Glad that you liked north Karnataka meal, they might have toned down the spice level to Bengaluru, but the real thing hits hard. Most of the dishes are simple as everything is grown locally in the north Karnataka region. The spice in the north Karnataka cuisine has a slight curve of balanced flavour with the spice unlike other cuisines where the chilli hits hard and destroys the taste. Happy Eating ✌️

I don’t know about other vegetarian food but I love lingayat food. Nothing beats the simplicity like curd mixed with shenga chutney( apologies if I have typed any spellings wrong m)

Hi guys, damn I was not expecting that you would try Uttara Karnataka food. Food from this region, much like Uttara Karnataka itself which was ignored compared to other regions of Karnataka, now it is gaining popularity because of its health benefits. Born and brought up in Uttara Karnataka and have been working in professional kitchen from over a decade. Few are the points to know about this regions food which may differ slightly from place to place:
-most outlets mellow down spice level ,cause they want to cater the bangalore locals. Just think of Indian food in London.
-in general food is a bit on spicer side which varies depending on which part it is from.
-dry chatnis play a critical part and adds to complete the meal think of chatnies made.of peanuts, flexseeds, etc and is usually mixed with curd.
- jowar roti is super healthy cause it's easy to digest (no gluten) and always topped with home made white butter(never amul or whatever butter 🤦) and butter milk is served along with the food.
- sweets are served first (holige/huggi) along with fried crisps, cause it takes lot of time and energy to prepare these on special occasions, so at home it is served first so that everyone can enjoy it to the fullest and don't skip dessert.
- Vegetables are always seasonal and leafy veg is must along with sprouted legumes subjies. Salad is must.
- 99% of the food is vegetarian. Notable non veg food is influenced by sauji cuisine which again is spicy and delicious. Mostly enjoyed with kadak jowar roti which nicely soaks up the spicy non veg gravies.
-lastly only cuisine/food which still is not been diluted or f***ed by fusion chefs.

We have never been to Northern Karnataka, but this was a superb experience to begin with.
Awesome ambience and the background music was just complimenting the food review. It gelled really well guys. Food looked amazing from this side of the screen 😀.

Nalapak food is not that spicy ..if you go to the proper nk family or nk restaurant in North Karnataka it's far more spicy and tasty that you can ever imagine..the thecha in Maharashtra or in nk we call it as mensikai chatta is out of the world ..good that you tried our cuisine but I would call it as semi alternated cuisine of nk it's not authenticate..it's blended for Bengaluru ppl not authentic as pure nk mess

This nalapaka hotel in Rajajinagara is worst. Too costly 250/for one meal. Better food we get in basaweswara hotel in malleswaram only Rs. 80/full meals. Waste of time and money
