I usually don't like screaming or growling at all in metal (Death/black metal or metalcore etc, I couldn't get into almost any other bands from the melodeath style), however this band is one of the very few exceptions with its own unique melodic death metal style. Alexi's voice fits perfect! Probably the best melodic death metal band.
@Veronica Moody lol, that is not true. There is plenty of clean singing as well nowadays. I like Rotting Christ / Blood Stain Child as well for example, which are also not about clean singing mainly. It actually depends on the singer's voice, hate that high pitched voice or way too growls.
I seem to love the slower songs of COB, glad to have found this after not listening to metal as much the last few years. Rip Alexi you excellent human.
I have some of these lyrics tattooed on my rib cage, I've dealt with addiction but also relate it to my very unstable love life as it usually works in the same way as any addiction has. The things/ones I want close to me should be the ones I need far away from me but the things/ones I should have close to me I push far away from me💔
My initial thoughts were "this reminds me a bit of Apocalypse by Hypocrisy" but now you mention it I can hear a little PL in there. They' were always big Amorphis fans so I guess some doomier vibes crept in now and then

Alexi and bandmates are phenomenal talent on top of intelligent. Inspired heavily by Bach and Beethoven

Annoying how all their videos have comments disabled
I understand this song on a personal level. Addiction is hell 🙁

Paradise Lost meets COB
Sounds like Fall from Grace a little bit

MAN THIS IS THE BEST SONG OF COB
Ulas Altun it is fucking beautiful in a dark wag
I meant dark way, not wag
Леха ты в наших сердцах!
R.I.P TO ALEXI!! I LOVE YOU SOOO FUCKING MUCH!! YOUR THE WORLDS BEST!! ..\C.O.B/!! 4-EVER!!🤘🤘💪💪💪❤😈😈😈🧨🧨✨✨🎇🎇🎇
This song fucking kicks ass.
It's "We don\t believe your prayers", no "don't need".
0:21 to 0:42 is one of the sickest guitar/keyboard riffs I've ever heard. It ends like crap (0:42), but still... shocking!
i think the ending to the riff is really melodic, actually. gives me goosebumps
I think the ending is pretty amazing
Its and ending that COB use quite often compared to the bit prior. But its all great. Has anyone found another good song on this album?
