Livonian Order the Lions of the North DLC HERE: play.europauniversalis.com/AlzaboHD. Thank you to Paradox for sponsoring today’s video with the new 1.34 EU4 update!
bro you deserve wayyyy more subs, your videos are so well made the constant puns and well written script shows just how much effort you put into your vids
@@AlzaboHD Oh wow, it never actually registered to me that you have less than 150k subs. You're the best Paradox game channel by a long shot in my view, I honestly just think I assumed you were huge because of how great the vids are haha
@@avall0nNn1992 Denmark is also relatively easy to PU early on, so if you ever play for the Atwix Legacy achievement I recommend starting as Austria and playing for a Denmark PU which will give you 3 thrones already. Then with Hungary, Bohemia, Poland, Lithuania from the mission tree, depending on luck Naples, Milan and Castile you will very quickly get what you need and you can still do HRE stuff.
@@blafoon93 yes but Naples is not dependent on Luck, you get them via mission tree aswell. Burgundy is also a save bet. You also get Bavaria but I'm not sure if it's a PU or Vassal-CB.
@Gerrit Paschulke you get missions for Milan and Naples but it's not uncommon that they are Republics by the time you get to those missions, so then you get perma claims instead of PUs from the missions. Burgundy is a pretty safe bet but will be automatically inherited shortly after, so I would not count on having a Burgundian Junior partner if I'm going for the Atwix Legacy achievement. The way I got it and in my opinion the easiest and fastest way is by getting a Danish PU. Took me pretty much exactly 50 ingame years this way. You can also just throw dip points out the window and marry every HRE minor but that's pretty lame.
The easy war on Riga is completely RNG, I've restarted 10 times as they ally always big nations around. Edit: finally made it last evening, after the wife and kiddo were sleeping, and I couldn't, had to fight a bit of the RNG with Novgorod and then Teutons and managed to get my head start. Livonian Order is really a very interesting and challenging (besides RNG dependent) start. On a sidenote, Sweden rivaled me and allied Poland, but the Gotland card is there!
Your cadence is pleasing to my ears, showing that I was right in having had no fears, over the quality of the video, so pleasing to the soul reminding me of the importance of having a goal. Carry on dear sir, for this is the content I do prefer.
The tactic of conquering Riga no longer works. Currently Riga has not 3 members of the trade league but 4-5 + often makes an alliance with Poland, so at the beginning of the game conquering it is impossible. Especially that her allies are not as passive as in this material and they combine a larger army with which we have no chance.
I have an idea for a challenge, you start as Cyprus in ck3 and can only use holy orders, become a crusader state and make your own form of crusader Christianity into the only religion!
Since when does the Balten culture exist? I haven't played for a year and that is completely new to me. Is it unique for Livonia or does Riga have it now instead of Prussian? I am confused. Ok, I've rewatched the video and Riga is indeed Baltic. Are there more provinces with that culture?
I think it's new! Riga is the only province that starts with it IIRC and it is the primary culture of both Riga and the Livonian Order. The rest of Estonia has the old cultures
Not sure they made this separate culture and still kept it Germanic for some reason. In 1444, the Baltics had a sizable German upper class, but they were definitely not the majority of the population. Would have been more accurate to make Prussian and Balten a culture that is accepted by both Germans and Baltic nations
@@compatriot852 EU4 has a massively simplified culture concept. The Balten culture is literally this class of mostly german traders and their descendants which in the past sometimes made up a very sizable part of Riga's population. Since EU4, different to Victoria, only shows culture in totality it gets the germanic Baltendeutsch culture without any nuance. It's just how the game is. Victoria would show pie charts of the cultural makeup, CK3 would show Balten with a Baltic Heritage but German language I think. EU4's game mechanics just feel so game-y, oversimplified and arcade-y
@@compatriot852 This is represented by Balten being your primary culture, but not actually being present in any of your provinces (except Riga). The rulers get German names because they are Balten, but all the provinces are Livonian and Estonian.
Shame how Paradox put almost all their effort into the crusader states and then completely forgot about Lithuania. The entire reason why they exist in the first place was to conquer the pagan Lithuanians. It's like updating The knights and Cyprus only to forget about the Mamluks
Im begging you AlzaboHD stop making me come to back to eu4. It has already dropped my GPA in college by half a point and I dont want it to cost me my job now.
Really looking forward to the new dlc, almost as much as a new Alzabo vid! So lucky to get 2 in a week that I’m thinking of getting a lottery ticket 😂!
The event chain being bugged hasn't been patched yet. In my game I've tried three separate runs and waited 30 years each time. Never finished the event chain
No the event chain is not bugged. But Paradox put in a hidden requirement for the last event to fire. Your current ruler must be a 3 3 3 and you cannot be at war.
I was shocked I didn't know you played EU4 as well, big fan of your CK3 videos and I've been toying with trying EU4 with the monthly account one can get, I'm sort of waiting for Victoria 3 to decide though 😉
Germans forming a "Prussia" was already ridiculous IRL, but Germans forming a Livonia is even more ridiculous. Prussia at least was inhabited by Prussians that the Germans then mixed with, but "Livonia" is an amalgamation of Latvians, Estonians and a small pocket of actual Livonians and a small minority of Germans. It'd be like a religious order occupying Germany and secularising into "Sorbia".
Thank you for the reload tip for coalitions! Was always wondering why the ai despite having positive relations are still part of the coalition against me lol
The Hanseatic League are not easily occupied. In the clip, your enemies just stayed in the cities and didn't move. In my game they gang up on me and have c.20k troops.

YES! He deserves more subbsss so I suscribe right now :DDD xdd
The “Transfer Subject” ability is so fun in an Austria game I had Norway and Sweden super early
Yes, for Austria it's really good. You want to fight the Danes anyway. Might as well take their subjects. :D

How do you ally Bohemia so early without improving relations? Is it just RNG?
You have mistake in video Livonia can get 14 goverment types. Check once more first event.
Yes please more eu4! Maybe another top 10 nations video with the new update? Another updated video for formables would be great to!

What a coincidence, I just started a game as Riga trying to unite the Baltic region.
Why not occupy Novogrod first before Riga?
I wish they had Curonia as the main formable rather than livonia, ah well
