One of my favorite songs from the production in a better quality that I could find elsewhere on youtube.
Marius Pontmercy: Michael Ball
Eponine: Lea Salonga
Cosette: Judy Kuhn
Hope you enjoy! Видеоклипы
GUYS IT IS JASMINE, MULAN, AND POCAHONTAS (with an added Michael)
Michael Ball is, and likely always will be, the best Marius. The man is so open in his singing and his face is so full of joy and that you can understand his sudden love without him seeming really stupid. Also I just miss when Marius was a baritone role.
That’s just the fact. I’ve never liked Marius, but Michael Ball’s Marius is one of my favorite performances ever. He’s just so charismatic and portrays being in love so beautifully, plus he’s very animated, so it’s always a joy to watch his little acting choices. And, OF COURSE, an amazing voice!
Yes, I have seen several Mariuses, and Michael Ball wins hands down, in my opinion! Best voice, and with his happy, shy facial expressions, and body movements, you can really feel that he is falling or has fallen in love with Cosette. Not just acting, but he makes you feel like it is all true. True gentleman in thanking his friend Eponine, for bringing him and C. together. By expression, you can tell he has liked having Eponine as his friend. Also poor Eponine, many a fan favourite, has never gotten her wish, for Marius to be with her, until her last day.
Mulan/Jasmine and Pocahontas in a singing competition. Grand prize winner receives a Ball.
omg
omg
Michael's ball.
Get out

OMG Michael a Marius. No one gets anywhere near. Oh to be Eponine. Lea Salonga you lucky girl. Best Eponine also!
I think, among many elements, the best part of this performance is how their voices all blend perfectly together. You can make out each of their individual melody lines clearly, without losing the emotions.
This is the only version I want to listen to ever!!! I hate having to weed through the awful movie version to get to this! Best cast ever right here!
i agree
@Tom Sawyer ok, Eddie isn't the best singer, but he's an excellent actor, don't you think? He made the part of Empty Chairs at Empty Tables very emotional, even though he doesn't have the best voice for a musical
Any cast that includes Michael Ball ... I’m there.
@@AnotherJenn42 and me. He literally touches me. He's described as a man who makes girls from a cirten age weak at the knees. Well I'm 22 and melt like butter at the sight of him.
Hey! Leave my girl Sarah Barks out of this!
Leah Salonga more than holds her own here. Incredible.
Leah is amazing. Simply amazing.
*CRIES ABOUT EPONINE*
Defintivamente su historia es tragica.
25th anniversary's Cosette's voice was clear and beautiful, but I prefer this mature Cosette over the childish one
+yeeroy Cossette is a child... Maybe not a child, but she's not mature. Cossette is about... I don't know, seventeen? eighteen?
She's not mature, but I don't think 'childish' is a right word to call her. I think she's just very naive. :)
I love this Cosette. Far better than the movie and very different than the 25th anniversary one. But stellar vocal performance in a difficult role. 😍😍
Judy Kuhn has one of the best, most versatile voices in Broadway Theatre! She is amazing!
I love Judy but don’t bash Katie Hall please. We Cosette fans should lift each other as she’s still very underrated by the fandom. The musical deleted here solo song I Saw Him Once already
DUDE. I LOVE THIS. MICHAEL BALL IS SO.... UGH, HE'S SO AMAZING
Yes he is.
he wore a 3 long sleeves for the 10th anniversary under stage lights and had to wipe his sweat on lea’s hair. props to monsieur ball!
back when disney chose their stars wisely
Disney had nothing to do with casting this show 25 years ago. It was broadway directors and producers
@@mamabear1135 I think they meant that they chose their stars based on their abilities instead of popularity and star power and that this video was a proof of that.
@@mamabear1135 at those time, these were the disney princesses..
Yea. Today's Disney would never choose Lea. She's asian. Hence, she's white
@@kevlark3184 Haha true.
I love MB facial expressions and body language reflects the song, the mood. A true stage/theatre performer.
"My name is Marius Pontmercy" - His expression was so cute, like a real person in love!!!
Michael Ball the perfect Marius
Micheal and Lea's chemistry is something..they look so good together.
I have this disk and anyone who likes Les Mis or Michael Ball should get it. I have played it 100x and still play it at least 3 times a day. ❤❤😊
Is everyone forgetting that Lea was KIM in MISS SAIGON?!!! One of my fave theatre musicals! but ahhh, Pocahontas is my FAVE (movie) musical! This makes me sooo happy ❤
what a trio of really beautfull singers when michael smiles them dimps gets you every time
I'm so emotionally moved by Lea aka eponine 😭
I luv lea's last notes here
That was cosette.. not eponine/ lea
Lea Salonga's voice is so young
I hope Mr. Ball knows he is in the presence of royalty: three Disney princesses, that is!
Back when talent actually meant having it!
Yep. None of the pathetic instant fame of a generic tv talent show contestant you never hear of again.
Only Michael Ball, Colm Wilkinson, Philip Quast and Lea Salonga can do justice to this incomparable musical score. There are many great musical collaborations but only one Les Mis. It simply shames Phantom or any contemporary production. In particular Quast as Javert and Salonga as Eponine. In my opinion the two greatest theatrical singers of all time. So good as to be beyond the absurd. Two goats in one magnificent production.
100% agree!!
I think it's a bit restrictive to say that those four are the only ones who can do justice. There have been many excellent performers in les mis over the years, unless you've seen/heard all of them how can you say these are the only ones who do it justice
Don’t forget Alun Armstrong
Schmidt, please… Ridiculous comment. The original Broadway cast was superb.

French version:
Marius: In my life,
I have seen the model God took
When He made the angels above.
There she is, my princess in the garden
With the flower in her hand, it feels unreal!
Eponine, you are the fairy who brought us together,
And I pray, that happiness like mine comes into your life,
The good Lord is sometimes like a great magician!
Eponine: Every joy in his heart
Puts an arrow in mine.
In my life,
There is no one in the world but him,
If he asked, I would be his.
Both: In my life,
There is only one person who counts in my life.
Marius: There she is!
Eponine: There he is.
Marius: A heart full of joy,
A heart full of chimeras,
I do not wish to anger her,
O God! Forgive me,
I do not even know your name,
Dear mademoiselle,
I am crazy! But she is beautiful!
Cosette: A heart full of joy,
Tell me who you are.
Marius: My name is Marius Pontmercy
Cosette: And I'm Cosette
Marius: Cosette, I do not know what to say
Cosette: Say nothing now.
Marius: My heart trembles
Cosette: As does mine
Both: A heart full of love,
In the span of this night,
Marius: O flower in the garden of paradise,
Cosette! Cosette!
Cosette: Are you the prince I waited for?
Marius: Is this a dream?
Cosette: No, I am real
Both: A heart full of love,
Eponine: No these words are not for me,
Marius & Cosette: A heart full of you.
Eponine: I do not regret what cannot be,
Marius: I waited for you,
Eponine: He would never say these words
Not to me.
Cosette: As did I
Eponine: Not to me,
Not for me
Marius & Cosette: This is a sweet dream,
More than a dream,
You and I.
Eponine: His heart full of joy
Would never beat
Not for me.
Thank you! The French version is much more beautiful and detailed.
MB is perfect! The perfect Marius. Everyone else just sound wanting..
In my life
She has burst like the music of angels
The light of the sun
And my life seems to stop
As if something is over
And something has scarcely begun.
Eponine
You're the friend who has brought me here
Thanks to you I am at one with the Gods
And Heaven is near!
And I soar through a world that is new that is free
Every word that he says is a dagger in me!
In my life
There's been no one like him anywhere
Anywhere, where he is
If he asked
I'd be his
In my life
There is someone who touches my life
Waiting near
Waiting here
A heart full of love
A heart full of song
I'm doing everything all wrong
Oh God, for shame
I do not even know your name
Dear Mademoiselle
Won't you say?
Will you tell?
A heart full of love
No fear, no regret
My name is Marius Pontmercy
And mine's Cosette
Cosette, I don't know what to say
Then make no sound
I am lost
I am found!
A heart full of love
(He was never mine to lose)
A heart full of you
(Why regret what cannot be?)
A single look and then I knew
I knew it too
(These are words he'll never say, not to me)
From today
(Not to me, no)
Every day
(His heart full of love)
For it isn't a dream
Not a dream after all
(He will never feel this way)
That's terrific.THE BEST!
Beautiful, thank you for the video.
I seriously got chills
Michael is the best Marius ever !!
I honestly love the cross overs of the Les Mis productions here, or the Boulbil/Schonberg really. Michael Ball originated Marius in the West End production, Judy Kuhn originated Cosette in the Broadway production, while Lea played Eponine on the West End but originated Kim in "Miss Saigon" by the same production company.
I loved Lea in Return of the Jedi.
😂
This is one of the songs I was asked to do for callbacks for my musical, and this is definitely the version I'll be practicing with! Marius does such a fantastic job!
I needed another dose of Michael!. Thank you!
Just found this. So beautiful
I think this is a beautiful song sung with real emotion.
I personally prefer Michael Ball's performance on the Complete Symphonic Recording, but here he's surrounded by better actors, so it evens out.
I super love the last line..
My favorite version of all time.
Michael ball will always be Marius I’ll die on the hill
I'm only watching because of Lea! :D
Difference in singing a song and a true soul singing from the pain of their heart. Once the become their character their song is just a song.
LEA ROCKS!!!!
W O W ! ! !
Wow!!!
You can see Michael Ball's influence on Rob Houchen who took his role in "the staged concert." Rob comes close to it. Michael Ball and Alfie Boe hit it off great as Javert and Valjean. Lea Salonga always has and always will be my favorite Eponine. This was the role the led her to be cast as Kim in Miss Saigon.
Nope, she was cast for this because of Miss Saigon. She did miss Saigon 4 years before she first played Eponine
Dear Michael. You are the very BEST!!!!! Love you to bits!!!!
Do anyone of you realise at 2:07, Eponine (or Lea) wipes her tears !!
Michael Ball is LIFE but it legit drives me nuts when he rushes.
Dear Michael!!!!
❤️❤️❤️
hmmmmm...I dont think its annoying ... How can u be annoyed. Lea's words are clearer than Brits or real Americans...She was brought up well...I mean with her language skills..
The theatrical version always has the best quality but the fims choose their cast for mass appeal
cosettes notes for this song are amazing because she is phocohantas because the phocohantas notes are low
Lea Salonga is the best
DEar Michael: You sing beautifully!
Goooood that list chord
I'm a person who can relate to Marius. I friendzoned my best friend girl even though she had confessed her feelings to me. I'm sorry I gave my heart to someone else...
Same😂
Stop 🧢🧢🧢’in
Love Michael ball.
Dear Michael.......
Dear Michael
Two girls one ball
I love the 10th anniversary version! Lea is lovely ("dagger"=so good) but does anyone know why Frances Ruffelle didn't reprise?
Always a Eponine, never a Cosette :/
Ball. Leah.
I like how they cut out Cosette’s part of ‘in my life’
Jk Cosette is my gurl
레아 영원하라!!!
Marion
@3:08
does none else think that the last note Cossette sings is really flat?
other than that I love this version, much better than the 2012 film tbh film❤❤
No; it's a B flat, the correct note for the key and the song.
I thought it was a C6 but I agree that it is the right note
Judy Kuhn makes zero mistakes.
Leah a famous
I feel bad for Eponine
This video really cuts Cosette’s solo parts in In My Life. She’s already very underrated in Les Mis fandom and her parts still gets cut 😡
Yes, girls can be friendzoned too.
Personally, I love the version with Rosalind James, Gareth Gates and Katie Hall when it comes to this song but damn, this is good too!
Katie Hall ist best Cosette and Fantine!! !!!
Oh dear Lea! Lea's voice here is more than the Cossette here! Lea's version Eponine is the BEST SINGER IN THE WHOLE SHOW and she's more pretty than this Cossette!😁 Her voice is more than Cossete's!
I love Lea, but the way she over-accents her consanents are very annoying and makes her sound like a high schooler instead of a professional
joel manrique you need to chill out dude. The way lea sings gets on my nerves as well, it's not just them. Her accents really don't fit Eponine, she's supposed to have this rough and shrill voice and Lea just doesn't fit it. Her voice is almost too perfect for this role in a way. She suits Fantine better. Also you spelled 'spelled' wrong, so you have no room to correct others.
Sorry, but Lea is the epitome of perfection for many of us. We have better discernment of who's excellent, you don't!
"If Team America faced Michael ball in North Korea that day, I would be the one singing empty chairs and empty tables."
