You've got to love that mechanic. I still remember how I was once steamrolled by Moroccan nationalists during my Byzantium game. I mean, they could have gone for Castille who actually held provinces in Morocco, but why would they? No, let's just siege Greece instead, surely we will get independence that way.
Well I have seen the Grenada nationists stacks go and besiege Lithuania for decades but I still remember way back in the day when any nationist Rebel occupying something got a core there.
I've only managed to get the Bavaria achievement from those on this list, I did it via giving Bremen coastal African provinces through multiple wars to give them colonial range rather than through land
That's a really good idea! Did you transfer occupation to them in war and grant the provinces that way? IIRC you can't sell provinces to vassals if they are in a different sealane but I didn't double check. Congratulations on the rare achievement!
@@AlzaboHD yeah, I colonised my way to the province before realising Bremen didn't have range, so I had to do 2 or 3 wars against random African nations which wasn't too difficult
Same here. Much easier to go all around Africa and feed Bremen provinces after wars. And probably best to make them a March. Maybe start with noCB on Bretagne or Irish minor to feed a foothold to Bremen. Then Marokko should be fine next.
2:09 That's not true. Yes Mysore starts with 2 provinces instead of one and a little more dev + an extra troop. Madurai though has both more cores but also better cores with lots of more dev and 3 trade centers. They also start with a ship with a total of 10 ships. Their capital is also a gem province so their eco isn't that much worse. Just some details but I had to point it out, good video! :D

As someone with Stern des Sudens and Stiff Upper Lippe, some advice for both: Stern des Sudens - One of the Bavarian missions gives you a center of trade in your capital. I conquered Amsterdam and made that my capital to gain an extra center of trade in English Channel Node. From that point on I just printed money. - You don't need to snake feed Bremen. What I did was after consolidating English Channel, I charted trade companies around Africa, then DoW'd Morocco, Benin, Kongo, Kilwa and Marehan (in that order) and gave Bremen one province from them each. That was enough to get to Somalia to get the province. Stiff Upper Lippe - As Berg I conquered Friesland, Utrecht and Ostfriesland, released Lippe, and fed them the Dutch provinces before re-integrating them. After releasing and playing as Lippe it becomes a very simple Dutch game of trade and colonialism as you slowly conquer UK. EDIT: just wanted to mention you can theoretically get identity crisis by colonizing NA. It requires very precise diplo usage and some luck. I was 3 years off from completing it because of a regency and haven't tried again yet
The first rare achievement i got was "die please die" i tried so hard to kill my duke by constantly being at war and losing as many battles as possible. He refused to die until I gave up on him. You shouldn't include the newest achievements. Not many players obtained them since they heve been here for a very short time. Also, Ainu guide would be nice too.
You can just give Bremen a couple provinces in a peace deal instead of making a snake through Africa. Looks like you're used to the subject interaction transferring.
I remember I once loved going after achievements in this game, but then I learned how crazy fun the game could be with custom nations and mods. Still have a desire to go back and do some of the more generic achievements thou.
For Mary of Lotharingia, you don't need the event version of Marie to get the achievement. Just have a female heir and name her Marie. Disinherit over and over if you need if RNG isn't in your favor.
I just did Stern Des Südens. Its actually a pretty fun one to do since you have a nice mission tree to work through while preparing to either go around Africa or through Egypt down to Werder in Somalia

Awesome Video as Always. Just wanted to mention the Lippe is releasable until 1594, you can release them easily as any european power. I got the achievement playing as Bohemia and vassal feeding all of Great Britain to Lippe
I just got On the Rhodes Again yesterday, was only 4 months off from getting the achievement for founding Jerusalem as them. I feel so proud of myself to be part of this elite group.
for stern des sudens you can totally vassal-feed bremen with coastal provinces around europe and africa (at the time of 1600) when you take them in peace deals. Less bordergore
For my 'stiff upper lippe' achievement I managed to get a PU over an irish minor which GB had not conquered yet (for some reason). From there it was quite easy to get the rest of the british isles.
Tiger of mysore is one I got without even realizing tiger of mysore was an achievement, I just picked mysore for a campaign it and later on realized that achievement existed, which I ended up getting. It was a pretty fun run. Also, I wasn't cilli.
Maybes it’s just my horrible sleep schedule but looking at that “Scandinavian Isles” map made and hearing about all the no CB wars it would take made me physically ill.
For my inner turmoil run with the Isles, I went into Africa and conquered the Kongo ... going that way is definitly not as hard as true heir of timur but still a bit RNG dependand gotta say though they have a pretty nice map color.
The Lippe one is the easiest one on this list apart from Mysore and Münich xD I won't spoil it, but I can tell you there is *one* thing that makes the Lippe achievement (and one other I can't remember right now) stand out from all the others, which makes it ridicolously easy. Also, you can force other nations to release non-existing nations if they have a core in their territory...
To give context to the "Stern des Südens" Achievment Bavaria has the most point all time in the bundesliga followed by the club "Werder Bremen" who has the second most all time
10:17 Much easier to go by sea. Feed Bremen coastal centres of trade and cheap provinces at max range. You'll get there *much* quicker than doing a snake. Take Sinai and that other province. Continue coastal hopping if you feel short on time for some reason... ... you have the _entire_ game to finish it. Should be harder *not* being able to do it... it's ONE province with NO timer lol (You can also use the great new mission trees and simply take provinces for yourself and later feed them).
Stiff Upper Lippe is far easier than it seems tbh. You start as England, vassalise Eastern Frisia (Easy to do at the start of the game) to have easier access to the Lippe province, play normally by conquering the Isles and getting France in a PU. Then you conquer the province that has the Lippian core (It vanishes in 1594 so make sure you get it before then), release them, feed them all of the British islands, annex them and then release them again and choose play as. Influence and Admin ideas help. Was surprised at how easy it really was in the end.
oh hey i got the Bologna achievement :D it was off to a rough start when i expanded to the wrong coast to begin with, but i was still able to get it before 1560 and now i proudly display the achievement on my steam profile
Pro tip: any achievement that requires a releasable nation is easy, you can just release, feed, annex, then release and play as at the end of the run. So you can just do a regular France game and then release Lippe at the end.
Great advice. But it will take a truly great eu4 player to start with an opm and do the achievement. So maybe get the achievement this way and after a while when you are a better player do the opm way.
@@mikewayland2576 I don't think it takes a truly great EU4 player, it's just a standard HRE game. The reason people do releasable nation achievements the "easy way" is just to save time

Hey, I have a suggestion for a video: Top Diplomatic Nations. I’m not sure if it’s even possible but I think it would be cool to try and make it through a game completely trying to be a pacifist and avoid war playing strictly diplomatically.
Except for number 4, 3, 2 i have them all. Here is how i did Stiff upper Lippe : Start as France, (ally spain, and wait for England to declare war by event) conquer England , slowly conquer into the HRE for the relevant german province of Ravensburg. Now release lippe as a Vassal. Feed Lippe your own cores until u can feed it all your lands in britain. Now reintegrate your Lippe vassal. This will take alot time and and diplo. French britain is now populated with Lippe cores. Now release Lippe and select play as. Congratz on having youre very own Stiff upper Lippe. This can be used for any achievement not having the "start as" requirement.
Can we get a top best military focused nations? Or perhaps a top ten overpowered events other than the already known 'Burgundian succession' and 'Iberian Wedding'?
I Taked finally the achievement with Lippe to conquest entire British Island. 220 Years from 1444, Wuahhh now i will try others achievement, that it wasn't hard. I played with some Dlc: Art of War,Common Sense,Res Publica , Wealth of Nations and American Dreams.
I got Spaghetti Western shortly after 1.3 came out. The final stage sucks because Texas has generic missions and only *arguably* better ideas than Bologna, depending on what you wanna do- I ended up quitting the run after the achievement popped.
Well, lets talk about the Stern des Südens achievement - someone at Paradox knows (or is fan of) German soccer. Bayern München (Bavaria Munich - the most successful German soccer club) had a ravilary with Werder Bremen (another German soccer club). Stern des Südens is the title of the offical Bayern Munich soccer club fan song. Just FYI
My rarest one is it's all greek to me. (As greece, own a province in india and ethiopia). Pretty fun, although you pretty much can only start as venice, and it's pretty luck-based at the start. After that it's the exact same thing as byzantium, except you don't need to conquer venice.
For those who don't know: "Stern des Südens" is the anthem of the German football club FC Bayern München. And about 15 years ago, (Werder) Bremen was FC Bayern's biggest rival in the german league.
Thanks for the interesting analysisLooking forward to the next big patch and my next run at world conquest as Ryukyu. Question......off hand - Does anyone know, if I form Japan and conquer the world but start as Ryukyu...would I still get the Ryukyu conquest achievment?
You need conquest of paradise to play as a released colonial nation, so spaghetti western is impossible without dlc. Also, the second place is likely a mistake, because there’s a city called werder in mecklemburg, which would make it quite normal, with the powerful mission tree.
1. You don't need conquest of paradise, if you move your capital to the new world before the colonial nation forms. That requires to give up all but one province in europe, but then it should be possible without DLC. 2. I don't think it is a mistake, paradox likes to make crazy weird (and somewhat hard) achievements. Otherwise it could have also just been Verden (close enough), which is directly next to Bremen. Both were quite fun achievements though. Even though the border-gore with bayern was intense :D
I don't know, EU4 achievements are more limited by my free time than difficulty. Apart from True Heir of Timur or Eat your Greens I reckon I can do all achievements without too much trouble. The problem is when I start blobbing again... it just eats so much time. For example the Munich achievement is a piece of cake, form Bavaria, become emperor, for all of which you have missions directly helping you, win a bunch of wars while doing nothing and feed your vassal. But it still takes like 3 evenings.
A lot of paradox achievements are like that. On hoi4 for example the achievements either mean "fight and kill at least two major factions" or "spend 8 hours of gametime doing something absolutely pointless like researching rockets as poland or building carriers as colombia"
I have all 3 of the Indian Subcontient ones and nearly have another one... Just need a female ruler named Marie for Burgundy - I've formed Lotharingia. Next thing I'll do on that campaign is dismantle the empire, probably after the league war(catholic empire would work for that since most of the empire is protestant) then I force unions over Bavaria and Austria and get the other burgundy achievement. :)
Well, 9:50 I just did that achievement yesterday by doing all the HRE reforms as Bavaria. Breman don't have colonial range, so I can't transfer occupation or grant them. So, I just simply kill Naples, Ottomans and Mamluks by HRE vassal swarms and then annex a feel HRE vassals for making a Breman snake. The snakes cut Germany to Venice then to Naples, Greece, Crete, Egypt, Ethopia and finally Werder. Here it go Werder Breman, the most obscure border in History that should be remembered :D.

gotta say though they have a pretty nice map color.
Yeah! Good video, thanks
as a werder bremen fan the "stern des süden" achievement breaks my heart
I actually got a pretty rare one recently, starting a war against a country who I had sold condottiere to. Pretty fun little plot twist there.
The Lippe one is the easiest one on this list apart from Mysore and Münich xD
I won't spoil it, but I can tell you there is *one* thing that makes the Lippe achievement (and one other I can't remember right now) stand out from all the others, which makes it ridicolously easy. Also, you can force other nations to release non-existing nations if they have a core in their territory...
I would love to see detailed guide for Inner Turmoil and Stiff Upper Lippe, and Jerusalem of course.
I feel bad to have started loving this game so late in my life.
To give context to the "Stern des Südens" Achievment Bavaria has the most point all time in the bundesliga followed by the club "Werder Bremen" who has the second most all time
I've done Tiger of Mysore, quite a fun achivement and it's not too long (got it in the 1570s)
Lippe has the rose of Lancaster ? That's actually pretty cool.
Should be harder *not* being able to do it... it's ONE province with NO timer lol
(You can also use the great new mission trees and simply take provinces for yourself and later feed them).
I heard that intro and the one thing that came to mind was ISP
Too bad my ironside partnership expires next week! No longer will there be the glorious hammer
oh hey i got the Bologna achievement :D
it was off to a rough start when i expanded to the wrong coast to begin with, but i was still able to get it before 1560 and now i proudly display the achievement on my steam profile
Hey Alzabo here's an idea for a video: Top 10 Events in the game (Like the Iberian Wedding or Napoleon)
Pro tip: any achievement that requires a releasable nation is easy, you can just release, feed, annex, then release and play as at the end of the run. So you can just do a regular France game and then release Lippe at the end.
This is great advice, thanks for the recommendation!
@@AlzaboHD yeah it takes the fun out of it but it's the same for the Welsh achievement, Great Moravia, etc etc. You don't even have to be independent.
@@flimpeenflarmpoon1353 yeah thats how I did the Rum Achievment with Asturia, after the whole Spain Tree Achievment.
Great advice. But it will take a truly great eu4 player to start with an opm and do the achievement. So maybe get the achievement this way and after a while when you are a better player do the opm way.
@@mikewayland2576 I don't think it takes a truly great EU4 player, it's just a standard HRE game. The reason people do releasable nation achievements the "easy way" is just to save time
Madurai in MEIOU and taxes: *strong Doge* I have the powerful army and control half of the Indian subcontinent and
Madurai in vannilla: *weak Doge* plz guarantee
Gotta say croatia is actually a lot of fun, showed me playing tall is not only viable but actually fun
I was caught off guard by that sponsorship.
Personally I'm not a fan of the cheesy achievements such as the Sindh Christianity conversion one. I do have the Madurai achievement and found that playthrough pretty fun. Their flag made me refer to them lovingly as the "fishy people"
Every Game of Thrones reference gives you +10 prestige. Well done
I played with some Dlc: Art of War,Common Sense,Res Publica , Wealth of Nations and American Dreams.
for the burgundy one, I formed lotharingia and was a superpower in about 100 years, and then no female ruler for the rest of the game.
I bet the ‘forgive me for I have sindh’. Will significantly increase in % now.
I really need to buy this game someday.
I got Spaghetti Western shortly after 1.3 came out. The final stage sucks because Texas has generic missions and only *arguably* better ideas than Bologna, depending on what you wanna do- I ended up quitting the run after the achievement popped.
Didn't know Tiger of Mysore was rare and now I need to update my steam achievements that are featured
Would love a Knights guide!
For those who don't know:
"Stern des Südens" is the anthem of the German football club FC Bayern München.
Hey i have tiger of mysore :D was the first thing i did when dharma came out.
Hears the ironside intro.
ISP!
My best one was forming Egypt as Florence it was a fun game though
I did the Lippe one and it was quite easy. It just took 300 years because Castille got a PU on Britain and annexed it 😐
My rarest achievement was to form Byzantine Empire with Montferrat, but now with Emperor DLC was nerfed
