  • Franklin Joseph "Frankie" Lymon (September 30, 1942[5][6] - February 27, 1968[7]) was an American rock and roll/rhythm and blues singer and songwriter, best known as the boy soprano lead singer of the New York City-based early rock and roll group The Teenagers. The group was composed of five boys, all in their early to mid-teens. The original lineup of the Teenagers, an integrated group, included three African-American members, Frankie Lymon, Jimmy Merchant, and Sherman Garnes; and two Puerto Rican members, Joe Negroni and Herman Santiago. The Teenagers' first single, 1956's "Why Do Fools Fall in Love," was also their biggest hit. After Lymon went solo in mid-1957, both his career and that of the Teenagers fell into decline. He was found dead at the age of 25 on the floor of his grandmother's bathroom from a heroin overdose.[8] His life was dramatized in the 1998 film Why Do Fools Fall In Love. - wikipedia

One thing that people overlook about the Teenagers and Frankie is that they were not trained and formed by professional talent agents and voice therapists. They didn't have choreographers. They did all that themselves. They created the group and the songs by just singing together on street corners and hallways practicing. This is pure talent in raw form.

The Teenagers were one of the early successful adolescent R&B/Vocal groups and inspired NUMEROUS others across the country’s inner-cities.
For young urban people (especially Black Americans), singing or harmonizing on sidewalks, street-corners, in schools, basements, etc. were later generations’ versions of pastimes like rapping, street dancing, video games, doing social media challenges, etc.

In my opinion, this child's singing talent was much better than Michael Jackson as a child.

His demise saddens my heart. The only influence he had around him was those who had mal intent. He was used by the industry and they killed him.

У этого человека был божий дар! Как бесконечно жаль,что этот талантливейший молодой человек не успел показать миру всё богатство своего таланта. Слишком рано ушёл он от нас…

I bet this was Michael Jackson's fathers favorite band. When there were 5 singers together it looked like a early version of the Jackson's 5.
