The actual cloth of the umbrella should be a thin metal plating, so when you open it, it forms a shield
Thin metal probably wouldn't work as well as kevlar.

Some criticism on the tests:
You should've tested the ball handle on more of the destroyable items.
You also should've compared it to just a normal umbrella
