You can tell Colin Farrell’s having the time of his life with this character. I believe he’s said it’s some of the most fun he’s had with a role.
Despite having just a few scenes, Colin Farrell was the MVP of The Batman, so I love that he'll get an entire show to himself before the sequel.

The laugh at the end after he caps him is just perfect, walks the line perfectly of being a fun villain without being too over the top

Turning the Penguin into Gotham's version of the Sopranos was one of the most creative directions they could've taken with this show. I'm hyped and have full confidence that Matt Reeves knows what he's doing with this universe.
Facts. Taking cues from Nolanverse helps. Keeping it gritty and dark.

"copying this other show was one of the most creative things they could have done". There's also nothing particularly creative about copying Penguin as he has been portrayed in the comics for decades. Don't get me wrong, it looks great.

This should have a scene with batman but from the prespective of the criminals getting taken out one by one with batman in stealth god mode.

The casting of Colin Farrel as the Penguin is equivalent to the casting of Heath Ledger as the Joker. It just feels right!

I love the way their handling the Elseworld Batman storyline. If this turns out good, which it probably will, then I think it's safe to say that the Dawn of DC is here!
Dude hands down had my favourite moment in the Batman movie, he's a gangster, a mobster who's probably killed plenty of times before we see him. Gotta be a sociopath on some level but he still squirmed when seeing the photos of the riddlers victims. "What are you showing me!? Come onnnnn." Just that moment was pure gold. So im ready for more Penguin.
His take on the Penguin is amazing! Very charming, and a bit goofy, while having this violent rage hidden underneath

I love Farrell's interpretation because the real Penguin is a gangster and not a deformed monster like Burton's. I hope the Falcone family still has an important role

I'm almost certain one of the people in this trailer is Sofia Falcone. So the Falcone's will likely still be involved. I can see them introducing Harvey Dent as well. Maybe Cobblepot is tryna have him in his pocket but Harvey is kinda incorruptible (until you know what). Series looks really cool tho. Sopranos vibes lol.

I am wondering, why does this phenomenal actor not have LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of awards of recognition? He is downright amazing in everything he does
I don't get it either. But I suspect it's down to the films he chooses. He doesn't really go for stuff that is award bait and normally works on indie films that are bit more unconventional. It's one of the reasons I respect Colin a lot as an actor.

I've always liked Colin Farrell and knew he'd be one of the best in the business since I watched Phone Booth and Tigerland ages ago, plus he already has experience playing the lead in an HBO show (True Detective season 2), which a whole lot of people hated on for the simple fact that it wasn't a carbon copy of season one when it wasn't meant to be considering it's an anthology series.
What I love about the penguin in batman series is that he is often considered as nessasary evil. If I have to share my home with one of the batman villains, I'd choose to live with the penguin

I would love to see the ventriloquist and black mask here as well :D Not sure in what season or in what degree but having the Carmine, Maroni and later Sionis would be an amazing start.

The similar gritty tone and visual cues as in The Batman, the action and tense scenes, this is looking pretty good. I can't wait to watch this series, watching him go from an unknown to one of the biggest crime bosses, he is Oswald Cobblepot. He is... The Penguin.

This is giving me hella “comic book Sopranos vibes” and I’m loving every second of it. Can’t wait, Farrell is a phenomenal actor and had arguably the greatest year of his career (2022) happy to see him having a nice comeback, not that he went away necessarily, just took a step back for a while.
Sopranos is way more comedic. This is closer to Boardwalk Empire.

I went into "The Batman" almost completely blind. All I knew was that Robert Pattinson from "Twilight" was playing Batman. I didn't know who else was in the cast & I think I only watched the trailer once. As a lifelong Batman fan, I was blown away. Even after sitting theough the entire almost 3 hour movie, (which didn't feel like 3 hours cause I was so immersed in the world that Matt Reeves had created) I had no clue that Colin Farrell was the guy playing the Penguin until the end credits rolled. I say all that to give you a sense of just how brilliant his performance was. My man deserved to win some sort of award. Can't wait for this series to drop this year followed hopefully by The Batman sequel next year. Well done to Matt Reeves & his entire team.
Me too I always remember that day I went on March 6 2022 I was stunned couldn't believe what I was watching. I went to little Caesars right after got the batman calzony. Then I got the batman t shirt and hat. I can't believe it's already been two years.
I really hope they bring in Black Mask into this and portray him right.

Phenomenal performance by Colin Farrell, and the team put together by Matt Reeves creating this world.
This is real story telling, this is the way you get the audience invested. If the Penguin is this good, i can only imagine what the Joker will be like. I Can't wait for this!!!!!!!

Never thought I would be hyped for TV series about the Penguin, but here we are...
i was actually looking for this since the penguin was always beeing depicted as the punching bag villain from the rogues galery he was never complex two face or mr freeze, or menacing like ra's al ghul or the joker, he was always a funny mobster bully that gets his punishment , that is not to say its bad but it gets boring for a while. So actually doing a series to give him more layers than just a villain with napoleon complex makes some scense

And with these kind of prosthetics, imagine what Matt’s take on Clayface will be like. I’m assuming he will use the same technology used to make Colin Ferrel the Penguin, to make his masks of his victims. And I’m guessing that he’ll use clay to make those molds, which will leave faint clay reside on the victims faces, giving this take his name, Clayface

This show is 100% going to be amazing just because of the fact if it was a fan favorite character it would have been rushed and not that good but since it’s for a character like penguin that not a lot of people know or care about it’s definitely going to be good like why would he write a show on a character the average audience wouldn’t really care for if he didn’t have great ideas for the show
