This is so useful to me because I have the same issue of strong grip and was worried as everybody tends to correct me to neutral but does not feel comfortable and does not give me the desired results. Big up to strong grip.
I love this video as i have had a break from golf for 8 years and played low hcp with this grip, but returning to golf with a more neutral or weaker grip i have spent 4 months on the range absolutely frustrated with consistency and shanks etc cause i have too many swingthoughts trying to change ... could not even play 9 holes without loosing a lot of balls ... so last week i decided to go back to the way i felt years ago without swingthoughts and my strong baseball type grip (my left hand is not that strong) and just giving my self one thought at setup to give myself room in the backswing, rotate and follow through resulting in my old babydraw shots ... and now i can go at the pins again 😊 ... early extending is the killer with this grip 😊 ... by the way i am 59
Last weekend l was at the range and l tried this and holy molly l was hitting the ball like l never before and even 3 different people came over and complimented my swing. l am an aggressive swinger and this fits perfectly you are correct when l tried to lay off it was pulling left with a hook/draw. l mean my 7 iron was 180 easily on the fly and now l know why. Knowledge is Power! Thank you.
this is awesome i have a very strong grip as well and my coach was experimenting with me using a neuitral to weak grip and i could not get the face closed just slice city or barely any cxontact. nice to hear in the word of a pro why strong is ok
the more the hands come through first the more the club face opens. Than add body rotation to square at impact. It's in the video around 130 mark as well
Question is can you sustain this type of swing into your older ages? You could tell the pro wanted to say more about the excessive strong grip. Also, I am going to go out on a limb and say you developed this swing because you had trouble either slicing the ball and/or making contact. Notice the pro said he would teach Jr’s and women to have a strong grip?
I´m 54 with an even stronger grip, no problem! Ball speed around 160. Gives a very consistent swing :-) I'm also overlapping with 2 fingers just to get the club to release better, works for me....
Ask Tiger…..this guy said a few times if you’re young enough where you can rotate fast enough its fine, but remember speed is in the hands, to rely on body rotation for speed is going down the wrong road.
I can see how people swing the club metal or weak and can imitate it but my body just understands swinging anything with strong grips. Impact doesn’t hurt with heavier tools. A weak or vestal grip gets difficult so heavy things so I just run with what I know
Well done! Happy to hear a swing teacher say, it works for you don't change it! Only negative, the guy needs to stop cutting off the swing coach!
Right on

I have a crazy strong grip too, so seeing the club closed as hell out in front of you was wild lol
I learned a very strong grip from Shawn Clement.
Me too
Fascinating grip.
This is awesome news, that a strong grip isn’t “wrong”. #StrongAFGrip here too.
Lets go!
How does this guy not have 100k subs?!
Because the editing needs a lot of work. Paused video and glitches throughout.

@@beerdygeek I thought it was my phone messing up at first, but then it got noticeable midway through the video

Yup good to hear the other opinions!
I have a strong like this and love how it feels. It's definitely from my baseball background that I feel more comfortable.
This is great! Do you close the clubface a bit before address to square it on the impact? Wonder how your set up is.
How do you not hit the ball very low with so much forward shaft lean de lofting the club?

love it! Time to stick with a strong grip!
my exact grip and swing style that has formed naturally
my grip goes strong with wedges and goes weak as irons get longer to a weak grip with driver.
The student needs to talk less and listen more.
Exactly! Like, shut up for a minute, like...
So the student can’t explain how he feels?
Which grip is best if you cannot rotate very well?
Probably neutral

I think it's probably manageable at older age, because everything is bending in a safe direction. I'll know in about 10 years lol

@@patrik.cliffordit must be something about the grip that encourages that. Experimented with that yesterday. Glad to see I’m not the only one

If you are used to strong then your body has adjusted, then take a neutral grip and your swing will give a huge push slice. Theres no mystery.
Oh boy
Does elmo ever stop talking
I mean if it works for you, no reason yo change it.
This dude is so annoying 😂
lol the student is trying to teach the instructor. he needs to get off of you tube, his mind is scrambled
That grip looks horrible lol
