That was basically a perfect playthrough of that initial Connor scene. I don't think I've seen anyone do it as well as that. I especially appreciate you saving that dying cop, almost no one ever does that.
Dude this girl is freaking smart and pays the right amount of attention to what's on the screen. She doesn't get lost in distractions or speculation like a lot of the streamers I've seen.
Not much of an achievement as it's not a blind playthrough. It gets predictable once you realize she follows the "best" action for every choice that affects lives in the whole game. Some choices are not logical or consistent, so it's like getting 100% on a test you were not supposed to know the answers for. I'm not calling this cheating, as she didn't really promise a blind playthrough - even if trying to create that impression.
I think you’re such a genuine streamer I can see you being so popular in the future, because not only do you connect to your own personal life, you also take your time analyzing so much and taking in every feature of the game. Many streamers just walk straight to their goal, missing the actual LIFE a game holds. You’re the first streamer I’ve seen that looked at almost every feature in the game, especially the delivery truck scene. Because I have watched around a hundred gameplays and nobody has seen the truck scene in full. Applause to you, cheers
Fun fact: Kara, who is played by Valorie Curry, was initially introduced by Quantic Dream in a tech demo all the way back in 2013, when they were showing off their new PS3 engine. Tech aspect aside, lots of people were incredibly moved by the character and showed interest in the continuation of her story. That's what got the ball rolling. 5 years of development later, we got Detroit: Become Human. So the entire game kinda owes its existence to Valorie Curry and her amazing performance as Kara.
True, you could see Kara's tech demo in the previous Quantic Dream game called Beyond Two Souls, it appeared as an extra, I would like Kali to play that game one day
@@kaliwali This is the video I found after I played the first Kara scene (and yours went WAAAAAAY better than when I played through it). I should pick this game back up. I kept losing interest when I was playing as other androids. ruclips.net/video/TDxOUD7AgJk/видео.html
Good grief, Kali.. you’re one hell of a gamer. I’ve never seen anyone get 100% with that opening mission. Impressive stuff! Looking forward to this play through.
Same. I didn't even know it was possible to get 100%. My guess was it was impossible so you could play it a different way on repeat playthroughs. And her Kara mission went WAAAAAAAAAY better than mine.
I can't pretend to relate to what you've experienced, but from the first interactions with Alice and how timid she was, the game became Alice over everything to me too. Also, NEVER mute Chloe (the main menu AI), jk lol, but she's a really cool touch to this game. All your playthroughs and the ones you have planned in the near future are bangers, keep 'em coming!
You going to want to keep the tissues nearby. This game is crazy with the questions it asks, the very real situations it presents. It's a hell of a story. Your going to love it and the journey can't be topped by any other game.
The fact the kara situation makes you remember potentially hurtful memories, your expressions and micro expressions during that, i felt bad for you having to maybe relive some bad memories, sorry you went through something like this, happy that your at least in a good environment now! Cats are awesome therapeutic animals btw, i have 2 lol. That boop in the begining had me laugh out loud 😂
To achieved 100% probability of success in your 1st ever mission in the MOST stressful situation AND in your 1st ever playthrough, i can reassure you that you'll do just fine, Ma'am. WELL DONE! Just like how satisfied i am with the thoroughness in your GoW playthrough, i will feel the same too in this series. Never be afraid to inspect the whole area or situation because that's how you'll effectively gather all the missing pieces/informations in order to solve every cases. Perfect start to a series! Also, stay strong for this playthrough n throughout the whole series💪🏽 Once again, GREAT work Ma'am!
7:53 I actually really enjoyed your leaving in the download screen and talking about the different versions of AI in the game. It really is something to think about that could happen in our future!
i really feel you on the alice situation and how hard it can affect people even years after the things that have transpired. karas storyline specifically really touched me and made me invested in the game, because kara represented all the things id have wanted MY mother to do and tell me when i was going through similar things. kara is so gentle towards alice and it really gets to me how far she is willing to go to protect her and keep her safe. i love those two dearly :'))
I love how this game asks the question “how much convenience is too much convenience?” Every aspect of human life and the human experience has been supplemented and even in some instances replaced by Androids. They staff shops, cook in restaurants, provide near perfect security services, act as friends to your children and companions-platonic or otherwise-to adults. It’s like the humans from Wall-E, except with less rampant gluttony. So really. How much convenience is too much convenience? When does it stop being convenient and start being a tragedy waiting to happen. Daniel, the Android from the prologue, felt like he was part of the family, and then realized he was going to be tossed aside like a used rag. So he reacted violently and lashed out. The convenience of a newer, more advanced android model lured the family in. How much convenience is too much convenience? Thank you very much for coming to my TED talk.
one of the most satisfying moments of your gameplay in this video is you saved the bleeding police on the rooftop. you did the right thing. you're a very rare player in youtube who did that.
This doesn't happen often, but 1 minute in, you haven't even started the game yet and you've completely captivated me with how beautifully and thoughtfully you speak. Instantly subscribed and hoping you've played other games that I know so that I can binge them all!
I just got recommended your channel. I totally get your connection to Kara and Alice's story. I also grew up on eggshells afraid to speak, or... Idk live. But I appreciate your realness. I'm excited to see you go through this journey. I hope you'll love it. Thanks for sharing ❤
I just jumped in, saw the thumb and thought: "hey, why not right?" I'm very picky about what to watch lately, and it captivated me from the first few seconds. Commentary, logical, well spoken. I was blown away by your thought process when helping the officer, it was so tense it never occurred to me. And into Kara's storyline, I pictured what reaction you would get, at the same time at the back of my head I was like "maybe not..." and when that moment came... it hit me too and I got teary... I kept thinking how brave you were to keep going, so yeah, there is no way I cannot sub.
Wow, I think you are such an incredible person for opening up about your childhood and also having the immense strength to condemn Todd's actions after having experienced similar things yourself. So many people grow up with abusive parents and then end up doing the same to their kids. You are clearly a very emotionally intelligent person and posses a great amount of empathy, which the most admirable trait a human being can have in my opinion. Thank you for being so great, Kali!
I'm not usually into watching playthroughs of the games I haven't played, but decided to give this one a chance. Definitely wasn't disappointed. Really felt like giving you a hug at the end there. Gonna get a bit personal here, but when I was a kid, my mom saved me from a childhood just like that by making a really hard decision to divorce my father who was not too different from Todd in terms of his overall state. So I can't be impartial engaging with stories like this one knowing it could've as well been my story, too. Thank you for not being afraid to show your emotions. And thank you for letting us know that scars can heal over time, even if they leave their mark forever. P. S. Oh Pixie, ever the little rascal lol
As someone who has seen a lot of different playthroughs of this game. You'd be amazed by knowing how much people get distracted so easily or just don't focus on the game at all
30:36 You probably already noticed this, but pay attention the music during tense situations. Depending on your choices, it varies. It gets faster, more intense, or calmer, less intense. Absolutely brilliant audio and stylistic design. It's also so immersive and cinematic that it was only on my second playthrough (where I intentionally was as lifeless and android-y as possible to see the "bad" ending) that I actually noticed the music getting "worse" when I made evil or dispassionate responses.
oh boy kali, if you were having a hard time with mass effect choices this games going to put you through the ringer. I don't think the game is going to be as life changing as mass effect because its no where near as long but you're gonna have some new perspectives at the end. Glad you were able to play this.
What A Gameplay....And When You Were Crying I Was Like Someone Stop Her Please..... Because I Don't Know How To Cry In the first place....you can say i am humanoid And I Don't Know How To Console Someone Either....I Would Rather Walk Away Because I Know It Will Go Bad If I Enter The Situation.....Well I Didn't Had Any Abusive Childhood Or Anything But I Had Gone Through A Lot.....So I Can Feel You At The Emotional Level Without Emotions.....But Keep It Up.🖤
Hey, I’m sorry to hear you went through some type of abuse when you were younger. & that some games bring up bad those bad memories. Thanks for speaking out about it though. I think it does help others. Glad to hear you’re in a better place now and that there is hope for those who sadly might be dealing with a similar situation.
i love that you try to explore everything, most people i watched playing detroit just jumped right into it and missed half the possible achievements and cutscenes
I remember a few times during your ME play throughs you’ve mentioned you’ve lived through Alice’s situation and in my life I’ve dealt with them as well so it does pull some heartstrings. But we’re stronger because of it so it’s going to be a journey watching your story cause I know what happens 🤗🖤
one of the best games ever IMO, and def one of my favorite to watch playthroughs of, currently watching Jettro play and came across your channel, you KILLED it during the first Conner interaction, cant wait to watch your journey!
I saw some of Your Rdr2 playthroughs, I subscribed because You play with soul, take your time and appreciate the game and every thing that went into that game. Plus You are a joy to watch. Then I saw this Detroit, I insta knew that You WILL get it right and is a game for You. Sadly I don't have the patience to play these games, but I do like them a lot and I appreciate someone that takes their time and explore these . Thank You.
Does this unit have a soul - The game Was very much looking forward to playing this, as I think it's really a perfect fit for what you like in a game and how immersed you get while playing. At the same time, I kinda dreaded the Kara chapter, since you've talked about your past. It's so good to hear though that you took agency over your past and how it made you stronger and turned you into the wonderful human you are today. Much love!
It's always hard when games touch on this subject just because it hits close to home for me! But I always try to look at it as a silver lining to where I am now in life 💚 So far the game is amazing though. I can't wait to see where it goes because there are soooooo many open topics that are already tossing around in my brain
50:14 You might even say.. they're becoming human. Really looking forward to this playthrough, Kali! Even though I am 7 months late. Glad I found your channel!
Finally got a chance to watch this episode, glad you're getting a chance to check this game out. A lot of parallels with human history. Also as you kept stating the game is gorgeous and the number of possible outcomes in each chapter have easily put this game in my top 5. I actually am looking to play through it again soon! Looking forward to the next one!
As someone who suffered from emotional abuse from a parent as a child, I know exactly how you feel. You went through so much pain; you learned to become hypersensitive to the nuances of other people's behaviour, in case they were going to hurt you; and, in the end, that taught you a kind of empathy and kindness that most people don't possess - and the world would be a much better place if more people _did_. I'm glad you've been able to move on from your childhood experiences while still maintaining a positive outlook on life, with the support of your friends and loved ones. Also, I agree with the other commenters - it's great to see someone being so thorough, and investigating _everything_ the game has to offer. It's extremely rewarding watching your reactions to the game.
This is my first exposure to your channel, and I'm so glad I came. Thank you for your thorough and meticulous gameplay, it really allows us to experience everything with you. But most of all thank you for your vulnerability. You're a gift to those who may be going through the same things, and that's invaluable. Lovely content, and you're a lovely human. Looking forward to watching everything else you do :)
I've loved to rewatch gameplay of D:BH every year or so, just because of how much of an impact its left on me. From music, story, characters, emotions, themes, and overall beauty. I cannot wait to rewatch the game through your play. And, this is the first time I've seen gameplay for the game on the PC! Thanks for playing this game and based on the comments, you seem like you'll do the gameplay lots of justice compared to other playthroughs I've seen! Edit: Very much agree with everything you said in the beginning
thank you for watching my playthrough! I definitely understand revisiting this game once a year for the music, feels, story and overall message 💚 it's such an impactful and amazing game!
Wow! I didn't expect the emotional journey, but i'm really glad you went there, because i'm sure it hit a lot of people that dealt with similar issues. Thank you, and respect.
Bless you for opening up there at the end. I also cried when I first played the game over the exact same scene. Rough times, but hey, even if it takes a while, hopefully we'll all heal correctly :D! Also i'm so sure that ai is gonna take over those jobs for sure. Scary to think how much money you could spend on a degree to get a job, but then getting replaced.
EXCELLENT job with your first mission. Beautiful job! And yes, EVERY, SINGLE, STREAMER I've seen play this game has missed the wounded officer in the first mission. Great awareness.
Cat bonk was approval you picked another perfect game! :) Was worry I will lose interest in this channel after ME, but you got me again! PS: Just watched ending of episode. Really admire your courage and openness. These games are very emotional and its very fine if you are open to it.
this is my introduction to ur channel and got me subscribed even at the intro, just the way how u talked abt ur thoughts (since i'm a broke artist myself lol), I just know i'll luv ur gameplay, especially the last gameplay of DBH i've watched managed to get all the characters get killed in casual mode 💀 so this is so much better already. it's evident in ur connor mission gameplay with 2-3 times stabalized in 99% since the game gives chances to achieve 100%. just one tip tho: reading all the pages in magazines are completely fine at first parts of this game, but there'll be times were the time u consume reading is included in ur time exploring and u'll miss alot, so just look out for those or skimming the mag is more advisable
I know I'm a little late, but this was so such a good first episode! This is my first video of yours, and you're such a nice and calm person to watch. I immediately knew you were abused as soon as I saw your initial reaction to Todd and Alice. Takes one to know one. I'm not sure what kinds of abuse you endured, but I am so so sorry. I'm personally a victim of emotional abuse from my dad, and my mom is a victim of emotional and physical abuse from many people in our family, so the signs just show up to me instantaneously. When you started crying, I started crying too. I've watched this game dozens of times, so much so that I sometimes forget to cry in these really emotional parts, but now that I'm watching your series, my brain is like, "I need to cry with her!" haha. I'm very proud of you for overcoming these feelings and being brave. Definitely subscribing! Keep up the great work! :)
thank you for the amazing comment! I'm glad you've been enjoying my journey in this game so far. It definitely takes one to know one and I agree that you can just tell.. we aren't alone and I'm so sorry you had to go through pain in the past, too. we will always be filled with a part of shadow and a part of light 🤍
First of all, Kali, how could you! You made me cry with that beautiful music at the beginning alone. Secondly, to say this game is perfect or a masterpiece would be the understatement of the century, I've never had the chance to play it but I've watched countless videos and each one was as different as it was awesome.
@@kaliwali ME made me think so much that's it's partially part of my life now, I basically grew up with it. I would feel bad if I was ever to forget it so yeah it will forever be in our minds. Anyway, big words for a simple idea, enjoy DBH, I for sure enjoyed it several times.
1:23:40 i love the fact that Kara forced herself to forget this, becouse i also completly forgot it happend to the point that when the reveal happened on Jericho i thought it was made but it did actuall, happen
Love that you’re getting into this after finishing ME and playing on experienced as well. GLHF excited to see how you react to this after your decisions with the Geth and Reapers
i am so, so glad i found someone so genuine. i wanted to remember the story of this game, but i wanted a different perspective, i clicked on a few before yours, and within maybe 30 seconds i knew you would take this seriously, and have interesting, meaningful things to say. Jacksepticeye is the only other series of this game i could care enough to watch. thankyou for sharing your perspective, vulnerability, and curiousity♥
Ur amazing. U did amazing. The only other playthrough I've watched that started out this amazingly was a playthrough I watched yesterday n finished earlier today. U not only have started this out as close to perfect as a first-time player could probably possibly start, but u also have a strong connection with the Kara storyline. To my recollection, I haven't seen anyone legitimately start to cry during that scene at Todd's. Typically, they yell n wish they had the gun or wanna take the girl n run. I like watching different perspectives on things n ur's is the first with this perspective that I have found that plays the game in a way that kept me watching long enough to see. (Edit: I checked ur channel page n saw that u may not have finished the game yet (not sure but the title doesn't really seem like it would be the final one) so I wanted to add to maybe skip the paragraph directly below this. I am vague but I'm not sure my vagueness was actually even vague enough. So it might be better to just skip it.) I'm both excited n worried to see how Kara scene 2 plays out for u. I hope u got through it alright emotional. I'm curious to know how u play it since u unlocked everything for that section to go any number of ways. Depending on that outcome, I wonder if u'll have the chance encounter (idk if u finished the game yet cuz as of typing this comment, I haven't even opened ur channel page yet. So i'm being vague) that can happen much later on n I really wonder how u'd react to it if u do get that scene piece. Well, onto part 2 I go 😅. Subscribing before I click if for sure tho. Also, 💜 have a great day/night
thank you so much for the kind comment! and for the spoiler alert message lol. I haven't finished the game yet! I'm on episode 6 currently, but will be wrapping it up either this week or next week 💚 I'm glad you're enjoying this game through my eyes & have enjoyed this series so far!
@@kaliwali I've loved every second of ur playthrough so far. I didn't watch the majority of the 5th episode because I had to get to sleep (i had already stayed up all night n wanted to sleep before sunrise at the very least) n I slept through the entire day. I'm gonna continue the 5th episode after I finish this reply. Skip this paragraph if u wanna replay the game after u finish it cuz I talk about some of the other paths for the stuff I watched u play up to this point. If u wanna go back in to see some of the other paths n don't wanna be spoiled about any of it, just skip this paragraph. The ppl that don't help the cop usually didn't see him n even if they did, they didn't go close enough to get the interaction popup. Some did get the popup n decided to leave him but that is pretty rare in my experience. N in the escape from Todd scene, the ppl that don't go for the window either didn't realize they had the option or didn't get to the room (i.e. break the programming) in time for it to still even be an option. Pretty much everyone unlocks the option but they either forget before they get to it, get the gun first (so no reason to rush out the slippery window), don't realize they r actually supposed to move after being told not to, or fail parts of the fight (which ensues if u wait too long, choose the wrong option, or go for the gun first) resulting in being on the wrong side of the room for a quick window escape to work. N as for the kara scene where u have a lot of locations to choose from, u did a really good job there. It's not a scene I particularly enjoy, but I did wanna say u did good there. Everywhere was dangerous n unlike a lot of other parts of the game, the more exploration u do there seems to raise the probability of Connor n Kara having an encounter. Specifically the trip into the store n going to the Motel. The Laundry Mat seems to be entirely about ur relationship with Alice cuz I don't remember seeing anyone actually fail to steal the clothes n get caught if they chose to steal them. N there doesn't seem to be any issues resulting from not stealing them either. And (THIS IS THE MOST SPOILERY PART OF THIS PARAGRAPH. I REPEAT, most spoilery of this paragraph) the other path in that confrontation with Leo scene is the bad route. U got the good ending of that scene. Ur instincts about Carl in that moment where very correct. And it definitely does seem like Leo died there, for the longest time, I just didn't process that he survived. But the wording makes it clear that he indeed suffered a severe brain injury and didn't die. But yeah, that other ending is absolutely heartbreaking. Listening to Carl n enduring was what one of the first playthroughs I watched did and its so horrible. Especially since the ultimate result is Markus' destruction either way. Instead tho, Leo points at u and says u did it. Absolutely no empathy from him. (Back to non-spoilery n not even gameplay focused things) Oh and I've never actually seen ANYONE go into the extras menu to look through stuff they've unlocked. Ur vids r the first time I've seen literally any of it. That Kara short movie reveals soooooo much context for the game that u legitimately don't get ingame (unless it's given during one of the worst endings which I haven't watched at all, or blocked out if I did). But seeing all that art is amazing. And I only learned thanks to a comment under another playthrough that Alice was originally a little black girl so that was my first time seeing the original model. All of the characters were made using physical mapping on actual actors. The actors did the movements for it. I'm pretty sure there were some stunt performers involved for more dangerous stuff but, for the most part, the actors physically did their parts. The actor that played Connor plays the game on its anniversary every year with his wife. His wife played the Tracey's. Jessie Williams is the most quickly identified by new players, the second fastest is Carl's actor. Third quickest recognition is Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs. For the main cast, the rest of the characters r harder to recognize from other media for most ppl. I always misidentify Kara's actress. For some reason how she looks in the game looks exactly how I remember the main character in Divergent looking. Their faces r too similar for my bad memory to identify them as different ppl. I'm glad u got through the tornado alright. I didn't even know a tornado happened so recently, I guess I haven't really been getting my usual new content notifs so I had no idea. And thank u for reading my comment. I'm always so happy when a creator reads my comment. It makes my day. Info about my commenting habits (I realized just how unnecessary this part really was but still wanted to leave it here 😅): It doesn't happen a lot cuz of how long they almost always r so when it does happen, I'm always just so happy. I do make short comments sometimes, but it's rare. When I do, I may do it like that for a few days then return to my normal comment size. Its a headspace based thing. When my sense of time is an absolute 0 n my sense of self awareness is around 25-50%, my comments r supersized. When one of those previous percentages is above 50%, the size of the comment shrinks drastically. When self-confidence comes into play, my likelihood of even leaving a comment is pretty much 0. The only times I leave a comment when I'm in that head space r when I really have something I want to say. Those r the times I take close to 3 hours typing a comment that's probably half this size edited down 20+ times with how of it deleted minutes prior to posting. Have an amazing day! 💜
I'm sorry what you've been through. I was similarly effected by the story. I'm happy you've been able to take steps toward a better place. I can't wait to keep watching
i know i’m late to this video, but i really appreciate your beginning talk about ai. as an artist it saddens me that people have already started to devalue art, so im glad to be watching someone who has similar views as me!
i have never watched you before, but Im glad I am able to see you play this game. I agree with all of your opinions in this video. I think you are a great person and will watch more from you. Keep up the good work. Hope to get to know you better in the future.
RUclips recommended me some Detroit Become Human trailers so yep i need to relive the times when i binge watched some Detroit gameplay again and thankfully i found your channel!!, i love your attention to detail through out this gameplay. Many players just skip that magazine tablet or don't even bother to look at the dates! also honestly i agree on your view towards the android in terms of that android taking space on sport lol. And I just can't wait to binge watch the whole journey of your gameplay!!
I can't relate completely to the Alice storyline, or your experiences, because while I had a similar childhood of walking on eggshells and enduring physical and verbal abuse, it was all from my younger sister. Which wasn't great, but cannot compare to the betrayal that having parental figures be the ones to hurt you has to cause. I hope you have someone to hug when you need hugs, someone to comfort you when you need comfort.
So excited to see this! I subscribed when I saw you play the last of us because I've never seen someone be both so good at gaming while connecting to the stories.
I just discovered your playthrough today and I already LOVE your intro! I am very sorry that Kara’s and Alice’s part hit home so much for you. This game is incredibly good at storytelling but it deals with a lot of very serious topics and even if it kinda falls into the category of science fiction, the realism of a lot of its scenes is almost eerie. It is also okay to take a break from playing a game and maybe come back later when it becomes too much (I know I have done that several times). You are an amazing person from what I have seen so far, I am really looking forward to the rest of your playthrough. The topic of AI is a highly complex one and does not have an easy answer and I believe this game showcases that brilliantly. My sister is an artist so I am in very much in touch with that part of the AI-debate. I totally agree that art generated by AI cannot rival that created by humans but even worse, the use of AI in art related industries threatens the very livelihood of so many people. AI-programs are trained using art from real people without their consent, basically comitting art theft which is already a huge problem in our digital age. Yet it is somehow considered okay and legal? But then there are the fields of medicine and security where the use of AI literally saves lives, so it depends really on the way and area we use it in. And Detroit asks similar questions as well. Is AI good or bad? This is why I think the first chapter is so ingenius because it already gives a good answer: It can be both. An android stopping another android from hurting and killing people already shows how complicated this topic can be. Also: Congratulations on acing the first scene! It is a high stress moment and learning the controls while simultaneously finding all clues and making decisions is not easy. But you intuitively did literally everything right! This is going to be so fun and interesting. Cheers.
I played this game years ago when it came out on PS4.. So excited to experience the journey again through your eyes. You are in for a such a great experience and treat...Kinda like ME (which is my fav of all time) but also very different (in a good way) ! This game was meant for a player like you as it was for me. Thank you for picking this one to play!
as someone with a troublesome childhood as well i can relate to your feelings very well too. moments like these are a harsh reminder of what happened and trigger our memories hard. took me 10 yrs of therapy to work through all the mess. i am mostly okay now, but the anxiety stayed. got somewhat more manageble though. for the really bad days i have meds that help a lot and i can have a life now.
I see that Lance Henriksen (Admiral Hackett) is one of the voices in this game. I've only just started watching your playthrough, so I'll be keeping an ear out for that lovely, gravelly voice!
Very interested to see how you progress in this one. Its one of my favorites and it touches on SO many things. You have barely scrathed the surface. I left u before cause we had some "irreconcilable" differences of opinion, but I'm back and here to support on this one. Good luck; this game is a gem!
I subscribed simply based on your intro. You are very thoughtful and introspective. It partially worries me on how you are going to make decisions in this game but play them through regardless of how things go. They are YOUR decisions so don't change things based off of negative comments you might get.
OMG I was watching and liking how you handled the first mission and then you mentioned Mazzy Star, one of my favorite bands. The song you were thinking about was probably Into Dust.
@@kaliwali That's so cool! When I first heard the song, I thought about Comptine D'un Autre Été from the film "The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain". The beginning is almost the same 🙂
Great video your analysis of the scenes being portrayed are well thought out and make for an enjoyable conversation, Detroit is still one of the best choice based games still today and I enjoyed watching this.
One of my fave games of all time. Just a tip: record your reaction before you even start the game. Later on, the game interface itself will give you a choice that’s permanent.
I'm super happy you are doing this game! :D I feel like this will be a different experience for you from Mass Effect since many decisions have to be made under a short time rather than allowing you to sit and think. I'm sorry that you seem to have had really difficult situations in your childhood. That's really hard and not fair to you. Good for you for overcoming those things even though it can still be tough memories. I know you will do a great job in this game. :) Look forward to seeing more.
I love this game so much! All gameplays there is, I watch.. ALL OF THEM 0.0 (I hate being poor ;-;) And of all players I seen, I would say you're one of the best ones! You're very curious of the tiny things in the game and even reads the articles tablet thingys!! I loving watching you play DBH❤
omg !! yay ! another super great game to watch a first time play through , soo excited !! there are some hard choices and heartbreak in this game as well !
Thank u so much bring this game for your channel. I'll was definitely needing to hear that message by you in the end, like for real..❤ Plus, I'm new here on your channel and I definitely subscribed 💖
You just got a new subscriber❤ this game is amazing. You will love it. There are so much replayability scenarios play out differently, depending on the choices you make sometimes affecting things way in the later parts of the game it’s honestly, so cool
Really really happy that you’re playing this game. Definitely a great game that elicits the same emotions as Mass Effect trilogy for me. Had a feeling that you would find Alice’s situation more emotional from what you’ve shared about yourself and your childhood. Got me tearing up seeing your reaction 😢 I don’t know how much further you’ve played but it won’t be too long that whole situation. Anyway, this is the perfect follow up game and if you haven’t already played ‘Life is Strange’ then please consider for sometime in the future. Can’t wait for the next upload! 😊 🦊 🤗
This game is a masterpiece, and Connor is one of the most badass characters ever. I'm actually really glad that there are people still playing or getting into it for the first time.
Absolutely love your insights and the way you engage with the game! It's been years since I played it, watched a few playthroughs throughout the years, and yours really stand out - I feel like I'm rediscovering the game and loving it anew, if that makes sense? So, so glad this was in my recommended. Teared up at the end, much love to you ♥
I just found your channel and this was a banger of a video!! Loved the way you were really into the game and its themes. About to binge the rest of this series!! 🤝
Came here for the game, which i've seen a few play throughs and have completed myself. BUT THE INTRO has me hitting SUBSCRIBE because, I don't know how old you are, but it's a viewpoint i've had since the mid 80s, after watching a school video about automatic tellers that you scan your items. I'm a gamer and arcade tech the past 30 years, that just turned 51. FYI, if you listen to old time sci fi radio shows, EXACTLY your sentiment is what is basically being expressed in the 1940s
Glad you've started releasing the episodes. Originally I was worried that you had some kind of problem getting it released, or had decided to play it on Twitch. Anyway, yeah, hope you enjoy the rest of the game. Kara's story is one of my favourite. EDIT: Also, don't know if you noticed in the intro, but Admiral Hackett's voice actor (Lance Henriksen) is also in this game.
So excited you're playing this game. It's truly an amazing journey to experience. I hope you get through it alright. That last chapter hit hard for sure.❤All three main stories are beautifully done though and create real emotions within the players, especially since decisions have to be made quick and in the moment. Anyway, have fun and also if you're interested, I'd definitey recommend going to watch the voice actor for Connor (Bryan) and his wife (Amelia's) RUclips channel. They did a Let's Play and it was so interesting hearing their points of view about the game and the behind the scenes info. Plus, they're just really nice people.🙌
Awesome recommendation! That's very neat how him and his wife went through the storyline & I'd love to hear their view on things after I'm done with my play through! 💚
Haha !!! You set the Mass Effect music !!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 You are right it is so beautiful, but it gets very emotional, I find it sad as it reminds me when I watched your Mass Effect trilogy playthrough, when you discovered it... Oh Girl, how much I miss it ! That's crazy but, while I am writing those words, tears run down my cheeks, but I do understand why you chose that music, that means a lot, that means how much the Mass Effect trilogy, its ambiance, its musics, follow you, how much it is now a part of your identity, a part of you, how much it fills your heart 💖💖💖💖💖 I can't wait to watch your video, but I just wanted to write that comment before I'm doing so
I love your way of playing this amazing game! I've seen multiple play throughs these past years and I lovee your attention to detail and you think of everything and really feel everything that happends. I already know that im going to lovee this series. You seem like an amazing person ❤ Edit: I just finished the video and im crying... about this game... again... Really shows how real this game feels.
must admit, i have been waiting for this upload. very excited to see how you go through this game. fyi, there are over 80 different endings. and knowing how you think every decision through, guessing this game will take a year to finish lol. jkjk. every decision does count, be ready for MANY quick time events, and if you mistime them, things will go.....not well. Always listen to Chloe on the main menu screen, she speaks alot and is quite the character as well. this game is going to be rough, but is ABSOLUTELY amazing. ive played through probably 6 or 7 times. not as many times as Mass Effect, but still. love this game and look forward to watching your playthrough. also, buy tissues and blood pressure medication......gonna need it
You're the first person I've seen help the cop by the pool in the opening and I've seen dozens of playthroughs. Good job. I love this game. I hope you enjoy your journey.
I was so scared but I also didn't want him to die lol. I also wanted the android see another android helping a human but I don't think that mattered as much 🤣🤣
@@kaliwaliHonestly, most people don't even notice the cop. They usually walk right on by. I'm glad you are trying to explore everything. Though, a little warning, there will be times when you can't explore EVERYTHING because you're on a time limit.
Really happy to see you are playing Detroit now, just finished your Mass Effect series and throughly enjoyed it. Detroit is one of my favorite games ever so I'm curious to see how your playthrough and experience is.
Having good public opinion can be important in the end. I love the voice of brayan dechart (connor). I watch his streams many times because of how relaxing his voice is.
And I thought I was the one who would go from RDR2 to Mass Effect series to Detroit but its actually cool to know that I'm not the only one lol. It's been fun seeing the playthrough from the perspective of someone playing the game for the first time, something that cant be retained.
That was basically a perfect playthrough of that initial Connor scene. I don't think I've seen anyone do it as well as that. I especially appreciate you saving that dying cop, almost no one ever does that.
Yeah, I've watched several other playthroughs and I've never seen someone save that cop before
Dude this girl is freaking smart and pays the right amount of attention to what's on the screen. She doesn't get lost in distractions or speculation like a lot of the streamers I've seen.
@@rivercitymud Yes, it's rare for girl to play like this, they're often distracted and don't know where to go😂
Not much of an achievement as it's not a blind playthrough.
I was gonna say the same, a lot of people miss the dying cop and it was awesome to see somebody helping him!
So the entire game kinda owes its existence to Valorie Curry and her amazing performance as Kara.
oh wow! thank you for sharing this I had no idea 😱
ruclips.net/video/TDxOUD7AgJk/видео.html
True, you could see Kara's tech demo in the previous Quantic Dream game called Beyond Two Souls, it appeared as an extra, I would like Kali to play that game one day
@@kaliwaliYou can actually see the original tech demo here on RUclips from back then. Just search it.
Same
Almost everyone I saw gets 100% lol. Ig that either means I know how to find good let's players or I watch yt way too much
Its actually pretty easy ngl, you just have to use clues and not sacrifice self
I can't pretend to relate to what you've experienced, but from the first interactions with Alice and how timid she was, the game became Alice over everything to me too. Also, NEVER mute Chloe (the main menu AI), jk lol, but she's a really cool touch to this game. All your playthroughs and the ones you have planned in the near future are bangers, keep 'em coming!
👍
Also, stay strong for this playthrough n throughout the whole series💪🏽 Once again, GREAT work Ma'am!
me starting the video: “alright it’s not mass effect but i’ll give it a chance…
*5 minutes into gameplay: 🍿🍿🥤
LOL I'm glad you're enjoying it so far!!
@@kaliwali Same. But I was like ''She's not on Last of Us 2 yet''... :)
oh my, the obvious pain the scenes with Todd and Alice put you through was hard to watch. I am so sorry for whatever you've been through.
7:53 I actually really enjoyed your leaving in the download screen and talking about the different versions of AI in the game. It really is something to think about that could happen in our future!
glad you love my thoroughness here! 🤍
your attention to detail is crazy!! i love the way you play the game, and your reaction to alice’s situation was very touching 🫶
i really feel you on the alice situation and how hard it can affect people even years after the things that have transpired. karas storyline specifically really touched me and made me invested in the game, because kara represented all the things id have wanted MY mother to do and tell me when i was going through similar things. kara is so gentle towards alice and it really gets to me how far she is willing to go to protect her and keep her safe. i love those two dearly :'))
The mass effect piano music in the background 😭
Mass Effect is also a name of a game
Fr
such a great game
Thank you for playing the first episode and an extra thanks for your honesty and encouragement at the end of the video. 🙏🏽
thank you so much! 💚
@@kaliwali❤❤❤❤❤
I love how this game asks the question “how much convenience is too much convenience?”
Every aspect of human life and the human experience has been supplemented and even in some instances replaced by Androids.
Instantly subscribed and hoping you've played other games that I know so that I can binge them all!
thank you for the sub and thoughtful comment 💚 I'm glad you're enjoying this series so far!
I just got recommended your channel. I totally get your connection to Kara and Alice's story. I also grew up on eggshells afraid to speak, or... Idk live. But I appreciate your realness. I'm excited to see you go through this journey. I hope you'll love it. Thanks for sharing ❤
thank you for sharing! and welcome in 💚 I hope you're in a better, safer place now and know that it's okay to live your life!
Thank you for the new sub and giving my series a chance! I'm glad you're enjoying it so far 💚
1:38:33 The fact 98% of players found the key, but only 90% opened the box confuses me 🙈
right??? why wouldn't you open the box lol
Because a lot of players are either forgetful, distracted easily, or just don’t notice the box immediately.
@@RabbitsFunWorld Not to mention replaying the game
As someone who has seen a lot of different playthroughs of this game. You'd be amazed by knowing how much people get distracted so easily or just don't focus on the game at all
@@Lucamilouz I also think they believe they can come back and do it
30:36 You probably already noticed this, but pay attention the music during tense situations.
Because I Don't Know How To Cry In the first place....you can say i am humanoid And I Don't Know How To Console Someone Either....I Would Rather Walk Away Because I Know It Will Go Bad If I Enter The Situation.....Well I Didn't Had Any Abusive Childhood Or Anything But I Had Gone Through A Lot.....So I Can Feel You At The Emotional Level Without Emotions.....But Keep It Up.🖤
You’ve been playing a bunch of my favorite games lately and it’s very awesome to witness lol
👍
💚💚💚
I love your video. This game takes place in 2038 and its crazy to think that the 2030s is only 6 years away from now.
one of the best games ever IMO, and def one of my favorite to watch playthroughs of, currently watching Jettro play and came across your channel, you KILLED it during the first Conner interaction, cant wait to watch your journey!
Thank You.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you found this channel 💚
I'm sorry for what you've been through, lots of love. Also, loved the way you played this
Does this unit have a soul - The game
Was very much looking forward to playing this, as I think it's really a perfect fit for what you like in a game and how immersed you get while playing.

Thank you for your reaction. Your attention to detail is incredible.
From edi and the geth to detroid become hunan thats actualy a very logical progression
50:14 You might even say.. they're becoming human. Really looking forward to this playthrough, Kali! Even though I am 7 months late. Glad I found your channel!
I hadn't watched gameplay of one of my fav games in like FOREVER!
This is so nice to watch, since I might've forgot many things. :)
Wow this was a great beginning. You were thorough and really took your time to explore the world.
Subscribed!
Looking forward to watching everything else you do :)
thank you! 💚
You’re so strong! So happy I found your videos. May only the BEST come to you sis! 💕
this is my introduction to ur channel and got me subscribed even at the intro, just the way how u talked abt ur thoughts (since i'm a broke artist myself lol), I just know i'll luv ur gameplay, especially the last gameplay of DBH i've watched managed to get all the characters get killed in casual mode 💀 so this is so much better already. it's evident in ur connor mission gameplay with 2-3 times stabalized in 99% since the game gives chances to achieve 100%.
just one tip tho: reading all the pages in magazines are completely fine at first parts of this game, but there'll be times were the time u consume reading is included in ur time exploring and u'll miss alot, so just look out for those or skimming the mag is more advisable
I'm glad you're loving the channel so far and thank you for the tips! 💚
🤣💚 I just cant let ME go, I think it will forever follow me now lol
@@kaliwali ME made me think so much that's it's partially part of my life now, I basically grew up with it. I would feel bad if I was ever to forget it so yeah it will forever be in our minds.
Anyway, big words for a simple idea, enjoy DBH, I for sure enjoyed it several times.
I just want to say how perfect of a first mission that was. I think you unlocked everything in your first playthrough of connors first mission
So it might be better to just skip it.)
I'm both excited n worried to see how Kara scene 2 plays out for u.
Info about my commenting habits (I realized just how unnecessary this part really was but still wanted to leave it here 😅):
It doesn't happen a lot cuz of how long they almost always r so when it does happen, I'm always just so happy.
Watching a first time playthrough with Mass Effect background music. Nice! 👍🏾
love ME! 💚
I've only just started watching your playthrough, so I'll be keeping an ear out for that lovely, gravelly voice!
yesss! I noticed as I was editing and I'm very excited to see where his voice actor is in the game!
I haven't noticed that, which character does he voice?
@@baliri I don't know yet. However, I'll know it when I hear it.

Absolutely loved the first episode! The play-through was fantastic, and I really appreciated hearing your thoughts on it.
thank you! 💚
Very interested to see how you progress in this one. Its one of my favorites and it touches on SO many things. You have barely scrathed the surface. I left u before cause we had some "irreconcilable" differences of opinion, but I'm back and here to support on this one. Good luck; this game is a gem!
this comment made me smile :) welcome back!
@kaliwali Aww shucks ☺️. I'm glad.
10000% thinking about Into Dust
@@kaliwali That's so cool! When I first heard the song, I thought about Comptine D'un Autre Été from the film "The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain". The beginning is almost the same 🙂
Well done Kali! Proud of you what comes to the end of this video.
Great video your analysis of the scenes being portrayed are well thought out and make for an enjoyable conversation, Detroit is still one of the best choice based games still today and I enjoyed watching this.
One of my fave games of all time. Just a tip: record your reaction before you even start the game. Later on, the game interface itself will give you a choice that’s permanent.
oooo good tip, thank you!
ALL OF THEM 0.0 (I hate being poor ;-;)
And of all players I seen, I would say you're one of the best ones!
I'll was definitely needing to hear that message by you in the end, like for real..❤ Plus, I'm new here on your channel and I definitely subscribed 💖
thank you for the new sub! i'm glad you don't feel so alone with my outro 💚 it helps knowing other people understand your shoes
🦊 🤗
This game is a masterpiece, and Connor is one of the most badass characters ever. I'm actually really glad that there are people still playing or getting into it for the first time.
Absolutely love your insights and the way you engage with the game! It's been years since I played it, watched a few playthroughs throughout the years, and yours really stand out - I feel like I'm rediscovering the game and loving it anew, if that makes sense? So, so glad this was in my recommended.
Teared up at the end, much love to you ♥
That kara chapter was really touching :(. Sorry for what u had go trough, all good for u!
Ahhhh very cool about Admiral Hackett! I'm excited to see who he voices!
@@kaliwali❤❤❤
Very special game, will never hit you the same as the first playthrough. Excited to see the rest
That's crazy but, while I am writing those words, tears run down my cheeks, but I do understand why you chose that music, that means a lot, that means how much the Mass Effect trilogy, its ambiance, its musics, follow you, how much it is now a part of your identity, a part of you, how much it fills your heart 💖💖💖💖💖
I can't wait to watch your video, but I just wanted to write that comment before I'm doing so
I'm so sorry to see you getting triggered by Karas story. On a positive note, the acting and delivery was so good. Todds acting is scaringly good.
I love your way of playing this amazing game! I've seen multiple play throughs these past years and I lovee your attention to detail and you think of everything and really feel everything that happends. I already know that im going to lovee this series. You seem like an amazing person ❤
Edit: I just finished the video and im crying... about this game... again... Really shows how real this game feels.
An incredible game, thank you for bringing it!
I hope The Walking Dead is also on your list, they're all worth it👀
It is on my list!! Coming around end of summer/fall time ✨
Only seen the intro and can tell this is going to be a good playthrough
must admit, i have been waiting for this upload. very excited to see how you go through this game. fyi, there are over 80 different endings. and knowing how you think every decision through, guessing this game will take a year to finish lol. jkjk. every decision does count, be ready for MANY quick time events, and if you mistime them, things will go.....not well.
I am scared for these moments bc I feel like I will fail lol @@Joker_JAK
@@kaliwali❤❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing your playthrough with us. I consider this game a master piece.
Really happy to see you are playing Detroit now, just finished your Mass Effect series and throughly enjoyed it. Detroit is one of my favorite games ever so I'm curious to see how your playthrough and experience is.
welcome into another series! so far I've been loving this game too. it's amazingly deep & much more than I thought going in at first 💚
Having good public opinion can be important in the end.
