    Hands down the best tip for my swing. I have STRUGGLED to release the club and just let it go for so long. Shawn, your channel was one of my first golf channel subscriptions and after years of exploring other opinions, I've come back to your principles to find my swing in the best shape it's ever been by ditching all the other nonsense I feel for. Truly incredible!
    Look no further if you're looking to transform your swing! Just today I was able to hit on the SIM 290+ yard drives. My swing has never felt so free. Thank you for all that you do Shawn!
    I would love for an opportunity to get an in person lesson from you one day. Looking at your plans lately to see how I can push my game further.

    this is gold, been leaving this on repeat to soak it in, because of your other videos- i now carry 220m, which is great for me, im keeping up with the young fellas, this video really clears up where the release should be, i have some good power in my swing put it always feels like im intentionally finishing the power of the swing when my my lead arm meet the lead leg, but the somersault explanation was great, can you tell me the feel of the wrists through the somersault....thanks

    • @golflessons

      Yes, the complete feel of the wrists is fully explained on our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and see the following videos:
      -lead hand release
      -trail hand release
      -release fine tuning
      -snap release polish
      -turbo charge lead hand release
      -turbo charge trail hand release
      -important release update
      Then you go to “target confirmation series” and “the goldilocks series” to tie all of it together. Enjoy!

    Hi Shawn, you and the "kids" are the best. I am hitting the ball well and stick to your instruction to the letter. My question is...I start my driver approx. 12 inches behind the ball which appears almost double the distance of you and Mu. I place it within the track of my club blur and my contact feels excellent and accuracy/distance are great for an old diesel truck. Starting in the blur track gives me the confidence of running into the ball on my way to the target. Am I setting myself up for future problems by starting too far back??

    As always, this is a fantastic video but confusing to a degree in my opinion. The release is the deceleration of the hands/handle that actually does happen at the ball. To describe the position of the clubhead after impact is the RESULT of the release. That feeling of stopping the hands (actually decelerating) happens at the ball if you look at Mu's slow motion at 8:23 you notice his hands slow way down just before impact which releases the club ( like snapping a towel). I'd love to hear your thought's on this.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  5 месяцев назад +1

      Mentally, you don't want to be focused on slowing down at the ball; this is a disaster in the making; so the messaging needs to be very different than what scientists are seeing under their microscopes.
      1-the ball cannot be the target
      2-we collect the ball from where it lies, and release it into the direction we want to start it; (this will explain what you see)
      3-The conscious mind works massively slower than your self preserving reflex system; billions of bits of info per second slower, so you can’t think through a golf swing-so you just look for a nice release into the direction you want to start the ball with momentum.

    I had a slice issue recently, with a strong grip. After watching this I can see I’m doing everything Mu is, except for squaring the face at address with my address stance mimicking an impact stance. Even with a strong grip I had issues closing the face because my handle was leading causing an open clubface that tended to get stuck. It would always be stuck enough that slices were for breakfast lunch and dinner 😅 I then learned that to have the elbow bent before impact was actually good, and straightening the elbow through the ball helped the direction a little but still had issues with pushes to the right. Now after seeing handle leading at address and squaring up to my target only then, would I truly be dynamically squared… my shots are going dead straight every time. I believe your method has erased club-face variables that plague us all with a strong grip.
    One big question I kindly ask of you, would it be more powerful to correct this issue as described here with a dynamically squared address stance… or would it be more powerful to rely on that little bit of upper body rotation to get or club-face from slightly open to perfectly squared? Because I have tried both and both work… but I’m not sure from a scientific perspective which would be more powerful. I will say without a doubt your solution is more consistent and efficient… but I feel like I’m cheating with a closed club-face at address 😅
    Thanks Shawn! I would really love to see some content on Kyle Berkshires driver swing, he uses a lot of the info you teach here, and finding a strong grip guru out here is a rarity so I appreciate your presence and world of knowledge and all that is strong grip golf life. Much love Shawn!

    Maybe it's a case of 'feels vs reals' but as someone who can't hit the ball very far I have worked on this a long time and I have to feel like the head of the club is equal to, or overtaking, my hands at impact, otherwise it's just lag, lag, lag, holding on, no release, no distance (and maybe a big slice to boot).

    • @A.Man..
      @A.Man.. 5 месяцев назад +1

      that somersault point is where you should focus, and play with closing the head

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  5 месяцев назад

      There should never be ANY holding on in the swing; you want to have a full, flat out release into the direction you want to start the ball; and WHEN YOU STAY WITH THIS DIRECTION, YOUR HEAD WILL ANCHOR YOUR RELEASE AND YOU WILL STOP BLOCKING AND SLICING. You definitely have some pre-conceived notions you need to shed and doing it in an ANATOMICALLY CORRECT WAY and without manipulation is key.

    Shawn, I believe Savi is right hand dominant with a left handed golf swing. As I am. But with that powerful swing, is Mu,also??? And do you feel it is a blessing or a detriment to be front arm dominant?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 месяца назад

      Both sides have their advantages! My left handed swing is like Savy and Mu is actually Ambidextrous, just had my PB yesterday with 170 ball speed on driver with 349 yard total; 5 yards uphill too! 👍😀💪 I learned to clamp down on the lead hand with my right handed swing from my left handed one. Best to experience both sides like tennis!

    I have such an issue with over-closing the face at impact.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  5 месяцев назад +2

      Well, most will say that the club feels different in your hands; yes! Differently balanced for sure! BUT WILL THAT PREVENT YOU FROM WHIPPING THE CLUB THROUGH AND INTO THE DIRECTION OF FLIGHT? That would be an emphatic NO. Stick to the ball flight, it does not lie; when you release into the picture 3 times in a row and all 3 times it started right and stayed right? Then the face is SIMPLY TOO OPEN AT ADDRESS! It is simply too late to fidget during the swing as this creates FRICTION through manipulation and your power will be dampened and your effort will increase.

  •  5 месяцев назад +2

    Do u set up with the club closed and a neutral drip or a strong grip with the club closed?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  5 месяцев назад

      Can be any one of those combinations depending upon your needs! What matters is when you deliver through the ball with momentum and over the intermediate point and into the direction you want the ball to start, that the ball flies the way you want it to.

    •  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@golflessons don’t understand? I thought u said wrists are more secure if face is closed with neutral grip?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  5 месяцев назад

      Although this sounds ok, something was lost in translation here; can be closed with neutral, square with strong, somewhere in between and for extreme cases, both closed and strong and for the extreme on the other side, neutral and square

    • @golflessons

      Yes, Money; supply and demand; not enough demand means they won’t make it. I am kind of at odds about demand for 2.5 degree drivers for right handed players too!😝

      Either you are not staying behind the ball through impact (which is staying with the direction of your shot in relation to the blur of the club and the intermediate point-if you don’t have an intermediate point or can see where the blur of the club is passing, you ARE FLYING BLIND) or the grip and club face relationship is too open; see “most important video on grip ever shawn clement” and “pulling shots left shawn clement” videos which are the “important grip update” and “alignment reload” and “blur of club” videos on our premium channel.
