      Tony and Jason are truly like skateboarding Jedis who are spending time to unlock the knowledge of skateboarding and to humanize the sport even further
      This pod episode was beyond skateboarding just like the Rodney Mullen and Nyjah Houston episodes - the masters of the ART talking game and philosophy. The lessons and skills learned in skateboarding are life skills that stretch beyond the board and rail. These are the GOATs across generations and it's literal magic when they collide 🎉🤙❤️

      It was the kind of moment that could change the world. Truly. Young men need to see these examples too. There’s too much fear and anger and BS out there. Makes one think there’s no alternative if you’re not exposed to great human beings taking off their emotional armor in public like this. That was pure divinity.

IIRC When they launched the THPS1+2 Remake and it did decently well they had plans to remake more of the old games. Then Activision decided to move the studio working on the remakes (Vicarious Visions) to their Blizzard team working on the Diablo 2 remake at the time. Vicarious Visions got dissolved into Blizzard and Activision seem to have decided making more remakes or new games in the franchise isn't profitable enough. Thanks Activision, you suck.

The first day they got their boards they were 4 and 6...they rolled to the local park and Andy was there. He took time to chat with them and showed them a few tricks. More than that he is what you see. Dude is chill and genuine, creative and intelligent, and just humble. Proud he's a White Rock Local oldschool. Also thankful for what skateboarding has taught my kids and myself, as someone who did not grow up skating. It’s not just about being sad, but also happy. I’ve been overwhelmed and stimulated so hard from music, moments of victory, and intense nostalgia with all of this combined.
      Watching my favorite childhood TV shows again, even just the Intro to futurama can make my eyes start to leak 🥹

    Imagine a video game where you skate with Andy and you travel through time to learn tricks from all those that came before in their iconic spots

    • @wadeharrell8030
      @wadeharrell8030 2 месяца назад +12

      @mrwalter7768 I keep thinking about it... the game starts right after you make your character and do your first kickflip, an old future Andy shows up and says you are destined to be a legend, but first you have to learn. He takes you to a contest and you fail hard, then he takes you back in time to learn some tricks, then back to do the contest again. That is the cycle, and as you progress Andy gets younger until the final contest, named after the game itself, and you are competing against andy.... the whole game he was teaching you how to beat him

    • @wadeharrell8030
      @wadeharrell8030 2 месяца назад +7

      And the more you do tricks the more the lines for doing them show on your board, so playing the game is not just history but also physically teaching you how to do tricks in the real world

    This is what people are missing about the world right now. So caught up in the “shadow” side of humanity when history is also converging to produce human beings like Andy Anderson. You could use the word authentic to describe him and it wouldn’t touch what he is and what he’s sharing with the world. Truth is probably the better way to describe him.
    I have so much love in my heart for Jason and Tony. Jason’s ability to get vulnerable right there was nothing short of magic. Tony’s ability to stay curious, humble and passionate in spite of his mega stardom. THAT is true masculinity and true power that all young men should emulate.
    Andy represents the divine masculine, the evolution of the modern “renaissance man.” He’s the artist and the athlete. The scholar in action. Projecting his beautiful mind into the world with no sense of selfishness. At the same time nor does he pose as perfect. Because the imperfection is the container for the divine.
    I’ve blathered on enough, but thank you Jason and Tony. You will never know how much this show has meant to me. How it inspired me to start skating again after over 30 years away from it. How it’s helping me shed the 30 pounds of weight I gained over the last 3 years I’ve spent mostly cloaked in darkness and suffering.
    You guys were holding a portion of the light at the end of the tunnel. I am eternally grateful for the time and energy you put into this and into the community we all love. THANK YOU

    I met Andy at a summer camp in 2009 when we were kids and he bombed the hill doing a one-foot manual. I went and asked for his name because I knew he was skating like nobody I had ever seen. He’s the nicest dude. Then I ran into him again years later at a grocery store and we talked about skating for like 15 minutes while I was supposed to be working. So happy to see his success

More men need to know that it is ok to feel and bottling it up is so unhealthy. Feelings are meant to be felt it's in the fucken name!!! People go through shit and overriding and ignoring isn't how you deal with trauma, acknowledge it and work through it, a good support system is key too, good friends and family NOT isolation. Much respect from NZ.

    When Jason gives Andy his respect 1:13:55 (which he had been giving him the whole time) it made me realize why I love Jason more than I got before. He’s always a sweet heart but idk here, he’s himself, cocky, goofy, head-strong, and yet he always appreciates the good in life, the love, and just God in everything. It’s all love with Jason and he’s good at pointing out all the love in Andy. Tony hawk just exsist on that wavelength constantly. That wavelength being, be the person you can be all the time, and just love. Love y’all!
