I like what appears to be a metal housing for the motor of this winder, and that the rubber feet appear to keep the winder in place without clamping it to a table. The Amazon reviews are mixed, though (currently an average of approx. 3.5 stars over 26 reviews), and the price is higher than that of other electric yarn winders for home use. If it goes on sale during the next Amazon Prime Days, however, I might consider it.

I have the exact same winder and I have made some very nice cakes. I’m looking for info on setting the tension because I’m having trouble making my nice cakes lately. Keep practicing. The cakes will get better.

hi cozy tangerine! great review! i tuft rugs and wind 10-15 skeins a project. at first i was caking with a hand winder, but after some trial and error (3 broken winders later) i rigged up my cordless drill to interface with my hand winder and it cakes like a mofo.
definitely cheaper to buy something like MasBros, but i just couldnt help myself.
anyways, keep on keeping on!
