to do so, yet with I believe only one other Temple having a holy of holies, and it being the only one that all the leaders meet in on the constant basis, I would call it the main one. But just my opinion
@@calvo1002I’m not sure if such a thing is. In function at least. Catholics have the St Peter’s Basilica in Rome f.e., which is significant, but in function or ecclesial hierarchy it’s not different from any other basilica in the world. Just that it’s the most iconic+where the pope lives. Same with the Salt Lake City Temple.
The Salt Lake Temple is actually the "main" Temple in the sense that it is the only one that has a "Holy of Holies", is the only one where live endowment sessions are preformed, and the only one where the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve meet. It was also, for a time, the only place where Second Anointings were performed.
I'm LDS so can't speak from a JW point of view but I found your video impartial and pretty accurate in most places. You also done a really good job of lacing it with a bit of humour too. Thank you for posting.
The thing active members of LDS should keep in mind: There's Two histories in the Mormon Church. There's the "official history" that the modern day leaders put out in their teachings, books, videos, etc. AND THEN there's the true history of events. Only in the past 20 years has the "official church history" started to include yesterday's anti-mormon lies such polygamy, Adam-God Doctrine, Racism, etc. So when active members come on comment boards and say "Well, you got most correct" You have to ask, is the active member only referring to the modern "official narrative" put out by the church? Non members will often look at what the current historic record shows which has conflicts in the official history. So I'd be interest in what this commenter means when they say "Accurate in most places" and give us some example found in this video.
@@gabby-ue8sh No, they weren't. Also, if you are a fellow Christian, you should find nothing wrong with the statement "submit to Christ." That is, unless you think man-made structures are of a higher authority than God himself.
a small point in the video, but the way you touched on the mormon heavenly mother opened my eyes. my mom always told me that we dont speak of her because if we did people would use her name in vain, but if that was true, why wouldnt we do the same for heavenly father? none of it makes sense anymore. i cant wait to leave.
God bless you. Gtfo of that nonsense asap. I hope you find Christ for real and not the heretical nonsense made to scam dumbass peasants and losers in the 1800s
Yes, that's a common 'reason' people within the Church of Jesus Christ can hold - but it is something of an old wives tale. To quote Elder Renlund: "Very little has been revealed about Mother in Heaven, but what we do know is summarized in a gospel topic found in our Gospel Library application. Once you have read what is there, you will know everything that I know about the subject. I wish I knew more. You too may still have questions and want to find more answers. Seeking greater understanding is an important part of our spiritual development, but please be cautious. Reason cannot replace revelation." Hope that helps! I find the Gospel to make a lot of sense, so if you want to talk out any other issues you see I'd be happy to. Either way, have a good one!
In the words of Jesus Christ the living. "If your leaders say into you, see the kingdom of God is in the sky, then the birds of heaven shall precede you. If they say into you see the kingdom is in the sea! Then the fish shall precede you. Rather the kingdom is within you and it is without you.
And not only that but according to mormo theology, although mother of Mormon Jesus, she's just one wife to the ''heavenly father'' as he has multiple other wives.
At time stamp 21:50 minutes the children sing about going to Bethel. The children sing happily, the music is upbeat, and it is called the happiest time they had. Of course, it is the only non preaching vacation a JW family will ever have. For JWs, even if they can afford a vacation, which most can’t because they are suppose to live “modestly”, giving all they can to the organization, they are required or requested to check in to the local congregation in the area they go to,so they can continue with the weekly meetings and preaching work which is to maintain their good standing in the organization. They are never able to get off the hamster wheel, which is a control measure for these high control cults.
orthodox christian here. Generally we consider neither mormons nor JWs christian because their doctrine is so divergent from christianity. Been enjoying the videos, thank you for suffering through all this for us!
ex mormon here, believe me the deeper you dive into mormonism the less Christian it gets 😅. Their really just a polytheistic religion lossly based on the bible. Ironically Jewdaism and islam feel more Christian. Mormons who say they're Christian usually dont really understand orthodox christianity, and like their core attributes. Its not just about the trinity. So very valid my dude.
It does look kind of weird from the outside when various different groups that call themselves Christians are always saying that they are the only true Christian church and everyone else isn't Christian. It doesn't show a lot of unity. There is a hymn that goes "we pray that our unity will someday be restored".
@jaimetolley2375 most Christians are actually polytheistic as well, although they would never accept that title. There's no WAY they'd accept a label that's also used for those "silly" mythological religions lmfao
@jacobtamminga5560 believing that the trinity is made up of 3 separate entities who serve different purposes/are in a hierarchy of sorts. It's not all denominations, but its quite a few of the more common ones
I'm an atheist (raised Lutheran) and it doesn't bother me at all when the LDS missionaries show up on my porch 😊 But for some reason, the JWs make me livid and I've never been able to figure out why. I think it's because the LDS guys show up like mid afternoon to early evening and the JWs show up at like eight on Saturday morning. Anyway, great video, thank you!
Every LDS/Mormon I've interacted with has been nothing but pleasant, but the Jehovah's Witnesses have been the complete opposite. A good friend of mine had neighbors who were JW and they were always rude, hostile & standoffish and rarely speak to anyone outside of the JW Church.
As an ex Mormon, if you don’t want to hear them talk, I beg of you please talk to those boys about video games. They aren’t allowed to participate in any media or hobbies not related to the church for two whole years. Asking them what video games or movies they liked at home will remind them they have a personality outside of the religion.
Ex-mormon, once got punched a in the back on my mission by a guy that thought we were the JW's that had been knocking on his door early in the morning lol
The JWs know that preaching door to door is extremely ineffective, they still force their members to affirm the image that outsiders are rude and evil. The Mormons actually do much better at converting people.
As a catholic tbh mormons are not that bad(there may be some) my friend is lds, she cool & me and her would always have conversations abt our religions & we would blow each other's minds from what we learn from each others religion.
As an exjw its always interesting to find out info on other cults so it would be a fun to see more videos on this theme. Keep upp the good work Panda.🤘
At 19.54, you mention the beauty of Mormon Temples. The beautiful temple in Oakland, CA has a very unique feature: It is the only temple with 5 spires. High up in the Oakland hills, this temple provides spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay area and I visit several times a year on clear days and nights. Watching 4th of July fireworks from up there is a special treat.
They won’t show up at my doorstep uninvited. They do get nervous about the “No trespassing” signs in the middle of nowhere and a half mile from my house (which cannot be seen from the road). We’ve had Mormons over due to a family member being one of them.
I don't know, I've been in service quite a lot in the rural areas and most of them couldn't give a sh!t about a no trespassing sign. A driveway or sidewalk is public access. Now, opening someone's gate is a different matter, I'll grant that.
@@Eric_01 So far I’ve had them write letters, but nobody has walked past 2 cattle gates into an area that’s potentially having people live there in the middle of nowhere. I’d be tickled pink, but they won’t stop here.
Fantastic video, I grew up LDS (Mormon) and can see you did a lot of studying to get your facts accurate. the only thing I would say is in regards to the leaders of the LDS church. they see themselves as human and make mistakes often. not a lot of people think that they are infallible there are a few weirdos that believe they are mistake less but that is very few. other then that Ima subscribe because you did a fantastic job explaining a unique religious culture without bashing or degrading.
I was raised Mormon , served a mission, served in leadership and was married in the temple . Being raised Mormon was a great way to grown up. I think being raised JW is much harder and isolating.
@David19746 Not because we believe that the bible is less legitimate fundamentally, we just believe that the book of mormon is a more pure and true version of the gospel as it has been translated from one record one time (according to our beliefs)
@@paulaward2075go watch a leaked temple video. If you’re still thinking about it, I don’t know what to tell you. Also the only people that go to “hell” in Mormon believe are apostates or ex-Mormons. It’s a friggin cult dude
@@cipmaster1 yeah kinda true. at least JWs are still technically monotheistic whereas Mormons are kinda henotheistic (actually also Tritheist since they believe the Trinity are separate gods)
I live a 5-minute drive from Kirtland, where the first Mormon church is located. I'm aware of at least two Kingdom Halls nearby, which take about 2-3 minutes to reach if I catch the traffic light. Interestingly, I've never come across another Mormon church in this area. I just checked, and it turns out the closest one is a 20-minute drive away, followed by another that's 30 minutes away. All I’m gonna say about the JWs out here is they could very easily be a part of our community. They are very close to our downtown and have a giant parking lot. I’m only aware of this parking lot because I’ve been picking my roommate up on Sunday mornings from work. It’s like the bright red ‘parking lot full’ sign is invisible until the last second, and when a Honda Odyssey slams their brakes on in front of me and does a Dallas dive down across traffic and down a side street. It’s just very confusing if they want us heathens to convert or if the art festival is “too worldly”.
Tbh I'm dating a Mormon and he is actually a very good person who never tried to convert me bc he doesn't want to control me and my believes. His family also never tried to convert me into their religion, all they cared about was his well-being and happiness. The same with him around him and my friends, he doesn't talk about religion much. And he finds the South Park episode very funny

This video was real informative, all I’ve learned about Mormons is from the Jodi arias case and from people comparing JW and Mormons. Also,If you change the lyrics on some JW songs they could be real bangers. I couldn’t help but sing that bethel song.
Really? Jodi Arias became baptized LDS with the hope that Travis would marry her. He did have sex with her outside of marriage which forbidden in the Bible. How about you pick up a book that is not bashing a religion you know nothing about. There’s also a website you can visit that visit that for accurate information. I know many JW’s and their faith is nothing like LDS faith. The only 2 similarities is non-trinitarian and we spread the world of Gid from knocking on doors. It is stated in the Bible that we must spread the gospel of Our Lord and Jesus Christ. We are not controlled, manipulated, and have a very normal life minus alcohol, smoking etc. I can’t watch much more.🤮
@Plasma_Snake yes. Many non-LDS people live in SLC itself and in many of the cities. Provo is basically all LDS but ranks as the happiest city in America. Nobody will bother you if you’re not LDS. Your neighbors just might be super nice if they are LDS. There’s no pressure to convert. There is Starbucks, restaurants and bars that serve alcohol and lots of things to do. I only have one family member out of my rather large family that lives in Utah. Most live east of the Mississippi River and prefer it that way.
@Plasma_Snake 50% of SLC is not LDS. You would be welcomed into the community just like any other person. There are churches on every corner but it wouldn’t have anything to do with you. You’d just have your own life like any other person. Many people moved in from California due to housing prices. They weren’t and are not LDS. There are churches and other religions all over Utah including Hindus and Muslims. It’s just like anywhere else, be nice to them and they’ll be nice to you. You cannot be nice to them and most likely, they’ll still be nice to you. If you’re thinking of moving their for a job opportunity or because of the mountains and so many things to do then go visit. I have a friend that’s Orthodox Jewish who moved there and loves it. It’s just a matter of your likes and dislikes in any community.
That is a great question. The old Halls were built with small windows at the very top. At least the one I grew up did. But that was the only one I’ve ever seen.
I believe it has something to do with the Armaggedon. They believe that they will be protected from the fire when earth burns at the last day. Kingdom halls will be their refuge places.
@@2PastNeptunewhen I was in, our kh did have high up windows. But our city building codes require X amount of square footage of the floor for light and ventilation. (I believe it was 15%) If the windows were sealed type, the ventilation system also needed to be approved by city. The real reason for high windows was that they didn't want you looking out the windows when you got bored, high windows mean you can't see what's going on out in the world. 😢
I remember my first boyfriends mom hated me at first and I didnt understand why until i found out she was a Jehovahs Witness and I was Mormon lol. It's super interesting to see a break down between the similarities and differences between the two. I'm deconstructing Mormonism myself now.
Can you make a comparison video between JWs and the Bible Students? As witnesses we were taught that we were called “Bible students” and then Rutherford changed it to “Jehovah’s Witnesses”. But that’s only HALF the story. The “Bible Students” did come from Charles Taze Russell, but they were also a group that strayed away after Russell died. The “Bible Students” were the people who didn’t like RUTHERFORD’S teachings, so today they evolved into the “Chicago bible students”, the “dawn bible students”, and so on. And these other religions from russell STILL EXIST TODAY😅 it’s like 2 million of them all over the world. And back then when the “Bible students” disconnected from Joseph Rutherford, Rutherford got mad and decided to change HIS followers names to “Jehovah’s Witnesses”, so that everyone can tell the difference between HIS followers and the people that LEFT him. He even went to the extreme to change the word “churches” into “kingdom halls” so that he can really stand out in the world.🙊
This is wonderful! As a practicing Latter-day Saint, I will say that this was a very respectful and accurate video in regards to its descriptions of our beliefs and history. Some good humor in here too about us, nothing really offensive. There are small errors and areas where I would certainly express things differently, but most of these are things where even practicing members might misunderstand. One thing I would like to emphasize is that we don’t believe prophets are infallible - though some members struggle with this idea.

As a Trinitarian, I welcome the day Jehovahs witnesses and Mormons turn up to my door coincidentally at the same time. Can you imagine what an interesting day that would be?
It depends - when I was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ, there were a couple times we ran into preaching JW's - they tended to either be 1) really nice and not want to talk much or 2) bible bash and name call. But that was just my experience. :D
An interesting combo. Both are non-Trinitarian, Christian-inspired religions, but their respective non-Trinitarian theologies are about as contrarian as can be. JWs are monotheists who reject the divinity of Christ and deny the Holy Spirit personhood. LDS are polytheists who believe that Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three seperate deities, and that even the Holy Spirit has a body.
@@OntheOtherHandVideossame they either avoided us like the plague or were nice and dismissed the interaction quickly. Or they were bitter and wanted to bash, I had more negative interaction than good ones.

I think this is overall not an unfair representation of the LDS faith. What I think is a much bigger difference between JW and LDS (at least in my understanding) is how members of both groups interact with the world and especially former members. There is a thirst among LDS for friendship with people who are different that just isn't found anywhere in JW. And shunning isn't really a thing. The fact that probably more than half of LDS members don't attend (at least not often) and there is no real expectation of something bad happening to them eternally is quite a bit more in line with the view of mainline Christian churches than it is with JW
There's plenty of shunning in LDS world. My family was outraged when I told them I was correcting my mother's mistakes and taking my kids back to Catholicism (I was born LDS but have found God after leaving that creepy Utah nonsense)

As a Mormon, your description was fair. The only thing materially incorrect was that our prophets and apostles do not claim to be infallible. Joseph Smith said that a prophet is only a prophet when acting in his formal calling. They can and do make mistakes. We now admit that we were wrong in the past (racism and other historical claims) and that all men are products of their time.
Racism hasn't been removed, they still have the dumb story that God is turning people's skin black to make them less attractive... 😂 The last missionaries I spoke with even tried to defend it lol
Brigham Young preached the Adam-God doctrine at one of the general conferences, so he spoke as a prophet then. According to what you write here, it's hard to know what teachings to trust isn't it? And don't tell me I can just get a prompting because I'm sure nearly everyone in attendance hearing the prophet speak received promptings he was preaching the truth. . . or was everyone there deceived?
So if this is true, why would you ever trust what your prophet says if its simply a product of the times and will be overruled in a few years, much like the name Mormon?

There’s ZERO archaeological evidence for the tales in the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith was a scammer and a pedo. The Book of Abraham it’s false as well. The Mormon cult doesn’t resemble at all early Christianity.
We, Latter-day Saints, emphasize education. In my small branch in Arkansas, we have a female medical doctor, a man with a PhD in biology, a counselor, a lawyer, and me a nurse. To my knowledge, JWs discourage higher education.

Great video, very informative. Just one correction, Joseph Smith Jnr didn’t write the Book of Mormon but rather translated it from the golden plates 👌🏽
The JW"s contradict themselves. They changed the verses about saints being resurrected, but their Greek translation backs up the resurrection of the saints! LOL
I'm LDS this was a very interesting video, fair play to you most of what you said was accurate and you were respectful about what you said, I've had a couple jw come to my door before and although I disagree with some of their beliefs they were very nice people, the only thing I would say you got wrong is that we believe God was once a man now some do believe that because its been said by some church leaders in the past but most don't, its similar to how Bringam Young once said he thought Adam could be God , most don't believe this and no other prophet has agreed with him
Also a member, you might want to look into that a little more. As exaltation in the celestial kingdom (not salvation you will learn these are two very different things but both good) exaltation is essentially having all that God has (and what he is) Check out gospel principles chapter 47 “exaltation” it’s a pretty simple breakdown of it all. As well as doctrine and covenants 132: 20-23
I was taught that god was a man once 5 years ago in seminary, and we could become like him some day. Just because the church is trying to hide that belief from the public doesn’t mean it isn’t still widely taught
@@hazzanfl9814 if multiple were taught it by seminary and institution teachers, it’s an ingrained belief. And every true believing member and former member I know has been taught that. At that point, it doesn’t matter if it’s “not technically doctrine”
The distinct similarity is their insistence on strict adherence to the organization of the church. It’s one’s practice of ritualistic behaviors and traditions that keeps them connected to God and hopeful for the afterlife. Neither can profess an assurance of their salvation as they don’t or won’t know if their works and behaviors will merit His favor.
Late to the party, and an ex Mormon. Very Mormon. My grandfather was just under the Apostles in rank. I have only one correction, and one fun fact; First, the building that Mormons meet in for regular Sunday service is called a stakehouse. A ward is what other religions call a congregation. 3 to 4 wards will use the same stakehouse each Sunday, at staggered times. You belong to the ward that covers your neighborhood, your neighbors. It's not like Baptists, who can pick the congregation that suits them, the subtle variations. There are no variations in LDS services. Kinda like McDonald's. You get the exact same thing wherever you go, so may as well go to your own ward. Fun fact! The rites and ceremonies, the super sacred, that took place in the LDS temples changed significantly in the late 80s or early 90s. Coincidentally at the same time a former Freemason released all the secret rites and ceremonies of that religion. Yeah. Same rites and ceremonies. But it was already well known that Joseph Smith's father was a Freemason.
Out of the two JWs are more like Christians the Mormons are so different calling them Christian’s is like call Muslims Christian’s it’s not an accurate thing to say

I am an active member in the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints and that is false in some ways but has a ring of truth but I am writing this comment to address the major falsehood. we do not get hundreds of wives. it is not very clear what eternal plural marriage is for. But to obtain the highest level of the celestial kingdom you have to be married and so I believe that do to women tending to be more religious than men there will be a few men who will have to have more then one wife but more as a solution to that rule and not how we think of marriage. besides after judgment there will be no more marriages preformed so there are no hundreds of wives for me personally one wife is all I want and even the early members shared this want but do to polygamy being put into practice they did what they could to follow god. (For your friend cause unless you have read the Book of Mormon it won't make sense) and it was put into practice so that his the church of Jesus Christ would not die out remember Jacobs explanation to the Nephites as to when God permits plural wives.
Congratulations you did a very good job of being accurate in relation to the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There were only a few mistakes, but I give you a 10 out of 10.

Can you consider doing on SDA and Jehovah witnesses. I see them is very much the same.

@@twipo912 I do not use the word cult lightly and I am correct in using it here. Even the more well known cults like Johnstown were also full of people simply wanting to do good and find truth. I will not sugarcoat my words about cults, not after all the suicides, human sacrifices (via refusal of blood transfusions), traumatizing LDS wilderness camps and even the murders.
Hey, ex Mormon here. One correction I have is that the salt lake temple isn’t the “main temple” it’s just the most iconic.
Hey, do you know where is the main temple?
@@calvo1002i don’t believe there is a main temple

Yes, that's a common 'reason' people within the Church of Jesus Christ can hold - but it is something of an old wives tale.
To quote Elder Renlund:
"Very little has been revealed about Mother in Heaven, but what we do know is summarized in a gospel topic found in our Gospel Library application. Once you have read what is there, you will know everything that I know about the subject. I wish I knew more. You too may still have questions and want to find more answers. Seeking greater understanding is an important part of our spiritual development, but please be cautious. Reason cannot replace revelation."
Hope that helps!

All I’m gonna say about the JWs out here is they could very easily be a part of our community. They are very close to our downtown and have a giant parking lot. The “Bible Students” did come from Charles Taze Russell, but they were also a group that strayed away after Russell died.

I have LDS thanks for the prayer though and I hope you stay safe and prosperous.
“I hope they get out of a church that believes in things that can’t be proven and restricts them, so they can join MY church that believes in things that can’t be proven and restricts them”
Lol
I just watched you on Alyssa’s channel and I just realized that I was actually about to watch this video the other night but then I got distracted but now I’m here.
It’s weird how that happened.
Accurate description of my Church: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
I remember when I was the SDA people, keep on getting me confused with Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons
I agree
Brigham Young preached the Adam-God doctrine at one of the general conferences, so he spoke as a prophet then. According to what you write here, it's hard to know what teachings to trust isn't it?
And don't tell me I can just get a prompting because I'm sure nearly everyone in attendance hearing the prophet speak received promptings he was preaching the truth. . . or was everyone there deceived?
So if this is true, why would you ever trust what your prophet says if its simply a product of the times and will be overruled in a few years, much like the name Mormon?
@@mcdonaldpuddin they are good people. And there is so much proof. He predicted Covid.
Thanks for full of objectivity material good job
The watchtower isn’t above the Bible however, the organization is called Watchtower Bible and tract society. Notice the order of importance.
Excellent presentation, thank you.
Members of the LDS church celebrate Christmas and Easter while Jehovas dont do that.
Never met a Mormie that celebrate them.. maybe they can now?
The one cult falls from the horse the one side, the other the offer side.
@@AngelGuzman-f9c Mormons have always celebrated Christmas and Easter, why would you think they didn't? The Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas records have all gone platinum.
I'd like to see more of these. Thanks Panda.
I'm a recent member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints (aka mormon) convert. Thanks for this vid, very informative. I bear my testimony that the book of mormon is true and the LDS church is the restored church in the name of Jesus Christ amen.
Ya sure buddy
@@Ssm19494I’m not Mormon but it is horrible how people treat them. Imagine if someone said that about Muslims or jews
@@reeeeeeeman8792thank you. It is horrible. you don’t treat other churches like that.

There’s ZERO archaeological evidence for the tales in the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith was a scammer and a pedo. The Book of Abraham it’s false as well. The Mormon cult doesn’t resemble at all early Christianity.
Excellent video, thx!
We, Latter-day Saints, emphasize education. In my small branch in Arkansas, we have a female medical doctor, a man with a PhD in biology, a counselor, a lawyer, and me a nurse. To my knowledge, JWs discourage higher education.
I hope you find the real Jesus
Russel m Nelson gave a full talk on the importance of higher education
My bf’s cousin goes to Brigham young university and she really enjoys it. I’m sure like with all religions, fanatics just give it a bad name. I haven’t met any Mormons other than his family but they seem like good people
@@rhymerlegend2717 we don't need to find him because we already worshipped him from the very beginning
Great video, very informative. Just one correction, Joseph Smith Jnr didn’t write the Book of Mormon but rather translated it from the golden plates 👌🏽
Can you do videos on The Seventh-Day Adventists
Great video. Thanks for making it.
*As of 2023 JW no longer need to report hours and men are now able to have beards.
Us Catholics do not recognize either as Christians, but heretical denominations.
Exmormon here. Can confirm, they a cult
So.... like Protestants for hundreds of years then?
You Catholics are the biggest heretics of all
Us Protestants don’t recognize them either.
Not us orthodox either
I did in fact get a Mormon ad while watching this video.
The blind leading the blind
Sums up Christianity as a whole
The JW"s contradict themselves. They changed the verses about saints being resurrected, but their Greek translation backs up the resurrection of the saints! LOL
Bethel is like Disneyland but less cult-like
I'm LDS this was a very interesting video, fair play to you most of what you said was accurate and you were respectful about what you said, I've had a couple jw come to my door before and although I disagree with some of their beliefs they were very nice people, the only thing I would say you got wrong is that we believe God was once a man now some do believe that because its been said by some church leaders in the past but most don't, its similar to how Bringam Young once said he thought Adam could be God , most don't believe this and no other prophet has agreed with him
Also a member, you might want to look into that a little more. As exaltation in the celestial kingdom (not salvation you will learn these are two very different things but both good) exaltation is essentially having all that God has (and what he is)
Check out gospel principles chapter 47 “exaltation” it’s a pretty simple breakdown of it all.
As well as doctrine and covenants 132: 20-23
I was taught that god was a man once 5 years ago in seminary, and we could become like him some day. Just because the church is trying to hide that belief from the public doesn’t mean it isn’t still widely taught
@totalhufflepuff203 just because an individual in the church taught it doesn't make it doctrine
@@hazzanfl9814 if multiple were taught it by seminary and institution teachers, it’s an ingrained belief. And every true believing member and former member I know has been taught that. At that point, it doesn’t matter if it’s “not technically doctrine”
@totalhufflepuff203 depends what you mean by it. Can we become like God yes. Was jesus a man on earth yes, is jesus God yes
Up state newyork is really up to something
I know you mentioned it as a joke, but I actually did get an ad for the Mormon church when I clicked on this video
Omg I remember watching Kwaku! I forgot the name of that podcast 😭
any comparison highlights how boring JW's are . Do a comparison to Amish and I'm sure the Amish will look like Burning Man comparitively.
Late to the party, and an ex Mormon. Very Mormon. My grandfather was just under the Apostles in rank. I have only one correction, and one fun fact;
First, the building that Mormons meet in for regular Sunday service is called a stakehouse.
How about doing a comparison between JW, Mormons, and the Church, if any, you adhere to?
I used to make jokes about having a sharks vs jets dance off with the mormons and the JWs. I used to get told off a lot when I used to knock on doors.
Out of the two JWs are more like Christians the Mormons are so different calling them Christian’s is like call Muslims Christian’s it’s not an accurate thing to say
Is worshipping Jesus Christ not christian enough? Then what will?
@ no Mormons aren’t Christian get angry about all you want. If you want to sincerely be considered Christian then convert.
I have family in Mormonism that dates back to the Mormon battalion.. it's insane to me that my ancestors got duped by the conman Joseph Smith
I wasn't a JDub but I was babtized Mormon when I was 10. Did you know the phrase "and it came to pass" is used approximately 1,430 times in the book of Mormon?!
"any second now" JW in a nutshell
One is a group of tritheist heretics whilst the other is a group of Arian heretics.
I work at a grocery store, and I see people with name tags sometimes. I usually try to look to see which one they are just out of curiosity. It can be hard to tell if someone is a Mormon/Moron or a JW.
JWs are less likely to wear suspenders, wear any body accessories, and are generally less educated.
jw’s dont usually come in with name tags..
@@whatsthestorymorninglory Sometimes they have name tags.
Usually, if JW’s do have name tags, it means that there’s a convention somewhere in town. That’s the only instance I can think of

Correction, Joseph Smith wasn't the Founder of the church neither he owns it. It was founded by Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith was just simply the one who restores it
Bruh.
@@exjwpandatower It's "The church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints" Not Church of Joseph Smith

There’s no proof of that. And the LDS church is not shown to have existed at any point before 1830. Joseph Smith founded it

A few things I know difference between The Two (Let me know if I get any wrong)
M: Everyone goes to some form of heaven, even if that heaven is outer darkness
J: Only the elite goto heaven (not all Jw's) Just those ptivilidged arsehats, and anyone they claim that does.
M: Billions of sprit wives, potentially your own star, and you become a gawd yourself after you smurf that is.
J: Only the Elite goto heaven, 1 wife that i am aware of
Equal terms - Both are racist against certain minorities and women, not giving them temple privileges, Women are second-class citizens, cannot gain priesthood, or higher up positions
M: Certain classes of it promote smurfing of apostates, Polygamy, and isolation in gated communities, in direct opposition to the laws of the land
Equally Both M: Fundies promote shunning, hatred of apostates on equal terms to J's Shunning practices, however Fundie M: Can literally smurf those those that refuse to follow, or leave.
J: supposedly 1 god, 1 Jesus, though hard to consider if they think it is same god, or not.
M: Billions of gods, Yahweh, as clearly a separate entity to God Jesus, Satan is a god, virtually every bible hero a god, Moroni a god, and so on. You can become a god too , after you smurf that is - If You pay the church enough money.
There is some similarities between fundamental Mormonism, and current practices of JW's
Becoming an apostate of Mormonism, does not 100% deny the other members of thinking you exist however to my knowledge
Wow I didn't know Mormons have several Gods (that's a son in regular Christianity to now down to fake Gods), I just assumed they had some weird rules and things but otherwise that they like Christians believed you get to heaven through Jesus. They never talk about this openly though, cults love to get followers by deceiving people , here by making people believe they are just like regular Christians. JWs are not honest either about what they believe in.
That's informative and thank you for not giggling so much, like you normally do. Do a video on the history of the Catholic Church, the crusade and burning people alive by the thousands, and the sex scandals that go on in the priesthood today, that would be interesting. Watch the movie SPOTLIGHT with Michael Keaton it's informative
Ones a cult and the other is… a cult what do you know they’re both the same hahahahah my bad !
please don't misuse the term cult. cults are full of only evil and both these religions are full of people trying to help others. look at that actual cults and you will see that neither of these fit the bill.

I'm an ex-mormon, raised extremely devout and traditional (I was a "Molly" mormon). You can be a part of the mormon religion without going to church every Sunday or following all the rules (a "Jack" mormon). There are also "progressive" mormons. Is that a thing for some JWs?
I was told by an ex Mormon friend that the Mormon men who reach exaltation get to be a god with their own planet and hundreds of wives to help populate his planet.
That is kind of true.
I realize this is long sorry. If you don't want to read that is fine but please ask your friend to read as well.
@@twipo912 I appreciate your reply. I am curious what you think about what Jesus said about marriage after death in Matthew 22:23-31.
