WOOOOO!!!!!!! I've got the same problem with my swing! only i suffer with early extension, and i keep thinning the ball. This will definitely help my swing for sure! I'm so happy for you mikey! I can't wait to hear all the great shots you've made! We definitely need to see another course vlog after this swing fix! Cheers my friend!
Such a good video and nice to see some legit golf coaching that is not overly technical but highly relevant. There is a lot from this lesson that could apply to anyone who has played golf for a long time but doesn't understand why you don't get any better. Just committing to consistent check-ins on proper alignment will have a positive effect - no matter what the other flaws are that need to be addressed. I've learned that I should not go see a golf coach for additional lessons until I've gotten my alignment sorted as he's going to start there anyway so much more effective and to the point when I don't need to spend half the lesson on alignment. Per the coaches other point, being able to do this work on my own has created much more independence and ability to sort out loads more issues on my own.
Fantastic guys! Stay with it Mikey, the change may be painful for a while. I have pretty much all the same issues as Mikey (strong grip, aim right, body doesn't rotate through, etc.). Decided a year ago to start correcting my issues as my handicap had been the same for 20 years. I see light at the end of the tunnel but some days are very frustrating. Best of luck!
Great work. Love that the guys didn’t go straight to the grip. Had this happen and my swing was a train wreck for a month. All I could think about was the grip. The guys talked more about feel and not strictly mechanics. Outstanding instructors. Mikey, you also have a great instructor with Ian that knows your swing better than anyone. Please do a trade with him. You listen to his instruction at home. In exchange, he has to listen to you and play the clubs you fit him with!!!! :) Thanks again. You guys make it fun for us.
Nice video from an educational perspective and congrats Mikey. Golf instruction can be so complicated and technical but the boys from MeandMyGolf made it simple and concise. Well done and Thank you! Good luck getting to scratch Mikey.
This was a great lesson! I have a lot of the same issues as Mikey (good rotation but not enough lateral push). The feeling of the pause at the top has helped me a lot to get my swing path going right, but he needs to be careful because the extra compression has caused my score to balloon as i adjust to my new swing tendencies. Hitting 30-40 yards further off the tee but balls have started rolling into new hazards and trees previously inaccessible to me!
This swing analysis and recommendation will serve Mikey well in the coming months. The hardest part (for all golfers) is commitment and implementation. These swing modifications take time; thus FORGET about scoring; hell do not even fill out the scorecard. Go and play multiple rounds as if each is a "practice round. Get comfortable with each change and tell it becomes part of your swing mechanics. Lastly, be patient and stay committed Mikey!!!!!
Don’t know if you’re planning to collaborate with anyone else in the US, but to get a lesson filmed with Porzak Golf (Adam Porzak) would be amazing. Elite elite instruction, coach of top college golfers and pros, and a great instructor and content creator.
This highlights the importance of finding a good coach to help players improve. After alignment was addressed they really only changed one thing which was lower body weight shifting first before arms started. The rest fell into place. You can only change one thing at a time on the range and practice it.
this was super interesting! i have the same problem and path issues as mikey, and i never thought that the pause drill and increasing lateral movement and width of stance can help path and rotation. definitely time to work on that!
Good lesson with a few simple concepts for Mikey to focus on. Change stance to square to the target, add lateral left hip sway/reducing rotation, aim to the right of the target, widen the stance for stability and a change from a fade to a slight draw. This adds compression which will help distance. I’m trying to implement the hip sway and “break the wall” and am hitting a lot of buckets of balls to try to change my habit pattern. It will be interesting to see what Mikey can do to change his ingrained swing habit and how much he can change without pounding a lot of balls at the range.
Fantastic video. Nice work Mikey. This is exactly what i am working on a this moment. Weight shift and hip movement toward the target. Thank you for helping me in my golf swing.
The more I see Piers and Andy on youtube the more I like them, they seem like very good instructors and really down to earth nice guys. Great video, good luck with the swing Mikey!
Fascinating lesson. I started with too much lateral movement in the downswing and not enough rotation (so the ball went way right) and thought I should eliminate the lateral and just have rotation. Mikey's lesson was really eye opening for me. Looking forward to practising tomorrow to see if I can incorporate
Outstanding content. I would like to have heard some/more discussion of why ball position wasn't changed. In many instances it looked like the ball was almost as far forward as for a driver swing. Almost impossible to start the ball right of target with the ball that far forward. Would like to get a response on this issue (if possible)...thx
There's a reason they're coaches to one of the straightest and most accurate players on the PGA Tour in Aaron Rai. Fantastic instruction as always. Well Done Piers and Andy...great content Ian and Mikey!
Great job Mikey! with all the nonstop instruction chatter being thrown at you you did a wonderful job trying to stay focused and processing what you needed to do. Wonderful lesson but I've got to say... do those 2 ever shut up? lol I train horses and we always try to give instruction, let them try and then leave them alone to let them "soak" mentally slow down and process the new information. Something those 2 might try
Perfect video, I've always hit a draw but get guilty of the feet aiming more right of target, which mentally stops the forward weight shift and turns my draw into a duck hook. I've been working on this drill at the range until my left leg is sore 😂 The accuracy and ease of power required for the shot you want is mind blowing when you get it right is a blissful feeling 😊
My coach used the alighnment stick down range with me once. I absolutedly obliterated the stick on the 5th shot. 🤣 Best part, he happened to video that swing so we got to see it in slow motion on replay.
Great lesson and totally relatable for many of us slightly over the top players. I really like how they went step by step to get to that final swing path and creating more ball compression too! Will any of this carry over towards your driver swing too, or totally separate moves?
this advice is so so good, I was just like Mikey until two drills like these transformed my game, combining the Tiger clear hips squatting feel and Bryson dropping hands in pocket feel has taken me from swipey fades to powerful draws and actually compressing ball, gained 40-50 yards on driver that pause, forward weight transition while lagging hands subtly down into slot trifecta is gold dust I found going through the swing steps in slow motion, exaggerating the feel, and just punching ball out there first to get feel down was best before speeding up to full swing
Great video as usual. I can really relate, as I have the same problem. My issue is a left hip replacement that makes it difficult to move towards the target. Any advice on how I can compensate would be greatly appreciated.
Can you do a video on 120g iron shaft comparisons? Like DG 120 x100, c taper S, project X 6.0, and some modus options? You did it for the stiffer and heavier options often around 130 and I think a 120g weight video would be appreciated
Great lesson from Andy and Piers. Wondering if Ian's brain was melting during this lesson with all the S&T hate in the TXG videos. If you focus on the caddy view during the lesson, you can see it is standard procedure talked about extensively from Andy and Mike. There is no lateral shifting off the ball on the backswing, and a large shallowing component is the lateral bump towards the target to initiate the downswing. Did the lesson hurt your worldview of the golf swing or even your feelings, Ian? :)
Thanks for having us on boys! Get working on it Mikey and we will do another check in at some point very soon.👍🏻
Cheers lads, loved spending some time with you both and watching you do what you do best!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
why not adjust his ball position, to help with path?
Outside of my swing more content to come from Me & My Golf and it’s 🔥
Nice work Mikey! You can tell you’re an athlete with your ability to pickup changes. Simple changes are the key! Nice lesson!
I nearly didn’t recognise Piers and Andy without the matching gear, what happened the boys have a blue before the leason 😂
I really enjoyed this lesson Mikey and have been able to incorporate it into my swing. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work
Great looking swing Mikey! Congrats mate
That would be brilliant mate!!👌🏾
Doesn't matter if there is wild fires... The grind don't stop.
I tell you what, these Mikey swing videos are some of the best content. Way to be open Mike, great stuff for viewers and hopefully also your golf game
Two of my favorite instructors assisting one of my favorite fitters/players. Awesome video.
Great video. Mikey you are really patient hitting balls with 3 people talking at you !!
These coaches are AWESOME! Great job Mikey!
Great work Mikey and the boys of Me and my golf! All the support and greetings from Finland.
That was great! some good drills to takeaway as well! Stick with it Mikey, we are all rooting for you.
Absolutely superb, the pause and bump is a game changer and something that will definitely help me in my own swing changes. 👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Two of my favorite RUclips channels

This was sooooooooo good!!!!!!!! Thank you for this! Good luck Mikey.
Just what I needed boys. Can’t wait to give this a try at the range tomorrow.
Well done Mike! Lovely tempo and swing!!
You have the patience of Job with all of the instructors in one lesson. Wow!
Mikey is such a stud. Great vod boys! Cheers
We love Mikey!
Yes we do!!
Looking forward to your progress Mikey!
Well done Mikey!
Keep it going.
Great video! Mikey’s the best! Those guys are great teachers… 27:50
Oh oh oh mikeys on fire 🔥⛳

Happy America day to our neighbors from the north!
That’s class
Stuck in the office today. Thanks for some new content for lunch time.
love both Channels. Great work.

Love this! thanks for getting the Lad's on and showing us these tips!
Atta Boy Mikey - Great lesson.
Enjoyment was 100 percent. Great video, again. Thanks so much.
Great job Mikey!
dang is California on fire again.
They wont clear underbrush for fear of burning a ladybug or a squirrel 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
This was so good!! I'm on my wat to the driving range!!!
This was a great lesson! I have a lot of the same issues as Mikey (good rotation but not enough lateral push). Good problem to have though😂
Suddenly your 8 iron is sticking greens that your 6 iron had little chance of holding
You are my most favourite people in the world. I can’t wait for part two. I’ll tell you that weight shift is easier said than done.

Would love to see a follow up video on fundamentals. How far left to aim etc. Would love to see Ian's setup to hit his draw.
Don’t know if you’re planning to collaborate with anyone else in the US, but to get a lesson filmed with Porzak Golf (Adam Porzak) would be amazing. Elite elite instruction, coach of top college golfers and pros, and a great instructor and content creator.
(He is also west coast)
I love watching Porzak. Dropped my handicap from a 12 to an 8 last year by focusing on the principles he teaches
Adam Porzak is an amazing communicator and simplifier.
Me and My Golf. Porzak. Cogorno. My top 3. All amazing.
I have combined Porzak and Milo Lines philosophy. Never struck it better.
Milo = body rotation
Porzak = feels

Mike, would like to see you go for a lesson on the driver. Good stuff guys.
Love this, thanks for putting yourself out there Mikey.
This was awesome!
great video as always!
Stunning!
This should help Mike with his driver too!
Mikey lookin smoooooth with that pause drill. I'm talkin George Clooney smooth. That's pretty damn smooth.
@@thk8933 McDreamy meet McSmoothie 😆
that was fantastic!

🔥🔥🔥 for Mutiple reasons this is fire
Watch out Fraz....a new swing and the confidence from it, and Clarkey will be flaming them like the Human Torch. Nice job Piers, and the new DC.
Mikey is gonna be striking it like Aaron Rai here soon
Fantastic video. Nice work Mikey. This is exactly what i am working on a this moment. Weight shift and hip movement toward the target. Thank you for helping me in my golf swing.
Great video and have been working really hard on the same issue. Great to see the confirmation within this video. 👏👍
The more I see Piers and Andy on youtube the more I like them, they seem like very good instructors and really down to earth nice guys. Great video, good luck with the swing Mikey!
They are OGs, been around forever now!
Outstanding lesson. Good job Mike you are us at any handicap
Great video. This is something i can definitely use for my swing. I need all the help i can get.
Nice lesson. I’m working on the same things so this was helpful.
great tips, good job!

Always good shit
A suggestion. If you are focusing on club path for the lesson. When you overlay the full swing tiles you should include club path.
Great job Mikey! with all the nonstop instruction chatter being thrown at you you did a wonderful job trying to stay focused and processing what you needed to do. What course are Piers and Andy at giving in person lessons?

Awesome analysis. $$$ lesson?
do you shift as much when hitting driver?
He shifts less with Driver and gets away with it because the ball is tee’d up.
Is the smoke moving
Keep your back to the target for longer on the way down, or feel the shoulders stay squarer for longer r
What club is he using…8 or 9 iron?
What iron was Mikey hitting?
7
Err take that fire is all good
Ye talked through every one of his swings
Would be better with a tracer
#pauseKing2?!
Very big question. Why was he aiming right? Many of us struggle with alignment but never hear the "why"
Ooooh….this is gonna hurt a lot before it helps. Big changes.
Needs more reaction with the ground with his feet.
A draw? Some mist hits!
Ball looks way too far forward for a 7 iron and is only going to encourage a left path
Is that cloud from wild fires, or did Biden blow up another pipeline? 😂
