@@peacegaming9428 Having had a 2012 A8L and having repairs to suspension, etc at just 4 years old . it was not cheap to fix, nor should thing have broken as such low miles (39,000). ater Having a 4.0 TT A8 2019model I bought with 19,000 miles I this time paid 3500 for an extended warranty. at 16 months later at 27 K a $7K in major engine repair. Oil intake filler cracked sending oil and wrecking many things. I love these cars, but a warranty is critical unless you can wrench on them yourself. My car is garage kept well maintained. They can upset you unless you have the means to fix them. The warranty paid most of it.
@stevehammes No worries...I had figured that was the case... BTW: today I bought a 2011 Mazda3 i Touring. I'm super-happy with it! Thanks for your reviews/input - it's a sweet drive!
@radudeATL One of my frequent commentators...bg1379 brought an editorial error to my attention so I had to reedit the piece and stick it back up. My bad.
That's somewhat the point. Audi goes for understated elegance. Audi buyers are those that are affluent but don't like to show off. Being able to drive or ride in a very high end auto that won't attract a lot of unwanted attention is a big plus, whereas driving around in a flashy car just makes you look like a douche.
only 100k????? Gee's i'd love to pay that kind of money for an A8 in Australia.. My Q7 cost me 140k. My Q5 cost me 90k! My brand new A6 cost me 130k and my S3 cost me 80k as well!!!! 100k for a car is NOTHING!!!
@swaggerchampp It is getting bad at BMW, but it's not as bad as Audi. Even Audi's SUVs are almost indistinguishable from their Estate cars and Hatchbacks.
Looking at this car, after 10 years and at the new audi A8 makes me feel sad. What a great looking car this compared with these toys nowadays. Plastic toys compared to this. Goes the same for Mercedes and BMW
i sat in one of these new A8s. Its overpriced and the build quality of the interior was terrible, everything around felt cheap. S classes and 7 Series will continue dominate sales in this market segment ; Audi isn't a desirable brand in the A6-A7-A8 range
Im getting this finally can afford after 8 years lmao
😀 Congratulations, i can feel your pain. 😭. In UK you can get for 8k to 12k now.
Me too and it took me an extra 3 years of depreciation lmao
@@frameofmind229 us bro
Steve,
I'm jealous of your work, dude. Comparing contemporary cars and this Audi A8, or wish list dream machines (cars over $75K).
It's a beautiful vehicle.
Thanks to depreciation, I can now afford this vehicle lol
Getting this as my first car. Found a great deal for $14500 at 83k miles
How did everything work out? I’m thinking about doing the same.
@@bigbill777william6 It sold the day before I planned on checking it out😂 I’m driving a 2011 328i and it’s been great
@@trapulizer lmao that’s terrible, glad you found a nice bmw instead
@@trapulizer I think I may be the one who bought it where was seller located?
I have one. Save up for the repairs costs.

I am finally able to buy it after 10 years 😀
Me too. I picked up a '13 A8 4.0 for $21k
With 90k miles and a stage 1 tune.
I like the A8 more than the 7 series. A8 looks more excectuive than 7 series
Don't know who you're calling an idiot, but Audi does sell cars without quattro. Ever hear of FrontTrak?
awesome review! but I wanna see some numbers too. ur good at reviewing car dude
Yes

great review sir!
The people who are calling him a idiot cant afford an audi A8 :)
You tell 'em, Alex ;-)
@@stevehammes I'm getting one in a week so I feel like I have the power to say that Haha
You are correct. I was joking around. Although, If you just to to a dealer and buy and Audi, it's going to be a Quattro.
I own one of these, had it chiptuned as well
@djensoer it's not to lock the doors its the tweeters for the sound system, I'm an Audi guy
3:13 that's what makes Audi great. Great luxury without giving up sportiness
@radudeATL One of my frequent commentators...bg1379 brought an editorial error to my attention so I had to reedit the piece and stick it back up. My bad.
@djensoer no, it are some speakers of the Bang & Olufsen sound system
Plus, they sell a front-wheel-drive version of the A8 (which is obviously not Quattro).
@305pride Ha, ha! That's test-driver Chris playing the role of pedestrian for the demo of night vision.
Hey Steve. Thoughts on the s8?
Believe it or not, I don't believe I've ever driven an S8.
@robbyjai what do you do for a living? i'd love that job
5 people cant afford it including me but I'm not hitting the dislike button
because the A8 does lift itself if required, as seen in that sequence
@radudeATL hey when are you doing the new focus really waiting on a good review before i go buy the car :)
1:52 why does the car look lifted?
In Australia..Vehicles are almost two times more expensive..When one is down under it takes more money to get..

if u want power and a BOSS looking car just get the S8 looks the same but 535 Hp WIN!
I thought there was a W12?
You must have forgotten about the current base model A4 2.0T with the CVT and front wheel drive... or the A3 TDI and 2.0T...with front wheel drive
@khunopie Steve liked it so much, he had to review it twice! :-)
99% of people here cannot afford this car
