  • These are some of my favorite scenes with Ed and Alara or Alara talking about Ed because it's super totally obvious she has a crush on him and keeps trying to get information from Kelly. I own nothing I just really like this show and ship Ed Mercer and Alara Kitan too hard.

Not gonna lie, I'm really glad they gave Alara eyebrows after the first episode. She looks so much better with them.

The best thing about Ed and Alara's relationship (calm down, shippers) is just how much they respect each other. To Ed, Alara is a damn good security officer and that's it. He doesn't care about her gender or species, he just values her as a person and a member of his crew. God, Alara needs to come back for season 3

This show man... it really showcases just how talented Seth MacFarlane is. He knows how to act, write, sing, improvise, do impressions, and how to pick a phenomenal cast of people who know exactly what their job is. Despite how people feel about Family Guy, American Dad, etc... he really is an amazing performer.

She crushes on him like a best friend's little sister might. I bet he can tell that too. He probably sees that what she needed to thirive was a nearly parental support. She was beyond capable and needed someone she respected and trusted so much to show unwavering and justified confidence in her so that she could develop confidence in herself. They could've been a great couple, but if anything went wrong she'd be doubting herself all over again. It wasn't only the right professional decision to not pursue that , but the morally right and unselfish one as someone who did care for her......imo

After knowing about her family issues later. I realise that why she gets very happy for everything someone gives her appreciation.

Alara's "coming of age" storyline was the best damn thing about this show.
