This little ruclips.net/user/postUgkxVoi3B4CB6Oygq1-vo4OTL1M_M5JkrXif tub works perfect in our 6 x 6 shower and is easy to get in and out. Also easy to drain.
There's all kinds of plans, we had Bath Fitters over yesterday and they plan on fixing the floor and walls, replacing the tub with a new one of course and new faucets, all Moen.
Do I need to replace the walls and ceiling around the tub. I like my ceramic tile - but the tub is old and I would like to replace it with either white or off white tub.
Ive been a handyman or 25 years and this drives me nuts. Im the guy the homeowner calls to problem solve a year or two AFTER one of these installs or a re-glaze fails to figure out the mess. Ive personally seen Bathfitters fail 100% of the time at a condo conversion project (32 condos) I don't think the developer cared at all as it was just a matter of looking good to make the sale. The only thing dumber than a drop in bathfitter is re-glazing the tub. That's glorified spray painting which Ive also witnessed failing within two years. Think about it Folks, it doesn't matter how pretty the updated install looks, the drywall/tile/grout/caulking in behind is still moldy and falling apart, and you still have a 50yr old faucet. Finally, I dont know where these prices come from? A brand new Amercian Standard tub is only $150.00. I regularly do complete tub/faucet/drywall/tile jobs for under 4k and done in two days. Of course, that price could be alot higher if you choose a fancy faucet and custom tile etc.
Yeah Purdy till it fails and you end up with a nice water bed feeling liner, and you have to figure out how to fix the POS, without getting sick from black mold.
5 years after installation I can feel water between the tub and the liner. Upon closer inspection I noticed a significant gap between the tub liner and the new wall cover that was hidden with a thick caulking bead. Shabby workmanship by my bathfitter contractor, basically a waste of $6000
I have 3 wall liners I ordered from California already installed in my bathroom. Those walls are over the lip of a tub that was resurfaced about 7 years ago. I wonder if they can somehow do the tub only and keep my existing wall surround which happens to be in very good shape?
Oh goodness the owner of the house I stay in just put one of these and I hate it ! U can feel a gap. And first thing that popped in my head was .. but what about the mold that's gonna grow under all that moisture cuz I regularly had to bleach that shit... I hate it 😵 ..... Btw he did a crappy work. But I am moving out soon
It depends on the size of your jetted tub. If it is an irregular shape, you may have troubles. But you can contact your local Bathfitter dealer to have a consultant give you more information.
Hey! I'm a sales rep for bath fitter, the #1 thing we like to remind our customers of is that our material is a breeze to clean! All that's recommended is a wash cloth and windex to wipe it all down! Our acrylic material, unlike many other materials, doesn't have pores so it can't absorb anything, which means NO STAINS! 😄 if you would like to sing up for one of our representatives to give you a call, let me know and I will fill out a card for you! Filling out a card means they will call and contact you and then if you would like to, you can set up an appointment for a FREE NO OBLIGATION DEMO to receive a set price for what you would like to have!! 😄
Why do they put the walls on first. The liner should have a lip, and go on first. The walls should go over the lip. So, if the caulking along the tub breaks down water will get between the liner and the old underlying tub. Stupid design. $4000 + cost for that. Stupid.
you are 100% right. I let them do it in my bathroom not knowing there would be no overlap between the walls and the liner and just like you said, the caulking started peeling off and water got between the liner and the old bathtub. And of course, the company is out of business and I got stuck with this. It just makes me angry when I see bath fitter junk mail still coming to my mail box. You are the only logical thinking guy here. If you don't mind I'm going to copy your comment and paste it on every freaking bath fitter video to warn others.
I'm thinking this is a doable do it ur self project ...with the labor saving a guy could pay a handy man for a little help still be thousands in the pocket
It will depend on the size of the tub in your RV. Bathfitter may be able to customize a unit. You will have to contact your local bathfitter dealer to find out if it is possible. www.bathfitter.com/
Why can't bath fitter just take out the old bathtub? It's illogical to leave behind the old materials that could end up rotting. Maybe I'm ignorant about what materials tubs are made out of, but putting the new over the old and leaving the old underneath seems disasterous in the long run. It sounds like laziness.
Linkolnverse it's actually really smart and cost saving. In NYC a lot of old buildings had a facelift years ago to look modern. The structures themselves are over the 80 years old but with new windows and metallic trim they look brand new.
It needs a foundation. The liner is hallow and made out of acrylic. Its a LINER not a bathtub. Its made as a cheap makeover over hiring a renovation company to retile your bathtub and buy a expensive bathtub.
Jeffrey Bravo. it's actually really dumb. I wish I was aware of that before I let them ruin my bathroom. Just think about it: Why do they put the walls on first. The liner should have a lip, and go on first. The walls should go over the lip. So, if the caulking along the tub breaks down water will get between the liner and the old underlying tub. Stupid design
For 5k ...I'm just a dumb union labor guy . But 5k vs do it yourself would allow for alot of install difficulty ..lots and lots of difficulty and redoing and even cussing..a guy and a how to RUclips video and 0 to min labor cost would be better alternative even if you had to pay some for advise or even help a little..thousands in the bank
The tub beneath is sealed, you are wrong, and it is impossible such could occur. This is acting for information purposes, apparently, and showing typical. They display costs range from $2,000 and up and they finance. This bashing you do is unnecessary. You are apparently a competitor. They have done 5 units for me, they hold accounts worldwide with DOD and many major 5 diamond hotels, and it is apparent they know hat they are doing. All responses from you are basically slander.
for the life of me - I can't figure out why anyone would want to put this shitty plastic cover over existing bathroom. I watch the commercial on TV and it looks so damn cheap and tacky. You clearly watch the dude press one wall up and then another . . and . . then they have the nerve to say . . . . "seamless walls" somebody explain to me how you put two separate walls up and then claim they are seamless. For god sakes people. Spend a little money to have a real bathroom. the kitchen and the bathrooms are the most important rooms in the house for value purposes. No home buyer want's a plastic covered bathroom.
I hate these things. Ours failed and now we have water I side. I need to rip the stupid bath fitter up and will just refinish the original 1970s tub. These things always fail and if you don't catch it in time you'll have mold and destroyed walls on your hand.
Cover up your shit tub when it's time to sell. Then it's the next twats problem. Probably reno it anyway after they move in. Why drop $5000+ on a new tub? New owners probably won't like your design anyway and will also have whittled down your asking price.

I just need a Bath tub liner, How much just for the bathtub liner?
There's all kinds of plans, we had Bath Fitters over yesterday and they plan on fixing the floor and walls, replacing the tub with a new one of course and new faucets,

I hate when I'm trying to work and some one is trying to talk to me
Texas plumber same here that was pissing me off, let the man work and ask questions when he's done. Worse than a women in a hardware store
that bugged me too worse than a man in a hardware store.

What's the average cost for the bath rub setup?
What about without any accessories?
Guerro about 5 k.

“ gobeldy gok”..yeah, I trust that guy.
Why would you put a plastic shell over an old tub.
5 years after installation I can feel water between the tub and the liner. Upon closer inspection I noticed a significant gap between the tub liner and the new wall cover that was hidden with a thick caulking bead. Shabby workmanship by my bathfitter contractor, basically a waste of $6000
OH boy I had no idea. I am just researching and thanks for your input. Now I know what to look for...
They all do that. It’s called a floater. Mold and other gross stuff gets in there.
This is why I’m having them rip my existing tub out. I don’t want a liner I want a whole new actual tub. I was surprised it wasn’t that much extra.
How this your job workout? I could use a liner for my tub.
what if one has a window in the bathtub area and one wants to keep the window do you just cut a window hole in the panel?
I have 3 wall liners I ordered from California already installed in my bathroom. Those walls are over the lip of a tub that was resurfaced about 7 years ago. I wonder if they can somehow do the tub only and keep my existing wall surround which happens to be in very good shape?
The best way to find out is to ask the dealer in your area if they offer that service. www.bathfitter.com/

I would love to have that in my bathroom in brown ..but how much is it
+kaia nicholson You can find more info here... www.bathfitter.com/
Can water get under liner?
Yes it can if not done right
Gluing a plastic-liner over the old tub.
I've removed failed applications that had water trapped under the tub liner, mold and putrid odor was emitted. Yuck. Run away.
Are you guys still in business
We have a jetted tub and cannot find a replacement the same size ca this work for it?
It depends on the size of your jetted tub. If it is an irregular shape, you may have troubles. But you can contact your local Bathfitter dealer to have a consultant give you more information.
How hard is it to keep clean?
Does it stain?

Okay, but you didn't answer my question about the previous materials being old and potentially rotting and causing problems.
It needs a foundation. The liner is hallow and made out of acrylic. Its a LINER not a bathtub. Its made as a cheap makeover over hiring a renovation company to retile your bathtub and buy a expensive bathtub.

When the liner is installed the toxic mold develops between the bathtub and the $5.000 plastic liner. Buyer beware.
mary lander yep. I used to work for Bath Fitters. They do that all the time.
Why is this in my reccomended
$4000 for plastic
