@all the warning message on the van is misleading - it is actually the sensor on the sliding door. (Facing the sliding door with the handle on your right) If you open the sliding door there is a plastic sensor to the left. You can adjust the sensor to stick out further so it engages or sometimes its just broken. If you unplug the sensor the cabin lights should turn off.

@@VasylGladun on the newer transits. They get gunked up with debris. Just wipe away the dirt on the terminals with your thumb. Or replace both sides of the switches. They’re like $17 a piece. At least that’s my cost from ford
I have 2020 ford transit and it read the same thing but it definitely was the sensor on the sliding door tightened it up and was good as new

In my case I have clear message "right rear door" and that's exactly the door I was having problems with.

This is correct. The back door will read "rear load compartment door ajar"
I got a 2023 and have the problem with only 800 miles on it thanks for this video
I'm surprised it happened that early. It's been 2 months since I did this on my rear door, still no problem. Did this cleaning fix your problem?
