    I can testify. Been playing plantation at kapalua all week and I’ve lost so much distance it’s kicking my butt. Did a little tweaking on the range this morning with these tips and had no problem reaching the bottom of 17 fairway from the tee today. Easy 7 iron in from there for an easy par. Up until today, I’ve been having to play around hazard. Huge improvement all day long. Thanks Shawn!

    OK,,,, I have been playing golf for almost 40yrs using the same grip.
    I have never been any better than a 19 handicap but was happy with it.
    Last night I watched this video and went out today taking all I saw in this video..
    I shot a 7 over on a course I have never played...... 😊

    Hi Shawn, I had a ZOOM lesson from you a few years ago. Anyway, I have been slumping for a couple of years (index soared from 4 to 8) trying to get rid of my Early Extension coupled with a short backswing. I watched a couple of your videos and I am happy to say I am back on track. I became the guy you mimic with the motionless legs in cement and totally blocked my hip turn going back. WOW!!! I'm getting my butt to the target and the ball is soaring long and straight again! I just played a round at La Costa (down the street from me and soon to host the NCAA Mens Golf Championship in June), and hitting accurate irons and longer drives with an EFFORTLESS swing. The giant hip turn feels totally out of control but the results are lovely.THANKS, BRO!!! I am going to resubscribe after a long absence and try to get my brother on board as well. Keep up that cheerful attitude and great teachings, Ned

    Your analogy of hitting with a hammer and using a strong grip makes good sense to me. In fact, when I stand with my arms hanging, the back of my hand naturally faces out about 45 degrees. Where I am confused is that your older grip videos seem to have the lead thumb at the 12:30 - 1:00 o'clock position on the club and, in your more recent videos, like this one, it seems like it would need to be at the 2:00 - 3:00 o'clock position to be as strong as you are indicating. Please clarify.

    One of the most important things this grip does for me is confidence. When I place my hands on the grip like this I feel like I'm goign to hit a solid shot every time. The biggest improvement I saw with this grip was in chipping. The amount of shots that are hit chunky or thin are reduce so much with this grip. I feel like I can clip it perfect every time of a tight lie. What is very interesting about this grip as I don't miss any shots left. I like to get in a door frame with a rubber mallet and make swings with it driving an imaginary nail into the door frame. Then I have a club right next to me and I switch back and forth between the mallet and the club. All the time I'm trying to match the angle of my hands on the mallet with what it looks like when I grip the club. At first it looks like my grip is way too strong but when I hit balls the contact is great. I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible to have a grip too strong.

    Hey Shawn, when you demonstrate the hammer motion, your forearm bones align, creating natural ulnar deviation as you move the hammer away as you show. I think you need to emphasize this feeling more in the golf swing, where the momentum of the arm-club unit is more gradual, rather than forcing it or creating a more artificial wrist cocking action. So I would like to know your view on the wrist movement to begin the swing with the strong lead grip, similar to Sav’s smooth execution as she starts her takeaway. She’s so powerful, yet makes it look so easy :) Make sense??

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes, the ultimate is to deliver deeply through the ball like Juaco Niemann! There is some face on slow motion action of his swing from his win today that is just spectacular!

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 месяца назад +1

      Right on Leon! Something you are not transitioning to with the longer clubs with less distance gains, and that means you are not stretching out the set up to accommodate the longer shafts! On our premium channel, we have a sweet series called “the throwing series” and the wedges are short stop throws vs driver which is “hammer throw”

    The confusing part for me is translating the hammer to the club. If you hammer a nail with the head then you can do it straight up and down or side ways into the wall and the grip stays the same. However, if you take a club and act like you are hammering straight up and down the hozzle hits first as it should. The translation part is that if you hammer sideways into tha ball on the ground you would still hit it with the hozzel??? If you get what I am saying.

    Shawn so with this super strong grip are you consciously trying to hit the ball with your lead hand versus using your right dominant hand?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  7 дней назад

      Hey Steve! Never use body part focus when doing anything physical; when skipping stones, you focus on the stone skipping a certain way and you let it go; in golf, the sole of the club is like the stone, and you let momentum skip along the ground into the direction you want to start the ball; we have a whole series on tasks to use on our premium channel; the stone skip is just one of many; we have cutting stems, sending divots, peeling carrots or planing wood, compressing balls through doorframes etc…one of these will resonate with you and when you get good at the task, which is very simple, you get good at golf! Wisdom in Golf Premium.com enjoy!

    • @stevebutel9088
      @stevebutel9088 7 дней назад +1

      Shawn. At the start of the video you talk about how prior to the strong grip you ‘pushed the chain’ with your right, dominant hand which would lead me to believe that with the strong grip you are more focused on releasing the club with your left hand. Is that not the case?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  6 дней назад

      @@stevebutel9088 when the kinetic chain engages, IT FEELS like the arm-club unit gets pulled through from the ground up; as a dominant right handed person who finally became aware of how I pushed with the right; I clamp down harder with the left but wait for the kinetic chain to do it’s work; a good video is “throw the club straight shawn clément” on youtube.

However, my contact has never been better. If I try to fight this off, my shot is very inconsistent. I’m assuming that this is just my brain reacting to the task at hand.
