The pas eh
❤❤❤ thanks.
"The fact that Johnny Cash knew who Neil Young was validated me. It didn't make me weird because I listened to them both." - Steve Earle
Johnny Cash's hair should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Lol
For me personally, Neil young will always stand in a class of his own. Few songwriters come close to matching him. Bob Dylan, John Prine, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen Sixto Rodriguez, Tom Waits, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson are all favorites but Neil does something extra for me.
Amen. Well said.
Absolutely. Nicely said.
If Bob Dylan can be awarded a Nobel prize for Literature, Neil should be next.

You are right, dude!
We stumbled up from Tootsie's, stood on each other's shoulders, slipped in a window and sat in the back. I was a fan, knew the songs, but still had no idea what was coming. With an acoustic guitar, a piano and a few simple chords, he moved the world. The Ryman was dead quiet until the last note.
Me too! I was there
Saw Neil at the Chicago Auditorium, solo tour, Jan 1971--he mentioned in that concert he was going to be appearing on the Johnny Cash show--we watched and waited and never saw him on it. So dissapointing how we must have missed it. What a show he did that night--was like playing Harvest album before it was released the following year. Closed it with a Dobro Guitar and a rousing version of "See the Girl Dance"...
Johnny Cash is unreal. Neil is as real as it gets.
Neil Young wrote the love script for us over a lifetime. Every message so truthful and meaningful for future generations. Gatekeeper of the spiritual garden of planet Earth.Thank you Uncle Neil for never selling out or abandoning the cause.Blessings, peace and love forever. Sirène
If Bob Dylan can be awarded a Nobel prize for Literature, Neil should be next.
Sheer brilliance and yet so young. Love his stories.
He is still here and doing fine. What are you saying?
50 years later and Mr. Neil is still rockin in the free world.
52 years later, Mr. Neil is no longer rockin in the free world :(
@@cbep9
yeah he is, he has more material to release than any other musicians from
50 years ago.
THE COST OF THE FREE WORLD IS MUCH TO HIGH!!! M O'B
Tragic how an incredibly talented artist became sucked into woke culture and thus lost complete credibility.
Hes so good its tearful.
What a great combo of songs, Neils mellow period, to think in 2 years he was doing the Tonights the Night tour, what a musical talent, Mr. Young.
No one writes songs like Young. 50 years later, who can claim to match his lyrical prowess other than Dylan?
Ray Davies
@@oakstgorillas I do love the Kinks. Saw them play a few years back, Ray and Mick Avory were the only original members. Was brilliant though
Jackson Browne - his first three albums were sublime.
Dylan has nothing on Neil.
John Prine
And I fell in love with his music forever❤️🎸☮️
Er hat mich mein ganzes Leben begleitet und mich dazu gebracht, das meine Finger bluteten als ich Gitarre spielen lernte. Er wird immer in mir sein...
This song sounds exceptionally great on the grand piano.Neil always will be a Renaissance man.
everything comes back to Neil
I was there and love being brought back in time by watching this - a great show.
The Man in Black giving lessons and tipping his generous hat to Uncle Neil is a feat for the ears and a real inspiration.
Neil's tribute to Danny Whitten. So morose because he felt a responsibility about Whitten's OD.
I Love Neil. Forever.
Wow... This is priceless!
masterpiece
Saw Neil solo at Berkeley C Theater, 1971 aloha
Neil Young the genius
What a heavy man and what a grounded man. Please don't take that as cliche, it's just true. In reference to johnny cash. Neil is awesome too.
People say Neil is Ugly To me he isn't!! I think he's good looking especially here and when he was younger there has always been something about him that's made him my #1 All time Musician Love Neil ALWAYS😊😍😘
He's no supermodel, but it doesn't need to be, because his music is good and true, and that is really all you need. I think his fashion sense is amazing, I love the way he dresses.
People who make judgements about physical appearance are stupid and shallow. I would like to see what they look like who say NY is ugly...
So what if he is. Talent trumps everything else
His personality is ugly
What does appearance have to do with music?
So good such deep meaning 😭
Neil young’s secret is that his sizable shadow is actually integrated with the rest of his soul.
The most distinguished voice ever.
I grew up in the late 60's early 70's listening to Neil brings me back there, what great a memorable music he has written. Thank you, Neil!
Thank you for your art, Johnny. I love you, friend.
NEIL for ever!
This was probably recorded either the same day or the day before Neil started recording Harvest at Quadraphonic in Nashville.
What is Truth comes to mind at the beginning of this video and Man in Black.
LOVE Neil!!!
The heat is on day to day my search your not knowing this determination she has tenaciously and keeps to the search...smiling all along
J'adore cette version
Et aussi Johnny Cash ....
Saw the movie Harvest Time tonight! 50 years after filming it’s out in select theatres now.
Classic Neil!
Neil is great. To listen to him you'd think all the problems of the world are from drugs. That's not how it is, buddy.
Cartels in Mexico hanging people from bridges, American cities racked by gang violence claiming tens of thousands of lives.
Gang shootouts in broad daylight on freeways and you say drugs aren't a problem?
@@oppothumbs1
Neil knows exactly how to sing his songs.
Sadly no, drugs are just a part of it. Greed and satanic corruption are right on top there.
One of the best videos ever posted on RUclips. Genius meets genius.
Whoever disliked thus needs their thumbs removed.
(Yeah, like Neil would want that.)
Ha
Like Dylan, his beautiful poetic stories make you take a deep breath and simply ....pause.
Loved the Johnny Cash segment…..telling it like it is !
I can relate.....
As Edward said below I would add Linda Ronstadt in all her resplendant beauty
Awesome
Brilliant! ♥♥♥
Awesome!!!
Gotta Love Both of these icons.
Damn!!!
I’m so glad that I grew up with a hippie mom and married a music man. lol
So in other words you're a looney leftist. Great...

Neil could do it all!
A man changes over the years. Don't be fooled this is a very capitalist man with a much younger wife. Owner of great wealth. Everyone continues to see him for the brilliant young man he was. Does he deserve his wealth, sure. He is an absolute treasure for what he has given us. Realize, he as all humans exposed to it, has been vastly changed by great wealth. That being said, his early years of music are just earth shattering wonderful! Is he out of touch now with what most people go through? Most likely. Oh well, so it goes.
Age does that to people, and I think the same thing about Bruce Springsteen - a guy who's busted his ass for all his wealth and seems to be embarrassed by all he has. As for Neil, NOTHING matches his acoustic live recordings from ~1970-1973. As he aged his voice changed (as does everyone's) I found him a little whiney.
the downfall of America glad you show it
The truest bankable rocker of the seventies (Greil Marcus).
No truer words have been spoken!!! He was absolutely right! It was definitely a rocker, under disguise here.
He tried to make himself un-bankable but he failed as he is loved more for going off the road into the ditch in the Seventies.
1971 this was almost the end of Johnny's run on TV?
Needle and Damage done would take on a deeper meaning when Pearl Jam sang it in tribute to Kurt Cobain after his suicide
