    A not to this thread. I sold this bike last June. The new owner called a week later saying that it has lost power an was smelling of gasoline.
    I took the bike back to my garage. Acted like a carburetor problem. After I pulled the bowls off all 4 carbs I discovered that on of the jets on one carb had unscrewed itself and I was able to pull it out with no effort. The only thing keeping it from falling out completely was the bottom of the bowl. I also noted that the velocity stacks had come loose. After fixing the carb and fastening down the velocity stacks I gave it back to the new owner. He said it was now running amazing and much better than when he first bought it. A couple months later he texted me from Yosemite Park with a photo and a message that he had put 3,000 mile on it and was still going strong.
    The lesson to be learned is that if it is not tight then the vibrations will certainly unfasten it over time. Torque the jets in and double check them.
    Just finished up a fuel injection retrofit of a 80s series Honda Magna. Lot of fun and a learning experience. Now starting on fuel injection project of a 1999 Kawasaki ZG1000. Check out some of my other videos. ruclips.net/video/3bbu6AfAPQ8/видео.html

      Hi Gerard,
      Do you have a guide on how to retrofit the fuel injection onto an 80s Magna? Will that method work for a late model 3rd gen Magna?

      @@johnpost3567 Actually I did do a 86 magna fuel injection but if I were to do it again i would do it differently. My project involved making a custom manifold with injectors and all. It was a real pain. I have since learned to do it differently. I converted my Kawasaki concours to fuel injection by placing the injectors in the airbox and using the carburetors as throttle-bodies. Here is the magna project. ruclips.net/video/QxJs2lrAYqg/видео.html

    Just want to say first:
    Do NOT pull off those funnel air intakes on the top of the carb! They are usually held in by small tabs that you or previous owner broke off. Very common mistake on these bikes.
    Now that I got that out of the way. Great video! Great video quality and good audio with good and detailed descriptions. I also love the home made ultrasonic tank!

      From what I've seen on other videos,,,, you remove the 4 screws around the bottom first,,,, then turn these funnel velocity stacks counterclockwise about a half an inch,,,, they have an ear inside that will line up with a slide and pull up. out,,. ???

      My bike had been worked on before. The stack were just pressed into place. Easy to remove them...Don't forget to put them back in. You will loose horse power without them.

    MY rubber boots are not new but they are not brittle by no means. Nothing wrong with the boots just the clamps fitting loose around the boots even though the screws are tightened all the way down. Figured the loose fit was causing my rough idle problem but apparently not. Your video encouraged me to take apart my Magna cabs. Cleaned them and synchronized them on my bench and I'm riding happy now. Apparently the loose clamps around the boots does not affect the performance. Thanks for the reply and your awesome videos.

      Every bike I had in Colorado required a carb cleaning every spring. The reason was the ethanol in the gas. I found a place where I could buy ethanol free gasoline and the solved it. But I went ahead and converted three old classics to EFI .

    Queston: is it normal for those four rubber boots at the bottom of the carbs to be slightly loose? Mine wiggle a little when I thought they should be tight. The screws appear to be bottomed out already but still have a little wiggle in them.

    my vf750c is hard to start when cold, after it works the 2 exhausts on the right side are cold for some time and the bike works failing, I have to accelerate at high rpm for the carburettors to unlock and then it works fine, but when it is cold it always happens the same. What could it be? thanks

    • @gerrypineau
      @gerrypineau  Год назад

      If the exhausts are cold then there is no fuel being burnt on those cylinders. Either the carbs are clogged or the plugs are not firing. get it started and check if there is any exhaust (combusted) coming from the pipes. I think you should pull all 4 carbs and do a thorough cleaning.
