I'm a old man now who can barely see and have alot of wood working tools but not the physical body anymore to make them. So if you are a young person and thinking about making slingshots, don't wait, start today even if you only have a few hand tools. Collect them and learn how to resharpen dull tools. A paduak slingshot/crossbow hybrid. Form and function. Very nice work. Will say you're a brave man freehanding pilot holes with a cordless drill - very hard to get any precision.
A slingshot will never be a good self defense weapon, lol, "draw, aim and fire" doesn`t work in self defense situations, and unless you get a headshot, it`s not going to do much even if you manage to hit with your ONE projectile. I feel like calling it "self defense" is just a loophole to show how to make a weapon that can pretty much only be used on unsuspecting targets..
And in case it`s not clear, all you have to do is slightly increase some of the measurements and used stronger/more bands and use another material for the trigger.
