The only connection with the golf club! Hope y’all enjoy

  • @xDerekLFx

Great to start with the basics. One suggestion for the future, if you can do lead hand/trail hand instead of left hand/right hand, it helps us lefties out 🙂

Grant, thank you for your grip description, "the most important lesson in golf.' Unfortunately you left the viewer with some conundrums. You say the interlock grip is for small hands, overlap for large hands. You appear to have very large hands but interlock. Why is this? What is it you feel that puts your hands in that connection? What about grip pressure? What is the purpose of the trigger finger? Where does the thumb of the bottom hand rest and why? Describe the wear you often see on the glove of the average golfer, and why? The devil is in the details. I believe that many instructors for which many things come naturally fail to hit every detail which they simply believe is common sense to the average golfer. If the grip is really the most important lesson go over every minute detail. I have often felt after many years that if golf instructors taught sex education our world would reach zero population. Just some observations from a novice!

I think the bigger hands comment is a little wrong. Thicker digits makes all the difference. My hands are as big as my father's, bone structure wise. His fingers are way thicker (he was a millwright, as it would turn out, hands workouts are hard outside manual labor). He can't interlock, just because he doesn't have the room to do so.

  • @paulsor2244

the bad part about the grip is, small hands should interlock, BUT i have small hands with fat fingers and interlocking does NOT work

No one is a bigger fan of Grant than my girlfriend and I. We put every one of his videos up on the big screen and can’t wait to see that great smile and legendary smooth swing. I clicked on this video because the picture of the two grips he starts off with was my before grip. I have struggled for the last few years trying everything including going to a very technical 5 week school. This video literally fixed everything for me. Driver, chipping and unbelievable iron shots. Omg, almost got a hole in 1 with an 8 iron from 147yds. Thanks Grant and keep these tips coming!

  • @WebbraHD

Please can you do a lesson on a chicken wing and releasing the club? Absolutely killing me out there and hate the way it looks.

  • @MrDvo

The first picture amateur vs pro, if you have that grip as an amateur you need an other teacher as soon as possible lol

  • @coozieray

Great video. I’d love a wrist/hand rotation instruction video! To see the proper way to rotate your hands through the swing. Ties in with the grip so much and I believe it’s one of the most important parts in your swing.

  • @Uncle19

Video request : how to properly rotate the face closed especially on driver. Irons are pure but driver absolutely cannot stop slicing. It’s maddening.

  • @GonnaGoGolfing

Literally had the GG Labs video for Grip open in a tab then just saw this! Love that it was your first video on this channel as well and I am finally gripping the club with the right hand better thanks to this! Can't wait for more content!

  • @B.L.K.S_808

Watching the video with you and Trent Daddy has been one of the biggest help to my game to date. G money, I appreciate you 🙏🏾

  • @2007farenheit

Aye!! The first GH teaches video! I like it! The instruction is simple and easy to understand and follow. Looking forward to more of these! Thanks! And congratulations to James!

  • @michaelbarton5169

I like that "open the fingers" alignment check. For me personally, I like the classic approach of standing behind the ball with hand by my thigh, the club butt nestles into my fingers with the back of my hand vertical, and then everything falls into place from there. Love your content. Cheers!

  • @canalr1980

Thank you for this explanation, my hand and finger pain was stopping me from golfing lately. This feels so much better

  • @twiztidschwartz9292

Just got back from the range and this really helped me. A lot of videos (and sorry if this is confusing) talk about the butt through the fingers and then resting on the inside palm pad. Maybe I was just misunderstanding but resting it on the outside pad really worked wonders. Best I’ve hit the ball in a long time (took a few years off due to work obligations). Thanks Grant!

  • @user-nb5wu5tv9p

Awesome Grant! Absolute best golfer content out there, although no one is perfect you really run a clean program bro! God bless!

  • @spatz813

Love it. Always feel like I saved money every time you give a lesson or tip haha. You are a great tutor.

  • @davidbowser5534

Great presentation Grant! This is going to be a very successful channel for you.

  • @AdamOutdoorsPNW

Thanks Grant, you nailed it with this video. I’m new to getting back into the golf game and I was taught to use an old school weak grip and was slicing and chunking. With this new grip I have a closed face and solid contact. Thanks brother and congrats on your success with the channel 🎉🎉🎉
