This funckin' Atomic Dog leaded me here. Greetings from Paris, France (not TX)
Me: "Dad how much of that shit were ya'll smoking back then?"
Dad: ****smiles****
"All of it sucka......"
This ain't no smoke
This isn't smoke. This is acid.
How much acid?? Dad: yes
Lol!
@@xx-bg2dj it was really both substance.
Clinton is so fucking unbelievably cool in this video...the dude just has something about him, an inimitable style, what a legend! What a record too!
2:13 That "The Godfather is now a movie" in the background put that date in perspective for me.
Great video, great song....had me funkin' in my seat!
Still one of my most favorite Funkadelic songs, I remember seeing this on TV when I was 13, I was almost spellbound, it was different, and I loved it.
Lots of legendary artists in this early video. RIP Gary Snider, Fuzzy Haskins.
rip calvin simon
What a great band . If you ain’t groovin when you here these guys you gotta be dead . Bring Back the Funk 👊🏼
This never gets old.
Okey the white guy with the guitar is obviously a guitarist, but what are the rest of their roles? Especially the guy with the white face paint. Tell me their names, especially the white guitarist guy. Its a shame Dwayne Blackbyrd Mcknight's not in the video.
I just discovered the white guy's name, Ron Bykowski. But what guitar parts did he play and did he play any guitar solos??
George Clinton Parliament/Funkadelic played at my little hometown Caloundra music festival here in Australia a few years back and it still blows my mind that he was here, i tried to tell anybody who'd listen to me to go see these legends play, ill never forget it, it was wild.
Been listening ever since , certainly kept me sane this last 40+ years
I grew up in the 90’s which was cool in a lot of ways but I always wished I had been a teenager in the 70’s!! Looks like they had a lot of fun back then. Love Parliament 🙌🏾🙌🏾💯
Ah hear my mother call
I'm one of five born to my mother
An older sister and three young brothers
We've seen it hard, we've seen it kind of rough
But always with a smile, she was sure to try to hide
The fact from us that life was really tough
I can hear my mother call
I can hear my mother call
Late at night I hear her call
Oh lord, lord I hear her call
She said, "Father, father it's for the kids
Any and every thing I did
Please, please don't judge me too strong
Lord knows I meant no wrong
Lord knows I meant no wrong"
Then the devil sang
"Would you like to dance with me? We're doin' the cosmic slop"
She was well known through the ghetto
Tricks would come and then they'd go
The neighbors would talk and call her Jezebel
But always with a smile, she was sure to try to hide
The fact from us that she was catching hell, hey!
Hear my mother call
I can hear my mother call
Late at night I hear her call
Oh lord, lord I hear her call
She says, "Father, father it's for the kids
Any and every thing I did
Please, please don't judge me too strong
Lord knows I meant no wrong
Lord!
She says, "Father, father it's for the kids
Any and every thing I did
Please, please don't judge me too strong
[End Cadences]
lyrics were COLD man... damn
This is NOT slop
Heartbreaking
Poetry for the people✊🏽
The mother and the jezebel are one in the same... Can't be mad at her... 💜
Never gets old!
if Hendrix had only lived a bit longer and been able to get in on some of this stuff...
💞
Thats the heart breaking part. It sounds a lot like Hendrix on Guitar lol
I love soul music and rock music this is a mix. Love it.
Well since black people invented rock music also it makes sense
They used to terrify me as a child!! Thanks RUclips for putting this on my feed to bring that trauma back🤣
One of the baddest jams of all time!
THE TRUTH
Yup. That lead freakin blows the doors off my house...oh and my neighbor’s house, too. Feel like they need some Funk P, too.
WOWWW 😮😮 more than 50 years ago such TALENT 😂😂❤❤❤❤
I’m a metal head, sabbath, Motörhead & maiden!!! I want to say this song is fantastic!!!! Brilliant!!!
Motorhead isn't metal 🎉
Well , they are metal sounding to me & I stand by that! 😊
This takes creepy early 70s music videos to the next level. Looks like something you would’ve seen on Night Flight at 2:30 a.m.
You are a KING for that Night Flight reference!
Night Flight! Best show ever!
Night Flight Legion.
Or night gallery!
i fee like someone with a camera said to funkadelic, hey let's make a music video, and then everyone all together said, "what's a music video" and this is what you get. Perfection.
Lol I could totally see that happening
you could kinda imagine the inspiration to make a band to create brilliant music and make your own aesthetics.
Man, I wish I would have been around in Parliament Funkadelics heyday. Those years must have been something else entirely!! Everyone looked like they were having a hell of a lot more fun than we did lol.
Yup, it was👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This is simultaneously the most terrifying yet spiritually uplifting thing I've ever seen.
that is nothing but a fact!!!
@@damonclark923 Seems like this is something one could only experience in “old” New York.
That's the Funk effect
That's so funny lol
Still cool 50 years later, wow
Wow! Bumping this in my car Now. 50 years ago this was thumpin'! #73baby
Almost 50 years ago they didn’t have shit back then but the music made them
Stars
This is one of my favorite videos of all-time. This is like if Hype Williams went back to the 70’s to film this 😆
This video is way too bright to be Hypes’s vision. If it was filmed at night, then sure.
“The fact from us that life was really tough” 🎶

OH MY GOD l love this song and I never seen this video. Amazing, love the 70's.
Never knew there was a video for this sonic freakout!
Wow ... this sure blows the dust off of those funky brain cells.☺
The Funk...the end💯👍 this is actually a heartbreaking song ...goes over the situation that a lot of blk wmn went through go through in our communities
I find myself coming back to the 70,s a lot these days. Watching a clip like this, i can almost smell and taste the 1970,s. Anything is better than 2023!
This beat is sickkkkk. First time hearing this song and i love it.
I was sober when I started watching this, it's over and i'm high as hell now.
😅LMAO!!
I wish I could tell George Clinton how much i appreciate him.
My Dad is 67 loves Gorge Clinton, he always tells me different stories about their concerts and how the parliament funkadelics always put on the best shows and hearing the stories I believe every word. He said when its his time to go he wants the Funk played at his funeral ❤
George Clinton & Company were light years ahead of this New brand of Funk! 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
A Funkadelic album cover has come to life
i love this song and "video"!
I love everything about this
In 1968, MCI built the first 24 track tape recorder (2" tape). The music of the 70's is deep in the exploration of high count multi-track recordings.
Being born in 1977 in NY , this is the most comforting 💩 ever. It’s soothing.
