I just completed this job. two things to note: before pulling the wheel hub off at 8:19, remove the ABS sensor attached to the top. You got lucky since its fairly new and the hub came right off for ya due to no rust, but I pulled it and bent the metal "dust shield" that is attached to the other hub side (its just that one 10mm bolt to unscrew). Not fun. Also, put some antisieze on the axle before putting the hub back on. ChrisFix has a great video about this. Secondly, when adjusting the parking brake at 10:22, I messed with it while it was out and I could not feel which way tightens the parking brake. Pushing UP (clockwise) will tighten the parking brake, and pushing DOWN loosens the brake adjuster. that aside, great video. Please upvote so others can see. EDIT: I also did steel brake lines while adding my brembos. Couple of pointers: you need a flare wrench to unscrew the flare nut. *DO NOT* attempt to do this job without one. Use a pipe to push your brake pedal down and latch it between the seat. That way, you wont have brake fluid leaking everywhere once you unscrew the flare nut.
Good job and cheers from Germany 🇩🇪 I appreciate your in depth explanation. For working on hoses I recommend hose clamps that minimize dripping. You earned yourself a new subscriber. Ordered my GR86 for next year. This years contingent is sold out here.
Wow! Congratulations on your order. You’ll love it! Thanks for the advice. It’s funny because I had hose clamps but I never thought about using them on the brake hoses. 🤷🏽♂️ Thanks for the watching and the subscription!
Pro tip for next time. Get a two by four or some sort of stick, open up one of the break bleeder's and then press the brake pedal to the floor and hold it there by wedging it in place to the seat. It's a long answer, but just clean the lines to remove all the dot5.1 and put a dot 4. Your break pump is optimized for dot4, which is usually better than 5.1 btw.... Another topic not related to dot, even if you use a 3, 4, or 5.1, never use a racing liquid if you wanna keep your calipers healthy. Ferodo super formula works fine

Man clean the lines very very carefully and put a good dot4
Hmm.. Can I get more feedback on this? Would you say you have had better experience with DOT 4?
It's a long answer, but just clean the lines to remove all the dot5.1 and put a dot 4. Your break pump is optimized for dot4, which is usually better than 5.1 btw....
Another topic not related to dot, even if you use a 3, 4, or 5.1, never use a racing liquid if you wanna keep your calipers healthy.
Ferodo super formula works fine
Thanks for the tip! It's coming around to the time to change the fluid so I'll try the DOT 4 this time around.
Oh clearly that can not be bolted well 3:36.
Thanks! I tightened it after I used the gun. Just cut that portion out.
@@Catalyst4k Okey tea pot.
Well you clearly watch my handle… Want the spout next?
@@Catalyst4k They would bring the bearing after next six months.
its an overkill. I would get a 4 piston caliper for this car.
Brambo is too heavy
So is ya mom
WHY didn't you replace brake lines??? It's insane having Brembo calipers with old/original brake lines 😞
Good point. Guess it's an excuse to make a future video ;)
@@Catalyst4k Hi. One year has passed since you made this video. Thank you. Are you still on the base Gen 2 brake hoses? Just curious if there are any issues or do we need to swap to PP Brembo brake hoses.
@macuser27 Hey! Thanks for watching. 1 year later, no problem with the hoses 👍🏽
How many STI bolts do I need ? For front and rear ?
4 bolts for the front ones. You need diffrent ones for the rears.
@@Catalyst4k really what's part number?
901000326. You'll need 4 of them.
@@Catalyst4k thx bro
