Considering Pyra's character, I'm sure she's a composite of all the "good" traits that Mythra saw from all of the characters she traveled with rather than just one entity. But if I had to choose a character that formed the shell (as someone who hasn't played TTGC yet), I'd actually go with Haze. Primarily because they're both sweet and caring, but it could also explain why Rex was so attracted to her. It's very possible that when he looked at Haze he subconsciously saw another Pyra, even if it was faintly.
Its even more heartwrenching if you think about it. Basically Mythra goes to sleep because of the break down, create Pyra at image of his friends, only to not know Malos was still out there, Jin became a flesh eater and hate everyones because of what Indol did to Lora, Lora dies because Amalthus is a prick, and Haze's got reawaken and use by Amalthus' experiments. She still blame herself for everything, even for Mihail's situation too.
When I first saw Haze in the base game I immediately thought "hey wtf why does she look like Pyra". Glad I'm not the only one who thought those two had similarities.
The most dubious thing about Pyra's awakening that I can think of is how Mythra managed to encode cooking skills into her despite not having any herself. The best explanation I can think of is that she's Aegis and can literally download Jin's cooking skills.
I wouldn’t necessarily agree. Mythra, despite the party’s discouragement, keeps trying to cook throughout Torna. I think it’s after the Tornan Cook-Off sidequest that she unlocks the Miracle Parfait, her first actually edible dish. So Mythra was able to do some good cooking; she just gave up too soon. Maybe Pyra cooked up some 5-course meals for Addam and Minoth during their journey to seal her and the Tertiary Sword away, which gave her enough practice to be a gourmet chef in base game. Since Mythra was dormant during this time, it’d make sense that she didn’t know those recipes or how to follow them.
I don’t think Pyra was based off of Jin. Mythra constantly tried to cook, and it’s later revealed that Mythra has very fond memories of Addam and the group. I always felt that Mythra had secretly wanted to be closer to them. After seeing Torna fall, it seems to make more sense that she used her data processing to decide that the world needed someone who wasn’t her. She wanted to be a good cook, Pyra was a good cook, she didn’t want to shut people out, Pyra was nice and polite, she didn’t want to be powerful, so she made her weaker. It seems like Mythra just wanted Pyra to be everything that Mythra couldn’t be. (I know it’s similar to what you said, and it may have been partially from Jin, but I think it was more off of what she wished she could be and not what Jin or anyone else already was)
I personally always just saw Pyra as an embodiment of all that Mythra isn't. Pyra is gentle and sweet, a good cook, and well liked. Mythra is the complete opposite. She most likely, in her revulsion to her self and her own actions and their outcomes just inadvertently created a personality that was very different and yet everything she desired to be.
@@hamsterman5735 it make sense. Basically Pyra is a composition of Haze's personality, curiousity and sweetness. Jin's manners, maturity and cooking skill. And Bridgid's combat skill and element.

I personally see Pyra as Mythra's idea of "If I was like this, nothing would have gone wrong." But the idea that Pyra's personality was influenced by Mythra's view of Jin does makes sense as well.
Since aegises are likened to being a sentient computer or sorts, I like to think of Pyra and Mythra as being the same PC, but when Pyra was created, it's like putting an additional hard drive in, or creating a partition in a single hard drive.

Something unpredictable, hard to control, and bratty. Mythra’s a bratty teenager because Addam was nervous about being a new parent. I believe Pyra’s personality is Mythra’s Aegis core basically creating a version of herself that Mythra does not hate- A version that wouldn’t have let Milton and Hugo die. Man, I love the Torna Trading Card Game. It's my second favourite after the Miralife TGC. I can't believe I missed the video about Luxin talking about it for two whole years. So underrated.
I legit thought, before the game came out, from the trailer alone (where you see Pyra and Mythra - but the trailer doesn't show that they are "two in one", also Pneuma wasn't a known thing to me back then, either), that every element (there are 8: fire, water, ice, wind, earth, electric, light, dark) would have a girl (Pyra is fire, Mythra is light), like you'd have a whole sailor moon squad in the game >:D Silly, isn't it? But makes me wonder what kind of personalities and appearances would all these (besides Pyra and Mythra) have and speaking of the relationships, there aren't that many archetypes, anyway... Parent-Child, that's one (father and daughter, father and son, mother and daughter, mother and son)... Siblings (brother & brother, brother & sister, sister & sister), that's two... and "Lovers" (a couple, a pair, whatever you want to call that)... There could also be a "master-servant" one, I guess... and some others, too... The parental figure could be uncle/aunt, but also grandparent(s), or totally unrelated (not blood related, not even adopted)... Like, there's only as much you can do with storytelling and characters, because it always boils down to the archetypes, that keep repeating throughout different stories (why the perfect works, xenoGEARS, xenoSAGA, and xenoBLADE have similar themes... and they are written by the same guy, so... yeah)
My take is that Pyra is indeed Mythra's "idealized version of herself" (12:42), but rather than based off of people she looked up to (Jin), Pyra is the embodiment of all her flaws perfected. Pyra was an avatar created by Mythra to manifest what she (inappropraitely) considered to be a better person. While she was rash and impulsive, Pyra would be calm; while she was called a simpleton, Pyra would be looked upon as wise; while she can’t cook to save her life, cooking would be Pyra’s speciality. Most importantly however, as an aegis, she was able to (and did) cause a lot of destruction, but Pyra would be incapable of burning the world a second time. It is because of this that Rex had such a big impact on her. Whiist Addam treated her with respect, as a father would his daughter, it was revealed that Addam was fearful of Mythra’s power. Rex, on the other hand, would embrace Mythra and accept her for who she is-flaws and all. When Mythra and Pyra told Rex to abandon them, Rex told them that he would fullfil his promise to them to go to Elysium together. Realizing that he had left them to walk alone while he stood in the shadow of the Aegis, Rex said, “I’m doing this, for you.” Pyra and Mythra’s reaction to this was all you need to know that their hearts were touched. “I love this world, because you’re in it.” was their response to him, as they were finally able to overcome their fears and come to terms with their vulnerabilities. The result, as we all know, was the birth of the 3rd Monado, a power that even Addam was unable to wield. Just like Pyra, Mythra was dealing with a lot of insecurities. The guilt she holds for destroying so much of the world, and killing so many was immense, and clouded her judgment to the point where the only thing she could do was to shut herself from the world, leaving behind someone she thought would be better for the world. However, even in her uncontrolled rage at the end of the Aegis war, Mythra was shown to shed a tear as she had a vision of her future with Rex, to which all she could say was, “I just want to save,” revealing that gentleness was within her all along; but it would take someone like Rex to get through to her that even someone like her could be loved. Therefore, I must disagree that Pyra is Jin. That is all.
love this game so much, the transition from ... spoilers alert: ... The transition from Torna ending to show Rex's Golden Eyes from base game in the end tho. Reminds me of the first ever driver, Addam having golden eyes too.
Yea I can apsolutly by in to the idea that Mythra baised Pyra's personality on Jin, Lora and potentially other members of the party, but Jin and Lora seams to have has a huge influence on Pyra's personality.
This makes more sense than my previous interpretation: Mythra created a new personality that can cook so she could be a better housewife for some reason??
little late on this, but as Mythra) is the master blade, which contains the data on all other blades, it's not unreasonable to assume Pyra was a new blade from the same crystal. This is further cemented that the AI for Mythra wasn't a single AI, but multiple in a single crystal. So technically if Mythra chose to she could've made multiple new blades, up to but not limited to, one for each element, each with varying levels of power and personality. That might also be why (SPOILERS) they're different people at the end, because the crystal was capable of creating a clone of itself, much in the way it replaced what was physically missing from Malos'
Seeing Mythra and Lora on the same frame made me tought that Mythra created Pyra based on Lora instead of Jin! I mean, both girls are red head with yellow eyes, both use fire for their elements, both are very kind and caring ! To me it's way more obvious than Jin. And of course, pyra represent everything Mythra isn't and all fear she embodies after the events of Torna. Pyra always try to find the most peaceful option and is always ready to savrifying herself.
Ok, this has been bugging me for some time now. I don't...think you understand the meaning the verb to complement XD. I'm not trying to be mean, everything else is great, as always, but come on, complementary means A has everything B does not and vice versa. If Haze and Lora, for example, are the same in pretty much every aspect, then they are the exact opposite of complementary
If this is the case, then it makes[ Spoilers] The end where Pneuma makes Pyra and Mythra as seperate blades after awakening to full power make more sense. If she made Pyra while under the power high from the increased aegis energy she was throwing around against Malos, a final form that can freely manipulate ether should be able to make 2 blades based on data she already has on her.
Idk man... Addam and Mythra.. didn't seem like they were into eachother romantically. It seemed familial or friendly. But when she met Rex, it seemed the bond evolved into love from how things seem with the Chapter titles and the scenes. Rex does hold similarities to Addam, but there are differences between them which is why Rex could handle and perfectly control the full power of the Aegis, whereas Addam could not.
Mothra created Pyrha with all the qualities she wishes she could have, Pyrha is not really based on Jin. Mythra wishes she could cook, so Pyrha can cook. Mythra wishes she weaker, more approachable, more outgoing etc, so Pyrha has those qualities, these are not qualities Jin has. Jin has a lot of broad admirable qualities, but there are many personality, element, and views he has that Pyrha obviously does not take after. It's foolish to think that Pyrha was based on Jin.

Here two years later, here on the exact day
There's nothing wrong with your video lengths. Your explanations are great.
I always saw Addam as more of an older brother figure to Mythra. Also post-torna Jins crystal is red and so is Pyra. Coincidence? I think not.
Coolatypen98 I personally didn’t feel that kind of a relationship between them, but an interesting perspective
Y’know, before PTSD happened XD
You should talk about artifices like how Ophion got controlled after Torna DLC. And why not Gargoyles amd other World Tree Mechs
About to experience Xenoblade Chrobicles for the first time. Picked up a copy on the New 3ds.
Have fun, it's a really good game.
HOLY MOLY
FOR THE ZANZA SAKE THIS VIDS TITLE IS ENOUGH TO SLAY MALOS AND GIVE HIM A BRAIN DAMAGE
I already like this
I would like a blade system explained
History channel at 3 am:
Blade system video?
Can we get this initially as an april fools or something?
Is it just me or does pyra looks alot like lora, nobody seems to be mentioning that
i can see some similarities like lora's default weapon element being fire.
Me: Oh Enel posted a new video, let's see what it is.
Also Me: Sees title, dies.
love this game so much, the transition from ... spoilers alert:
...
The transition from Torna ending to show Rex's Golden Eyes from base game in the end tho. Reminds me of the first ever driver, Addam having golden eyes too.
Mythra awakened a Mary Sue
I've been thinking about this video lately. Funnily Lora even has red haircoulor lol
Gonna say something like Mythra trying to emulate him and his caring side?
me watching the Torigoth blade awakening scene after playing Torna: LeO????!?!!!!
Yea I can apsolutly by in to the idea that Mythra baised Pyra's personality on Jin, Lora and potentially other members of the party, but Jin and Lora seams to have has a huge influence on Pyra's personality.
7:40 mythra says hell naw to this vid
Did... Did we take a spider away from it's family and kidnapped there care taker...?
This makes more sense than my previous interpretation: Mythra created a new personality that can cook so she could be a better housewife for some reason??
About Pandoria being awakened for the first time by Zeke - hasn't Pandoria been used to control Genbu for a while before Zeke came along?
i have a question. could it be that rex was born in the family of addam like over these 500 years or is that highly unlikely?
"Ah, but with those eyes..."
I think it's likely.
little late on this, but as Mythra) is the master blade, which contains the data on all other blades, it's not unreasonable to assume Pyra was a new blade from the same crystal.
I finished xenoblade 2 yesterday and started torna today
Lmao I cant watch any of your videos since I'm only like 8 hours into TTGC I should probably finish that
Could the torna blades be...well first awoken by the torna crew?
Seeing Mythra and Lora on the same frame made me tought that Mythra created Pyra based on Lora instead of Jin!
I mean, both girls are red head with yellow eyes, both use fire for their elements, both are very kind and caring ! To me it's way more obvious than Jin. And of course, pyra represent everything Mythra isn't and all fear she embodies after the events of Torna. Pyra always try to find the most peaceful option and is always ready to savrifying herself.
So.....can malos create another blade??
So basicly Mythra wanna become a perfect waifu but instead change herself to become like one she create her perfect waifu inside herself
Hang on, are you saying that Mythra is technically Pyra's Driver?!
Addams and mythra's relationship seems like anaikins and asokas from clone wars. sorry for bad spelling
Does your back hurt?
TBH Pyra seems based on both Jin and Lora.
Cool vid
If this is the case, then it makes[ Spoilers]
The end where Pneuma makes Pyra and Mythra as seperate blades after awakening to full power make more sense. If she made Pyra while under the power high from the increased aegis energy she was throwing around against Malos, a final form that can freely manipulate ether should be able to make 2 blades based on data she already has on her.
Wait wut?
Lora is 27 not 30
Sadly, Pyra don't take him fighting skills.
360p gang
YAAAaaaaa... ...
just put metaphorically in the title
>TFW I like Pyra
>TFW I don't like Jin in the base game
>TFW I prefer him in Torna
>MFW this video
Guess I have a type.
Was Pyra based??
this that thatsanimegirl shit rn
nah mythra got jealous of jin cooking so put it into pyra
I've been watching you for a long time and I've been meaning to comment this....... You stole my fucking username
But remember, it's just a theory. A Game Theory, thanks for watching!
Uuuhh.. hey Mithra why are you blushing
