I heard on the radio that the show was on the chopping block to not renew due to low ratings, and I was thinking the show is to family friendly and wholesome to appeal to modern audiences which prefers superficial fake reality tv shows and dark themes.

I cant wait for season 3! Its a fantastic show, it really is a gem. Hidalgo and Co have ruined Star Wars and dont get me started on Star Trek Discovery, it certainly has all the intellect and charm of a nasty STD! The Orville is superior to STD in every way
The Orville made me realize that I was a Trekie my whole life, while waiting for season 3, I decided to start watching Star Trek and oh boy, what a treat was that. I can say, that for me, the Orville is a true continuation of Star Trek
you know, as a person that watched next gen as it aired when he was a kid, i gotta say, while you clearly are your own thing, you still do star trek proud. love you guys.
It is thus only because Seth is a true, die-hard fan of Trek, and knows what his fellow fans really want in a space adventure show, as opposed to the crap that the avowed non-fans Abrams, Kurtzman and Goldsman have been giving us the last few years.
Well one note they need to learn is not to restrict shows to All-Access. The Orville creators saw this mistake, by CBS, and decided not to do it...thankfully.
@@StacieMMeier I would honestly pay for the Orville if it were reversed. STD is only about cashing in and taking advantage of the Trek name. TINO. Trek in name only. This level of form-without-substance doesn't deserve to be rewarded. STD had potential, but they underestimated the intelligence of the Trek fan greatly.

I'm not much of a TV person, definitely not a sci-fi person, and yet I absolutely love this show!! It's simply unique; fantastic characters portrayed by a fantastic cast, interesting story lines. It's hilarious, it's dramatic, and a lot of times a subtle message of how far good morals can take you. Really looking forward to Season 3!!
As an actor myself, I can attest that a lot of us actors are often this silly, and whenever I see blooper reels since becoming an actor, the cause of my laughter is a mixture of the funniness of the bloopers as well as a sort of "I know how it goes" sentiment.
I know this is funny and all, but I’ve gotta give props to Victor Garber( Admiral Halsey) and the lady on his left for maintaining character! Even the Admiral on his right is smirking a little!!
Even dick jokes in The Orville are much better, than in current GoT :( Writers of GoT should be allowed for writing only the lines for zombies, for what they done with this show without Martin's books.

On the other hand, thank Odin for shows like the Orville to lessen the blow, and I even managed to get some of my mates hooked on the series as well and am looking forward for season 3.

The way this show deals with current issues is amazing. The writing is not in your face and the story makes you forget that the issues is real until the end and your brain says "hey you just learned something".
