Congratulations on your move and new car !!!! If you live in Texas, a car is absolutely necessary. Most Texans prefer their big ass trucks but with a SUV, you will blend in beautifully. From a fellow legal immigrant, Welcome to USA !!!! It's not always rosy but in my opinion it's better than most places !!!!!
An additional note on having leather seats in Texas yes get car seat covers or if you want to wait and the sun is out and strong bring you a towel so if you want to wear shorts you don't burn a hole in your legs.
When i lived in Arlington, Texas, and my son was 3-4 years old, my krogers had an attended children's play room!!! They only had it a couple of years, maybe leass, but it was amazing. The little one played on computers, read books, watched cartoons, and did art projects. I was a Stay at home mom, so it was a break for me, and my little son got to socialize with other kids. I would drop him off. We each got a numbered bracelet. If they needed me, they would announce our bracelet number. Thankfully, that never happened. Also, after i checked out at the register, the young man that sacked my groceries pushed my cart so i could get my son, then while i put my son in the car, the young man loaded my groceries. Needless to say, I NEVER went to any other grocery store!!! That took all the stress out of grocery shopping!!!
God Bless America. Greatest and most beautiful/diverse country on earth (and stats are there to prove it) I will love to one day live there (maybe soon). Greetings from Dominican Republic
It’s a ish hole country that murder their own citizens because the color of their skin . They rob black people with banks buy losing their money and say , we lost it nothing we ca do about it .
The Explorer is beautiful! I bet tiny Tasha looks adorable driving it! I am so happy that y'all are settling in so well. Kroger's is ok, but HEB is where to go. Texan family owned. Hope y'all stay warm this weekend !!!
We had a Ford Explorer for years and really liked it. A word of caution from the wife of a former deputy sheriff-law enforcement officers keep their eyes out for red cars and trucks because the drivers tend to speed more!
Love your new SUV but know that "red" vehicles are the first ones a cop will stop. Not sure why, maybe red pisses them off, LOL, but none the less, drive careful at all times.
Wow..already got a suv so make sure to stop by a Buc-ees for gas. HEB is the Texas grocery store but We prefer Randalls here in Austin. Stay off the roads when its cold as most people have no idea how to drive if there is even the slightest amount of ice on an overpass. It's also a good chance to just hang out at home. It'll be warm soon enough here.
Greetings from Major Dick Winters hometown, Ephrata, (Lancaster County) PA. Although he is linked to his farm in Hershey, he was born and raised here and is buried 3 miles from home here at Bergstrasse Lutheran Church. There are two sculptures devoted to him. One is behind Omaha Beach in Normandy, the other is here within line of sight of his boyhood home.
I drove a Ford Explorer for years - loved it! Good for you! Ya, it will take time, but can I suggest that maybe someone in England just for your records print out your driving history (if you all do that)...it might help after you get licensed in Texas... Welcome to America and debt! LOL I shop Kroger's all the time!!
Congratulations on the 🚗! Go to HEB they're awesome Grocery store. You don't like the weather in Texas you always come up to Michigan. We are currently getting dumped on and they're saying anywhere. From 12 to 18 nches of snow on top of the 12 inches, we already have
@@libertybell8852 coming to Clare County Michigan have 12 inches on ground getting Dumped on for another 15 to 19 inches now. Wind chill is to be -20 by morning
Congrats! Nice ride! I drive a 2022 Volkswagon Atlas, which is in the same size class as the Explorer (mid-sized in the US.) I bought it new. I pay about $132 / month insurance thru State Farm with full coverage as it's finanaced.
I can almost guarantee why insurance is more expensive here than the UK. In the UK, you don't travel (by car) as much! Here, you'll be using the car for everything. My recommendation is to call a broker because a broker can immediately recommend the best company from among dozens based on your profile, quality of the company, price, etc.
I was a little late to Band of Brothers, but I finally saw it on History channel in 2002 and purchased the DVD set. Watched it many times and love watching RUclips reaction videos to it, especially Why We Fight and Points.
Congrats on the car... it is pretty. You might consider making an Amazon wish list in case anyone wants to give you a house warming or wedding gift... just a thought. Now you are in the USA it would be easy to do.
Mikey and Tasha, I'm happy for you both on getting your car! Congratulations on the Ford Explorer - it doesn't get more American than that. Also, Geico is a great insurance company. I was in an accident recently where I got rear-ended, resulting in a total loss. The police were at the scene and I was on the phone with Geico. By the time the police report was taken care of, (mind you there were four cars involved) the towing company that Geico sent took me to pick up the rental car they had arranged for me to return home. Geico took care of everything for me, and while it might be a little expensive, it's definitely worth it.
Congrats. Happy for you. Insurance varies greatly by location. I am on long island a NYC suburb and have an almost identical vehicle, 2020 Buick enclave, my insurance with Geico is 1200 for six months and that's with over 30 years good driver experience. BTW, not sure if it's an urban myth but they say red cars are the most expensive to insure. Really enjoy your videos and happy for your move.
Not a myth. Or wasn't a myth 5 years ago anyway. My brother was selling insurance and red cars were higher on insurance. They "say" that for whatever reason red cars are more likely to be distracting to other drivers and based on statistics they are in more accidents supposedly. I'd personally think white/silver cars would be more dangerous because sometimes you don't notice them at a distance, but maybe that's just me.
Congratulations on your beautiful purchase!!😊 You definitely have plans for your life!! I know you love America, I do too! However protect yourself and make sure you LOCK that beautiful new purchase up!!
I had a 2004 Ford Explorer. It was my favorite vehicle ive ever owned. I miss it soooo much. I have a Jeep now. I love it too, but the Explorer was the best!!!
Yeah buying a vehicle here does take a few days, generally you would start at the dealership, find the car you want, talk to a sales person, then to the bank talk to a teller and get your loan, talk to insurance, go back the dealership with the loan info and insurance, the dealership will then process the sale and get you the registration and plates, also the dealership will talk to your insurance and bank, when that's all said and done, you'll have your keys. But the very first thing, is to get your drivers license squared away. Happy driving! Oh and American made, usually it's not, some parts made in the USA others from Canada and still other parts from Mexico, it may be assembled here in the states.
That's really a much more practical vehicle for you than an open-bed pickup truck. SUVs are the best for one-car families and that's a pretty one. It lacks only one thing: I don't think it merits "Texas Truck" license plates which loses you macho points.
I've Already watched BoB again in the last 3 months, so Pacific is next in a month or so and then the yearly cycle begins again with, hopefully, Masters of the Air being added. As a USAF brat and vet I'm so excited for Masters. That's a very nice automobile. Buying a new car is so stressful. Personally, I would never buy a Fix Or Repair Daily car but we all have our preferences. :P
Your rear seats probably fold down so you can haul stuff. I have an old 2006 Explorer and the rear seats fold down so I can load anything up to about 6 feet or more long.
Glad your starting your American journey.Start charging yourself a car repair fund so when something happens it doesn't seem like a shock.Ford has a couple of acronyms F.ixed Or Repaired Daily.Found On Road Dead Make extra payments so you can be debt free faster.Finance charges means they win.Compounding interest means you win.BTW red cars get pulled over more often too.Are you going to add some Texas longhorns to the front of it?.
I bought car insurance in another county than the county I live in!!! It was much cheaper. Honestly, the cost really can vary. You are brand new to the States, your first car purchase here. You are very young/male. You will be commuting into Houston. You don't have a multi-line policy. (Insuring more than one item, like a house, boat, car, etc). Example: I'm a US citizen, 'middle aged' (😂) own my house, own my car... both of which are insured through the same insurance provider. So I get a multi-line discount. No accidents or tickets. I live in a rural area and have no commute (I work in my town). So my insurance is pretty cheap. Although, I believe insurance is basically a scam!!! Pay on it month after month, decade after decade...never use it.
As for as a new car goes suv,s are nice but why you see a lot of trucks is because they drive just as good as a car and they give you extra space for hauling things drive a truck and you will find out and you will feel safer in a truck. small cars and SUVs are considered yuppies that only drives around the city and don’t have a life outside their office work , a truck gives you freedom and security.
I have 2 cars with a liability $100,000/300,000 no deductible for comprehensive and collision $250.00 deductible per month I paid $327.76 on Dec. 17, 2023
Wait a week before getting too excited, make sure they don’t call you to take it back. Happens all the time, once the bank realizes mistakes they come back for the car
@MikeysAmericanDream Love it. You've got to have a truck if you live in Texas. Congratulations to both of you, I'm really happy to have you here. After that, you need a 9mm and an AR 15. I picked up a glock 19 and a Daniel Defense DDM4V7PRO a couple of months ago. You'll have fun shopping for and practicing with them.
Wow, you went BIG, but you know what they say: "Everything is bigger in Texas." Congratulations!
Congratulations on your move and new car !!!! If you live in Texas, a car is absolutely necessary. Most Texans prefer their big ass trucks but with a SUV, you will blend in beautifully. Congrats!! So excited for the two of you! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
An additional note on having leather seats in Texas yes get car seat covers or if you want to wait and the sun is out and strong bring you a towel so if you want to wear shorts you don't burn a hole in your legs.
I'm in Virginia and the summer heat is why both my trucks have cloth seats. Wasn't an option in 65, so the Galaxie has nagahyde.
Welcome to the USA !! 🇺🇸
❤Congratulations 🎉 Guy’s for making the HUGE leap to America 🇺🇸 and you picked a great state of Texas 🎉
Congrats on making it to America, you're more patriotic than half the country and it's definitely rejuvenating.

Congrats on your move . America is proud to have you ❤️
I hope you remain happy with your decision to move here. Welcome to the US.
Awesome news. Living the dream!
Congrats on the car. Very nice! Love that metallic red color.
Longhorns mounted on hood. Cowboy hats and boots. Happy for you guys 🇺🇸💪❤
Well y'all are getting Americanized at record speed with your big-assed SUV!! Good for you two🎉🇺🇸
The Explorer is beautiful! I bet tiny Tasha looks adorable driving it! I am so happy that y'all are settling in so well. Kroger's is ok, but HEB is where to go. Texan family owned. Hope y'all stay warm this weekend !!!

This is what I have always heard about red cars too.
We also had a red Ford Explorer for several years, I loved it.
Good for you guys
Love your new SUV but know that "red" vehicles are the first ones a cop will stop. Not sure why, maybe red pisses them off, LOL, but none the less, drive careful at all times.

Congratulations 🎊
That's a good choice of SUV for here in Texas.
If you love "Band of Brothers", remember in 2 weeks "Masters of the Air" is coming.
Congrats! Nice ride! I drive a 2022 Volkswagon Atlas, which is in the same size class as the Explorer (mid-sized in the US.) I bought it new. I pay about $132 / month insurance thru State Farm with full coverage as it's finanaced.

They also no credit score, so after six months of car payments they’ll be able to find lower rates.
Couldn't be more happy for you!!!!
Congratulations! Beautiful car! I’m a big Band of Brothers fan too. Maybe you can do a live watch along with subscribers?
Don't forget "Masters of the Air" coming in 2 weeks (not sure I can say which streaming service here).
Congrats. Glad to see yall being able to get things taken care of. Welcome again ❤
I was a little late to Band of Brothers, but I finally saw it on History channel in 2002 and purchased the DVD set. Watched it many times and love watching RUclips reaction videos to it, especially Why We Fight and Points.

Sign up for the Kroger’s discount card. To save you money
Very nice vehicle! H‑E‑B is the grocery store for Texas while Kroger is a national chain. They are both good but H‑E‑B just has that Texas pride.
Kroger is about half the country.
My brother is a retired LE and now works for HEB. He loves working there.

I had a 2004 Ford Explorer. It was my favorite vehicle ive ever owned. I miss it soooo much. I have a Jeep now. I love it too, but the Explorer was the best!!!
Congratulations on the new car. Unfortunately you will regret the leather seats in the summer.
They can always put seat covers over it.
Black too.
Not at all. AC works for me. Easy to clean no stains!

The make of the car and how new it is will determine what you will pay for insurance.
I used to have a Explorer. The driving is brilliant on that jeep. Congrats. Let me know when you need to borrow the trailer home. It tows beautifully🙏
