- Visiting Venice's landmark spots, Andy links his inspirations from Natas to TA and Rodney, with a freestyle session to boot. Why the helmet? It's in there too.

The end is so legendary. Don’t ever change Andy
He's just so smart, even wears the shoes that cover his laces. Is it to prevent getting them caught, or tripping on them during the freestyle tricks? His consistency and trick variation during his lines is so jawdropping and fun to watch. Amazing skateboarder, I'm glad he wears that helmet cause it in a roundabout way helps the younger generation not feel ashamed to wear one.
Andy is one of the coolest "things" to happen to skateboarding in a long time. Breath of fresh air.
Until you watch him do a game of SKATE at the Berrics. Still a fan but was tough to watch
You must be under 18. Guys a kook
@@lefty9419 lol, most of the tricks he practices aren't berrics legal
Like a breath of salt water
@@lefty9419 the first match was awesome. but SKATE game is a small part of skateboarding and tbh, its kinda lame "yeah, flat ground tricks without considering freestyle at all? THATS JUST BS imo"
Andy is the realest. I skated through the 80s and 90s all the way til now and didn’t wear a helmet cuz it wasn’t cool. I had 2 really bad head injuries skating in my early 30s and started wearing a helmet. My sons 6 and ripping and he loves Andy and it def helps him feel better about me making him wear a helmet cuz Andy is his favorite. Andy is the best vibe in skating right now.
i'm 28 years old and i've thought of wearing a helmet but it just looks so goofy and then the credibility factor. props to you and your son for wearing one. maybe someday i'll grow a pair.
@@bear458ziif-s it's funny how now, non helmet wearers are the ones who are the conformists.
@@bear458ziif-slol. Grow up. Part of the reason Andy wore a helmet b/c others said he couldn't go pro wearing one. He said "fuck that" and set an example for kids and adults alike. Most importantly kids. But yeah dude grow up wear one ifu need one
I have never worn one either, i just turned 30 but mostly skate curbs and walls and some transition nothing crazy, however i feel i need to start wearing one. Its just the fact i find them distracting and uncomfy like im a baby with a big head that struggles to support it. I stopped caring what people thought awhile ago. If i could find comfy light one i would start wearing it
@@AspiringSpaceWizard thousand helmets
Great to see Andy on thrasher
💯
And to think they wouldnt feature him coz he wears a helmet....
bout time
this guy is a legend
is he?
So was his BATB performance. XD
Legend at doing the same shit over and over again this dude skates these spots all day everyday lol just watch a Dan corrigan vid he sucks Andy pee pee 24/7 this dude acts like he is changing skateboarding when in reality it’s just cringe hahah
You mean helmet
@@artomarto679mean he's got his own personality
I love that with Andy, skating is so much more than being able to do the hardest trick, impress people or win contests to prove how great he is. Its purely his love for the board, the history and how you can express yourself personally that made him ride and keeps him riding. So badass man, a true free spirit. Can't respect that enough
This was a great video. No music. Just the sounds of the skateboard. Wheels on pavement, the harsh grinding sounds on the wood and trucks and the constant stream of conciousness of Andy was refreshing. Just straightforward skating without all the same ol' same ol' tired routine! Great cinematography, too. 👏
I didnt notice until you pointed it out! no wonder I could 'get in the zone' throughout the whole video without distraction. everything is so raw! so andy!
The grind sound is one of the reasons l skate. Lol. No not really, but l def love the sound
Freaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkinnnngggggg awwwwweéeesssssommmmmeeee!!!!!!!!!!
Just beautiful ❤ I agree
I love how he randomly pivot up this 3 stairs at 06:35 That is why I love this guy. You can never guess what is coming next.
He did it so smooth too!!
It’s that foot work he talked about
ikr; most contest pros are robots; they have to be and I respect that. Andy is a true artist, like Rodney, Gonz, and Natas before him.
This skating is beautiful
not only does he do seemingly random things at times, he makes them look good at all times too
Gregson as a vlog filmer is the thing i never knew i needed. The shot at the curbs with the bike is nuts. Andy and Gregson is a sick duo!
Best filmer out rn
FR i was trippin on that. Casual nose blunt pop out too
That was indeed an amazing shot.
Amazing shot
@@shreddednervesno doubt about it, he makes everything looks so good even bmx riders
I love Andy. Making helmets cool single handedly
So crazy to me
Andy is a dork. He still has a hotter gf than me. That dork
It’s funny that the guy with the absolute most board control wears a helmet. I love it. I can’t imagine it being “cool” to hit your head not wearing a helmet and eat pudding for the rest of your life over a three stair lol
@@yourdaddy9622 If you get so smoked on a three stair that you get *that* fucked up, you are undoubtedly the worst skater on the planet.
ikr rrminds me of how I always thought it was ironic that Rodney Mullen in his early videos would always wear a helmet and full pads when he had better board control than anyone
Never realized how versatile Andy’s skating is. Thanks thrasher for the new perspective on this guy.
It's refreshing how authentic Andy is. Makes his own rules, plays his own game.
An Andy video is a beautiful thing. This dude just makes skating seem fun, and he’s one of the reasons I started now as an adult.
Keeping doing your thing, &&. Excited to follow along for the ride.
Glad Andy is getting love from thrasher. His talent is undeniable and his bag of tricks is insane.
Go green!
@@mbatina00 go white!
Gregson's filming in this is incredible. We're so lucky to have him
The best by far
Andy literally just living and skates anything he wants too. We need more skate parts!
This is not a skate part bro
@@TheIdontcare444nobody said it was
We need more skate parts with longer lines
Except a 12 stair
@@Derajbeats I know the search bar is hard to use sometimes, but you're wrong. ruclips.net/video/gg1ZMwAAcEg/видео.htmlsi=4RV5XLJVHmJc-m9g
As a skater if you dont enjoy his spirit/enthusiasm you are either trying to hard to be hard, or overthinking it.
nomination for comment of the month- -exactly! • if there was a hoodie that said "trying too hard to be hard" on one side and "overthinking it" on the other, i'd get one lol- oooh and a step further would be black ink on black fabric. haha
@@rawxtir Glossy black Iron-on on black fabric would be dope actually.
Andy Anderson is one of the most captivating skaters to watch. It's like the skateboard is an extension of himself and he's just vibing and flowing. Sooo good, so fluid. I can't get enough.
Bro's always just been doing his own thing and that shit is so inspiring.
I use to think this dude was going to faze out CAs the whole helmet issue, but I’m so glad to say that Andy is here to stay! The skate industry needs a role model like Andy that’s awesome man hopefully helmets become more acceptable in skateboarding congrats on earning legend status Andy you’ve earned it, the amount of all around love you have is infectious
So many "wait, what?" and shaking my head at the incredible balance and board control. I could watch Andy flow spots all day.
Beyond good. Andy is the living embodiment of what skating is all about
Embarrassed. You mean Embarrassed!
@@aaronwebber523ooooh edgy! Your nuts haven’t dropped yet have they?
@@aaronwebber523 Shut up
Fashion and trends only go so far, glad you guys gave Andy some attention.
No doubt, I had to do a double take when I seen that Thrasher posted this lol. And it was filmed and edited by Gregson, his opponent in mano a mano. Very cool to see🤙
4:40 just a board drop but the skip was everything! Had to be on purpose! Dude is just a pure enigma. 😮
I had to watch that several times!
Andy looks like he has more fun skateboarding than any other pro
Cookie looks like he has fun too.
Mark Gonzalez has entered the chat.
@@cvltzilla The Gonz makes art. But, you win.
Andy doesn't want to be the same old kickflip guy with an 8 inch popsicle and a buzzcut
It’s impossible to hit pause or stop watching any of his parts for me. It’s like, he invited you to the session and is stoked you’re there with him. Cool vibes everywhere
He’s actually sick. I’ll admit I thought it was a gimmick at first but I have more respect for him now because he is obviously genuine and not attention seeking as well as being a gifted skater.
This is what skating is all about right here - freeing the mind of all boundaries and hitting that flow state
Andy IS the skater this generation needs. Puhsing skaing forwward not only with his skills and creativity, but his philosophy also. Much respect. Love him.
This episode was amazing! Love this guys style and the fact he wears a helmet is awesome
One of the purest skaters out there. Rodney's influence is hella evident - skating and philosophy
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmao you’re riding this dudes meat so bad it’s embarrassing 😂😂😂😂😂 this dudes free styling is MID😂 the only OG to do it is Rodney Mullen and that’s how it’s gonna stay 😂😂 I swear this wave of skating ain’t it, lowering the standard of what should be on thrasher 😂😂
Andy is someone who truly deserves all of the recognition in the world.
Such a talented and kind person, truly a role model for anyone. Whether you skate or not you can learn from him.
I almost feel sorry for people who don’t “get” him. In a sport defined by individuality, he is the most individual.
People just want everybody to be the same. This is especially depressing in skateboarding, when nothing should be defined - how you should look, how you should skate, etc, yet everything is.
i had no idea there were people who didnt get him. he's insane. plain and simple.
almost.
Man, the dream is for Andy and Natas to have a full hour interview and sesh on the Nine Club..
I would love to see Natas on there
With Rodney Mullen. Maybe asking too much, but I'd love to hear the three of them talking.
And the main man, Gonz
His confidence level with the board is insane. He knows it so well it seems like it becomes part of him
Thing about Andy that's admirable it's being freaking genuine. Be genuine folks. We don't have to replicate rules that shouldn't be enforced or have no reason at all. Every person is truly one of a kind
Andy is but a mere vessel through which the skate force flows effortlessly!
Thank you Andy for making skateboarding fun again!
Yooooooooo! I don’t even skate but I follow Andy’s career closely because he’s he’s such a true innovator he inspires my drumming. Ty for having him!
A true legend right there. Noone has this style. the way he mixes freestyle into street skating and does it all out of pure joy and experimental fun is just so awesome to watch. Thank you ANDY
He seems like he loves riding his skateboard so much it’s inspiring. He’s amazing
Dude rides the world like a wave. Beautiful 🙏
This guy is SO real and a much needed breath of fresh air! Doing his own thing and passionate in what he does. Being authentic is super power!
THAT CLIP FROM 3:54-4:00... bruhhh, beautiful candid composition of the bike. Great video all around.
Andy is a killer, and even his very chill sessions are filled with pretty cool shit.
except in the berrics, just sayin
@@ddrtheweedman that second round was really trash, no doubt.
@@ddrtheweedmanOkay, and do you really think that a professional bowl, street and freestyle skateboarder like Andy, with all his experience and knowledge, and creativity, wouldn't land switch heel Flip, nollie heel Flip and switch 360 flip? Look for some of his game of skate in other chanels and you'll see that he lands everything easily, he abandoned the BATB, i don't know why, but i'm talking about Andy because i know him, even personally, his flatground is very good and he wouldn't lose easily like that if he wanted to play seriously..
@@brunofranca3718agree
Idk abt his performance at BTB but all I know is I would much rather just go skate and chill with someone like Andy than whoever the top contestants at BATB happen to be
Handy Andy. Always backed this dude even when some ouks were hating on him. Much respect and love dude. J. Durban South Africa
This style of skating is timeless.
As someone that doesn’t wear a helmet, I respect his reasoning for wearing one. And honestly, no mom is gonna have a hard time supporting the one guy in skateboarding who religiously wears a helmet.
Powerful and creative skater! Good job Chris filming!
Chirs is the best
Btw do you surf at all? Bet you would rip!@@authenticandyanderson
Probably one of the coolest guys you can ever meet in person. Dude is quality all around.
Thanks Andy and Chris G., great stuff.
I think I've watched just about every vid with Andy in it lately, cant get enough of his attitude toward skating its just so electric and fun. Also I have a 6 year old and its rad to see him commenting on how cool Andy's helmet is. A true role model that skateboarding has needed for a long time.
"Cause it's my thing man". Legend!
I love these never ending lines! ❤
Been following Andy for longer than I can even remember now. He's so down-to-earth, true to himself and one of the most enjoyable to watch skaters out there. Immensely talented and a wonderful soul too. Huge fan.
This lil video was a turning point for me....i think i just get andy more now.
I genuinely believe that if you gave Andy some water and food and a place to sleep, he’d skate for no money or fame. Dude just seems happy out there living and some people don’t quite understand it.
So freaking talented! This was so fun to watch.
I love that andy is such a ripper, and such a nice person, that you can't even hate on him. He should be in soty conversations every year because nobodies doing what he's doing the way he's doing it.
even how cool he is, its crazy that he still has haters
This is amazing, Andy is the best thing that happened to skateboarding in a very long time. Never be afraid to be yourself guys
I've gained a lot of respect for Andy over the last few years. truly has the passion and courage of his own conviction. its refreshing to see
to me andy is very fun to watch. he's captivating because you never know what's he's going to do next
Amazing skating and edit 👏
"You have to be undeniable" - Andy Anderson truly is undeniable.
What a rad and original dude! Definitely one of my favourite all time athletes!!
I grew up with Andy and I can affirm that back in 2010 he was praising the Natas Spin constantly. Such a legend and nicest guy out there
Skateboarding has and always will be about doing your own thing don’t ever change Andy 🤘🏻
Nowadays we miss real originality in skateboarding. Everybody does these same tricks, as they become trendy for a year or two. Andy is one of few pros, who just does his thing and doesnt go with the common flow. I appreciate that
So awesome to see nothing but positive reactions on here. Your doing something right, Andy.
The helmet is my thing man" Love that line❤
Anything ,anywhere is a skate obstacle with Andy he's a fantastic skateboarder!!!
My favourite skater I admire his dedication to the history of his craft. 💚
Wow, this dude has a beautiful trick selection, could watch this all day.
Sweet. Glad to see Andy videos. I have his second to last flight deck, the football one, and I absolutely love it. I got that lighter deck and the hollow titanium Indys, I need all the help I can get as an older dude relearning Ollie tricks
This guy is a national treasure
Wow! AMAZING!!! this video embodies the feeling I chase that's had me skating for 30yrs. Creativity Rules!
LET ANDY ANDERSON KNOW HE IS ONE OF THE BEST IN CONTESTS, STREET, VERT, AND THAT HIS TRANSITION SKILLS ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD.
Chris Gregson sure lets the talented Andy shine as he reminds us all to adapt to perceived limitations and forge our each own style with inspiration from others!
Andy's skating is insane!
I love these comments, was kinda expecting a lot of hate tbh, based on what I see from the general public most the time about Andy. Great to see Andy on Thrasher
Most undeniable skater out there. Andy just makes it look fun again!
The part where Andy does the noseblunt with the cyclist in the foreground at 3:56 is such a good shot 👌 👏
4:39 the way he threw his board down was amazing
Just flowing. Love it.
Haha right into the fattest crack 😅
The way it bounced was like it was a yo yo and he controlled it
im trying it tomorrow@@authenticandyanderson
How cN you not love this guy. Dude is so likeable it's insane. You can just see and feel his passion for skateboarding. He truly loves skateboard and appreciates all different aspects of it. Which is definitely refreshing.
Love this guy, his style is so fresh to watch.
@ 2:10 was my favorite haha little crook tap 🔥
Andy he is in an absolute different level in many things. Actual legend at his age, one of the most recognisable skaters out there, and also pushing the limits of a few skateboard dogmas. Genius.
The way he explains about skateboarding & things about tricks is absolutely amazing. He is 1 of my favourite skaters in a very long time
This guys style is amazing and the fact he wears a helmet is even cool imo people dont understand how fast things can go wrong even if you are the best of the best. Respect to this guy!
This guy is a true legend for saving his head, not to mention godlike skateboarding
So many of these tricks made me smile but accidentally knocking over that scooter and hippie jumping it was something else.
Was so hyped when that happened 😂
That 3flip over the sand gap, nose blunt line. Surprised a few of us fo sho. 😅 👏 👌
Was lucky enough to see him skating Venice beach my first time visiting California recently - absolute shredder
The disrespect against that scooter at the end there hahahahahahahaha...
Like to imagine all the jaded kids seeing this was posted and being upset about it. This dude is cool.
6:42 "it's a sign that you're being so dangerous that you need to protect something" this is exactly how I view helmets, I felt this first when I had a helmet on in McDonald's a few months ago after a blading sesh and realized I probably look funny, but inside I felt rad and proud of wearing it cus I knew I genuinely needed it when I was attempting fly out flips earlier
An old soul skater. I love that he draws on all the awesome stuff from pre-90's skating and blends different disciplines fluidly and has such an obvious love for skating's history and nuances. He's vastly more individual and fun to watch than most skaters. And kudos for being wise and wearing a helmet and not letting all the adolescent ignorant naysayers get him down.
It's like I thought I was watching Dan Corrigan's channel but no it's Thrasher 🙃
Huge difference in production value, but yeah 😄
Haters gonna hate, Skaters gonna skate ✌️😎
I like this guy. Wicked skater and I respect his resilience to continue wearing a helmet despite being deemed ‘uncool’. Makes him even cooler! 🙏🏻
Pure joy watching him do his thing.
This was really good, stay out the berrics, stay out of braille whatever, thrasher and Peralta is where you should be, skateboarding icons
Hes already competed at the berrics
Don't know why you feel the need to hate on the others. Skateboarding is skateboarding, keep that negative energy out
the world doesn't revolve around andy, he goes where people want him to be
How about don't tell him where to go or what to do? If he wants to skate the berrics or braille what's wrong with that?
