My first words (I’m white) were ‘hamad Ali!’ My dad was a huge Muhammad Ali fan. When I was born in 1970, Ali was coming back after his 3 year lay off. By 1973/4 I was starting to talk- my dad decided to teach me the answer to a question- ‘WHO floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee?’ I learned to answer ‘Muhammad Ali!’ But I was too young to pronounce it, so all I could say was ‘Hamad Ali!’ When I was a teenager in 1985 I bought all the videos I could get of Muhammad Ali, and myself and my dad would watch them for HOURS and hours. Now- my dad landed on D Day in France and fought the Germans in Normandy, then up to Holland, Nijmegen Bridge, the Bulge northern shoulder, across into Germany, and down through Germany and was at the liberation of Belsen. He was 50 when I was born- so he was already 65 yr old when I was 15. But my dad lived to 92, we lost him New Year’s Day 2013. I spent QUALITY TIME with my dad always watching boxing, and some of my best memories watching The Greatest heavyweight ever to lace up the gloves. NO ONE COMES CLOSE. 💥🥊

What made Muhammad Ali so special was he had a lot of knowledge and wisdom inside and outside the ring. For example, when Ali and George Foreman fought at Rumble In The Jungle, Ali was like Sun Tzu's "Art of War": he developed strategy against Foreman to win the fight. Outside of the ring, he would tell people, "If somebody views life at 50 the same way they did at 20, then they have wasted 30 years of their life." In other words, the worst kind of time to have in your life is wasted time. Muhammad Ali will always and forever be the G.O.A.T.

We lost in the integration process. The only thing we gained was the ability to spend our money anywhere we want to in a system controlled by people who didn't have our interest in mind.
Damn it’s crazy but it’s true but when you say stuff like that it makes me wonder would people like Dr. King and Malcom X approve of today’s integration
Huh? There’s still racism I know but what? Respect to ali but that’s not true anymore spending our money in a system that doesn’t have our interests in mind like in what way are your interests so much different from the white people ?
They should be and whites should be proud to be white. None of us chose our race, God did and he didn't mess up and make a mistake... White's should be proud that blacks are black and blacks should be proud that whites are whites... A lot of people ain't gonna like when they have to answer to the one that put the dates on the headstone for things they did to others when living in the dash.
If you miss a someone , then it means that that you love that person and that you are a loving person. The person you miss may or may not be a loving person eg A girl loves her brother and misses him when he is not around, the brother however doesn't love or miss his sister....So my question is, who is better ? The one who misses someone or the person who is missed?? You feel ali is great because he will be missed by the whites, so my question is, aren't the whites (who actually would miss ali and black people as a whole)really loving people?? Aren't they ones you should be holding dear?? (Perhaps more so than ali? )......Food for thought...

After his death, I noticed a post on facebook with his poetry that goes "I handcuffed a thunder and put lightning in jail" which made me want to learn more about him. My first words (I’m white) were ‘hamad Ali!’
My dad was a huge Muhammad Ali fan. When I was born in 1970, Ali was coming back after his 3 year lay off. By 1973/4 I was starting to talk- my dad decided to teach me the answer to a question- ‘WHO floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee?’
I learned to answer ‘Muhammad Ali!’
But I was too young to pronounce it, so all I could say was ‘Hamad Ali!’
When I was a teenager in 1985 I bought all the videos I could get of Muhammad Ali, and myself and my dad would watch them for HOURS and hours. 💥🥊
RIGHT ON! I watched his fights to this day. I believe he won his last title around the time I was born. Great Man!

His philosophy is only relevant in that it is what causes the lack of progress that you lament.

@@jacobjorgenson9285 yes there has been some improvement but way too little really in my opinion. As I never said there had been no change or progress but that this is still issues relevant to today. AND THAT'S A FACT.
Ali's confidence was on a 💯. 👏👏👏

That last quote had me in tears 😭 he is incredible to describe himself in such a way that expresses not only his character but the secret formula to being a man of his caliber! Pure admiration for this man!
He wasn’t promoting segregation, he was simply saying don’t expect people to assimilate to a culture or way of life that’s not theirs.
he's saying that he is against integration. That is promoting segregation.
Or that's not genuine
Also most of what he said was BS in real time. Hes sitting in a room full of white guys, laughing, enjoying his company, and integrating just fine.
Yes different cultures will not always be compatible, but to say it’s impossible for people from different cultures to integrate in one society when people have done just that is dumb
