This has to be one of the coolest builds to make something more efficient than it was originally intended to be. I know a few people are going to say one could buy it for less than you spent, but I would bet my last dollar you daughter's eyes were bigger than her goggles when you presented her with what can only be considered a work of art. wow tioga tires!!! during the 90's I have tioga tires by John Tomac edition on my mtb they were grippy but easily wear off, wish they still make those tires.
wish I could do that on my XC bike shorten the chain stay, I find it so hard to wheelie and jumps, my bike is a 27.5 but I put a 26 wheels, even though the bike is quick but hard to raise the front. Job well done on the bike sir.
I mean its a xc bike it doesn't meant for jumping or doing manuals and for wheelies its hard because your body weight is going to the front of the bike
Put a 24" wheel on the back and keep the front as 26". My 2004 bighit has that setup and used same setup on hardtail jump bikes and triple clamp forks to get the front high (",)
Congratulations on your work, the problem that an aluminum frame loses strength after it has been soldered,Because it is a girl being lightweight do not risk breaking the easy alloy frame
He tig welded to fresh metal and laid down a big bead. Plenty strong for a small child. Child will out grow it before she is heavy enough to break the welds. Very cool build 😎.
