I first heard this 'ditty' on Relics, got from my cousins....I was 10yo...Been entranced by this song ever since....Thanks to the net we can hear so many different versions of 'Careful..', each one unique and a masterpiece. There is no 'best version'.
The first time I ever heard Pink Floyd was whilst watching the "Zabriskie Point" movie. When this started playing it grabbed my attention and now, as a life long fan, it has remained my favourite track. I never tire of the early sounds of this band and it's nice to find another great and longer!, version of this masterpiece! Loved it. Thankyou for sharing. Peace.
@@eugenegd2112 lol, I’ve been busy moving and retiring, but you will mostly find me on James PF bootlegs or ThinkFloyd61 channels.Just recently found this little store that bought some old used Nintendo games from me for a grand and scooped an early zeppelin boot,a rush boot, live division bell and a double vinyl Floyd BBC recording and still walked out with cash…..score!!!!
Saw them play this live at Farnborough Tech College in Feb 1971 during college rag week Valentines day gig. I was doing an HND course. Met the guys in the college refectory . Had no idea back then what they were about to become
Pink Floyd is a constant reminder that one may approach the gateway of madness and even peer into it, but don't ever enter without a Poltergeist rope around you.
I have the original mono vinyl of relics, with the non-shiney Back and white cover, which I played so much as a kid it is now burnt into my brain. when they re-released it with some strange heavy handed stereofication it made this track and especially the end of interstellar overdrive peculiar
I like the early Floyd. As a matter of fact, there was a nice melodic JAM from the COMMITTEE LP,right after the CHIRPING BIRDS, that reminded me of a long lost Floyd song I heard on the radio about 31 years ago. It was about 5 minutes long and had a baroque-like keyboard melody and a trippy guitar solo with few lyrics and came out in '68 -'69. Does anyone know what this song's title might be?
This whole piece always has one stagnant bass root throughout, so it takes a lot to keep it interesting. PF makes clever use of the dynamics and shifting chords on top.
great version wish the french version was back uploaded the one where masons kit fires flames up in the air when the scream comes in ...it was done on a moog instead of the Hammond and the vocals and guitar are way out there more prominent. .hope it turns up .peace
I've tried to upload some other versions, isolated parts of the live in pompeii, bbc and kqed recordings, Gilmour's RTL live videos (recorded by me) but everything is removed minutes after the upload due to copyrights. Soon I'll try to post more... Thanks.
I love hearing the crowd during The Scream - on lots of b**tlegs you can hear people laughing at the weirdness of the moment and wondering WTF is going on...Roger was always a nutter.

I can't handle the original Saucerful lp, but give me the live versions ANY DAY. Especially how they played them in1973... don't ask me why. They are a lot fuller and with more nuances than the studio versions.
When I first play Saucer Full of Secrets I was absolutely blown away. I was 11 years old when it was released. My favorite band ever. This is coming from a 63 year old metalhead.
there are ways to hide things online, but make them still public for starters don't put these 2 words together p.... f.... I think one should be able to hear basic/ low quality versions of music, if not purely for educational purposes, and broadening the mind... and then Buy the high quality versions that you would like to experience further .
Would you mind to elaborate on how Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin were similar? Zeppelin were not even close to the diversity and uniqueness of the Floyd, they just had their own sound. Don't confuse apples with oranges. (John Paul Jones is a master musician)
