There's some spoilers in this episode so if you want to watch Andy’s new part first, follow this link: ruclips.net/video/vRj11yZO9Ck/видео.htmlsi=WUL7YwOLvA2oloU9
I've been watching skateboarding vids since Blind Days when I was a teen, that part Andy just put out was one of the single most creative things I've ever seen done. That was true Art, belongs in the Smithsonian of Skateboarding.
A good episode would be proffessor schmid and Andy on the same episode and Andy explaining his board to him, that would be amazing
@@user-qb3tn6hm5hthat would be pretty cool but the Professor likely already knows exactly what he's working with. Also, Paul doesn't press Powell Peralta boards. So even if he had some input for Paul it's not like Paul could really help him. Although it would be interesting just to hear how he thinks about certain things and how Paul translates it.
@@thenineclub I’m waiting for the day him and Rodney have a session together….on video of course! The world needs to witness that.
@@MycoMattyI know Paul doesn't press powell boards but it would be cool to hear his thoughts flight boards construction and why Andy has it that shape.. I'd be curious just to hear if he has any helpful ideas Andy can use..
It's pretty cool to see how the haters, including myself, got swayed to love Andy Anderson. At first, a lot of people, me included, didn't really get his whole vibe. His unique style and quirky personality made him stand out, and not always in a good way. But as time went on, his insane talent on the skateboard and his genuine niceness started to win everyone over. Andy's skills are off the charts, and he's one of the nicest guys you'll meet. Bit by bit, even the toughest critics, like me, started to appreciate what he brings to the table. Love you Andy
Daaamn Deville !! Straight from the heart ! Love you man !! Thank You
Get a room you two!
I agree with Deville and I'm actually sort of selfishly sad Andy's going to win over haters. For those of us who've been day ones, I think he always felt like our own little secret.
But any and all love is well deserved and long overdue. Andy embodies virtually every single thing I personally love about skateboarding: individuality, passion, and creativity. I believe only good things can come from more people coming to understand that.
I've always had a dislike for you Deville for some reason and couldn't figure out why but noticed in NKa vid at the premier that you seemed happier and a bit more trustworthy. Maybe Andy is helping you grow
Thanks for introducing us Deville. The world would not be the same without that intro 😂🙌
Even Joa's jaw was dropping! Undeniably great tricks
Working on this project with Andy & Benny has helped me love editing again. 😇🙏
You sir are a amazing filmer mad props to capturing some wild skateboarding

I’ve been installing and repairing hydrants for 18 years. Whatever you need I can provide it and set it up for all your Natas needs
How do you save a comment for later ;)
@@authenticandyandersonnow it's in your notifications....
Ahh a true believer
Wouldn't it be wonderful to have Rodney Mullen give commentary as he watched Andy's new video part?
Man, my thoughts exactly!!!
😂 yes lol
Even better to have the original Powell team all of them watch it and commentate
that would be so epic somehow this needs to happen
@MD76MAC Yes please!
His love for skateboarding is a sight to behold. Amazing skater and human being.
I bought the grip tape last week and had it shipped to Australia. I couldn't find it in any AU shops; I may be the first one down under to have this tape. Setting up my new Chocolate board on Friday night. Just in time for my 61st birthday!
Very cool! Have a great 61st birthday!
61! Damn I need to get out there
I started skating way before Andy was born, then was on a “little” hiatus for a couple of decades.🤦🏻♂️ Now I’ve skated again for 6 years and meeting Andy and having him in my corner is such a huge privilege and I’m inspired by him more every video I watch and every chat we have!
I had a twin board before, too, but getting his Heron 2 changed it all for me and now I have my own board inspired by it and I’m extremely happy every time I step on it. Much love Andy and much love Nine Club for enabling these kinda deep dives with the best people!
We need you on the nineclub
Respect. 🫡 bro.
Same I was 12 and already had been skating for 5 years when Andy started skating. I quit skating around age 20 and had a hiatus through high school played football it took all my time. But now I’ve been skating for 4 years after a 10 year hiatus. And I keep getting better way better than when I was young, but I skate a different way now. Awesome to see others always that are similar and remember how much they love skateboarding and bring it back into their life. It’s an addiction for sure. - a positive one
I LOVE YOU DARUDE !!!❤
You are a legend my friend. Hope you are well.
@@authenticandyanderson Lil bro, right back at you! ❤️
I went from hating on Andy to really admiring him. A very passionate and honest soul who has an enormous love for skateboarding. Will always be a fan now. Great guest
I still hate him, fuckin cornball. A helmet, crustache, garbage kit all around and wack trick selection=🤮
He seems a little self absorbed, but I think a lot of that just comes from his passion more than any ill intent.
AA is changing skating and it can't be ignored anymore, his latest part is going to inspire the next generation for years to come :)
Appreciate the shoutout Andy! Hope ya come again soon!
Chris and Kelly it was nice meeting you guys! The premiere was so much fun!
It totally made my day, got to meet Andy and Dan, and then to accidentally discover how to finish a trick even Rodney Mullen was trying to figure out? It was a great day.
Last year too! Filming the Levi Loffelberger courthouse clip…
It’s been so much fun!
Andy tried not to spoil it, so I won’t either, but that trick has potential. Can’t wait to see how far he takes it.
Stay safe and keep skateboarding dank!
Honestly, the break down of “what do I own from this part?” was profound and smart. Skaters don’t make money from video parts that take months if not years to film. They, hopefully, make money from people being stoked on their skating enough to buy the products they use.
I’m not a big collectibles guy, but I do enjoy collecting decks which have personal/artistic meaning to me. His ABD collabs is a smart idea, might pick up a pack of cards just to support!
Thank you !!!
@@authenticandyanderson you bet, Andy! Thanks for getting me excited to skate
The new part was fucking amazing 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Smiled ear to ear for the whole 12 minutes of Crazy Wisdom, Andy is a phenom and such a likable dude!
Andy is always such a great guest, I wonder if Powell sells a complete of his with the nano cubics and the grip tape? If they dont they should.
It’s a no brainer, they really should. An Andy complete, with maybe a slight discount because every component comes from SkateOne themselves, would sell major numbers.
Smart idea
Also need an 8.25 model. The models they have are canoes.
Andy’s our Canadian national treasure.
Andy is one of the reasons I picked up a board for the very first time at 28 years old.
He made it look easy and fun. And while I’ve found out how hard skating is, it’s just as fun as he made it out to be. Absolutely loved his part 🛹
Yeah you’re definitely the target audience
This guy is the definition of authentic. What a genuine guy
Listened at work, rushed home to watch the part, now watching the interview. I LOVE ANDY he is such a true artist on a skateboard.
The way Andy sees skateboarding is truly amazing he’s a cool dude.
I know Rog was biting his tongue when they were talking about how "good" the iphone footage looked.
Totally, fuckin disrespectful to real filmers
@@sooperheep disrespectful to andy too. i know he doesn't really care but holy fuck filming that darkslide on the snake rail and the ender with the chain with an iphone is criminal. the ender looks like 480p quality. all because he has a lazy filmer that doesn't want to carry a camera around. fuck that guy.
@@sooperheepCasey niestat would laugh at you. His philosophy is use whatever to get the shot love that they did it that way, shows you anyone can if you’re good enough
I get that. I’ve always saw it like this, you could have a killer song writer play an amazing show with a shitty guitar and no sound system, but it still translates, just like somebody could have all the top end gear and production, but their music is still shit.
Maybe this deserved some better production value, but the part still is amazing and shines through the iPhone footage, imo.
@@sooperheepNigel’s a real filmer and filmed many video parts for many real skaters lmao
Andy for SOTY, his part is EPIC 🛹🛹🛹
SOTY is bullshit, you can only win if you're a hive mind trend following dweeb. The fact that Nyjah didn't win last year is a travesty and just proves it's all a pointless charade.
You good? BHDW2 …..
Nyjah and Andy will never win SOTY.
Thrasher likes to give that to more crusty skaters.
Top of the board soty -
Been a skater since I was like 7 or 8 and thought I grew out of it and was mostly just longboarding for the last 10 years thinking I was too old to pick it back up. Andy has reignited my passion. Thank you Andy!
that sataN spin is something else. the sliiight tic tack is clean af. love to see it.
Can't wait to catch the premiere tonight! Andy is such a good dude and it's always a pleasure to see him on The Nine Club!
I remember The Donger drew lines on his grip for tricks too, he broke down how he kickflipped in Thrasher once and that shit stuck with me for the past 30 years haha
Nano cubics are an incredible wheel, great urethane and theyre made in SB. They really helped me learn to skate the way I do and ill never need another kind of wheel. Thanks for your innovation andy
As guitarist, AA comparing music theory to grip tape/flip trick theory is genius. It makes a ton of sense, and will probably help a lot of people progress faster.
Also the part was seriously insane!! A vert line? Wtf.
Been an Andy fan for a long time, he always reminded me of one of my hometown friends. So cool to see him grow as a skater and professional in general, really inspiring to see.
lol. I have an old sk8 bud that is just like Andy as well, even looks like him.
I keep hoping that one day we might see Andy and Rodney sit down and talk skating. I won't hold my breath, but that would be amazing!
I dig his passion & his relatability with the love of skateboarding & like Paul’s saying the willingness to try ideas and have fun skating, it’s contagious and awesome and… I’m doing a colab with Andy’s new grip tape & Chris’s chocolate board video coming out soon 😎 Don’t stop and it won’t stop
D riding so hard
His yoga mat handrail was illegal and he should be arrested.
@@galvanizedgnome It wasn’t his yoga mat handrail nor was it illegal 😂 I believe you meant to say his yoga mat wrapped around a handrail was legit. What he achieved was no more illegal then someone walking down the stairs, he didn’t damage any property, didn’t get hurt, and eloquently landed a legendary trick like a professional. He landed a trick that he’s been dreaming about and you think he should be arrested for achieving his dreams? He will be celebrated and will be an inspiration for everyone not to give up on their dreams. So wipe your mouth
This is like a multi-part symposium in an art history class, breaking down a performance art piece. The end (of this video) does a good job describing Andy's two-year timeline of experimentation with wheels, board shapes, and trick concepts and approaches. This story provides background and context to the composition of the live release show (on NKA's channel, or PP). That installation was a fantastic concept brought to life, with exceptionally relevant artifacts: the skateboards--the egg, the vajra--and the progressively evolving deck shapes.
Andy Anderson is an absolute artist. Now it's time to rest, friend. We did it. (I mean you did, really)
Big shout out to Nigel for capturing all of Andy's wildness in Crazy Wisdom! If you haven't seen it, go check it out and prepare to have your mind blown!!!
Took a slam gonna be out of action for atleast 2 weeks. Perfect time to catch up on these podcasts.
Andy is a Legend man, dudes got such a good vibe too.
The Zenga Bros are coming and everybody's jumping! New York to San Francisco! an intercity disco!
Let's goooo! Thanks guys, Andy's the man!
I like how nerdy it got about skateboard shapes, flicks and tricks and stuff. I love detailed analysis like that.
Respect to Andy for going through the shit he put himself through. The way his brain works is miles above! God bless brother 🙏
Andy had officially reached my top 5 favourite skaters after his madness
Not me at 1:30am with a huge bowl of baby carrots watching this until the end like butter because Andy is so easy and fun to watch 💯✨
Love watching Andy skate.
Fun fact: Every time someone mentions Neen’s heel flip, an angel gets its wings.
Chris in that fresno smith clip is hilarious. Sprinting in from off screen for the high five and then visibly fucked up from hype😂😂 shit had me rollin’
We keep saying that we watch parts that come out only once. But andys new part I'll be rewatching tons of times. That part is something special
Christopher saying that Andy's freestyle line wasnt that hard is hilarious. 😂 "there was only 2 hard tricks and the rest were easy" , he says! Lmao.
Salute Andy Anderson.
Some of the tricks in his new part are Mind Boggling ❤

I bought that Jeremy Wray trasnsworld vhs when I was a kid. I wish i still had that.
I wish I still had his V4 Audios like I did after watching him on starting point. He's still such a huge inspiration for me.
We must protect Andy Anderson at all costs ❤
He does a pretty dope job of protecting himself.... but I agree w you. Amazing human
Bro..."Crazy Wisdom" is unreal. Killer tricks--there's so much "fun" and "joy" to what Andy's doing out there. And, of course, I love seeing the struggle! Soundtrack is great, too! Sign me up for those cards! Sounds sick!
His new part is crazy good! A modern day pioneer who is evolving skating and blending everything into one style. Seems like a genuine guy
this was awesome ! Cheers lads and grats to ABD and Andy !

I knew I needed something right now, but I didn’t realize it was a three hour podcast with Andy Anderson
this guys sees skateboarding on another level, and the way he able to articulate is incredible
Andy can come back as often as he wants and I will never get bored of watching! 💚
I just ordered the baby heron flight deck. It will be the first flight deck i have ever had and it will be the first one i ever skate. Im so hyped and i cannot wait to finally skate it. I really want to try all of your shaped decks and your inventions andy Anderson

Dude.. Andy is awesome man.
Andy’s part is so rad, I’m glad yall got him back to go in depth on it! I’ve been on those nano-cubics since they came out, I have a Vajra on 52s I love, and a 101 natas deck on 60s, and a panther 2 on mini-cubics, so I really felt seen in this one lol. I do feel the need to be the trivia police on the dark slide though - Gonz did one caveman before Rodney, but Rodney developed the flip in and out.
Yooooooo!!!!!! Crazy wisdom was🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🎸🎸

Right. I remember hearing rumors about that & the nbs for at least 3 years before I saw it in video.
@@ivantwopairs1766 so are you saying you saw video days 3 years later or you heard about darkslides in 1987
the iphone footage is unacceptable. someone needs to have a sit down with him. the dark slide on the snake rail and the ender. it's unacceptable for tricks of that caliber to be on a fucking phone. the last clip was like 480p quality.

@@NkaVidsSkateboarding embarrassing
Concensus seems to be ‘who tf cares so long as the shot itself looks good’ - but visual nerds like music nerds will have a harder time looking past that
It’s the best example of how entitled and lazy skateboarding has become.
I hope that everyone has an amazing and memorable summer and safe travels and skateboarding throughout the years. 🍀♾️❤️🔥
He has been working
The stories behind the tricks give me new perspective and increase my appreciation of the skate part. Thanks for that.
I got super lucky as a Swatch collector I was invited to NYC for a watch release party and it just happened that Andy was there and one of the Swatch higher ups knows that I got into Swatch watches through skateboarding in the 80s and introduced me to Andy. He was humble and friendly even showed me his new graphic before it was released and his wheels he was working on. Still get a smile as I think of our conversation.
Rodney Mullen invented the darkslide after he started street skating. The first most people see of the darkslide is the opening of his part from Virtual Reality (1993), which is Rodney's second ever street part.
He was actually doing them in Questionable before Virtual.
You might be thinking of Casper slides. But thank you for triggering a rewatch of Questionable.

With the bearing/hub placement it’s usually referred to as centerset, sideset and offset. Offset and sideset wheels have been heavily used in the downhill skateboarding scene.
