Joseph Hoffman I didn’t say anything about the helmet from the video. That’s a piece of a junk. I was referring to actual knights. War hammers were mostly used against armored enemies cause of their ability to pierce armor. With a proper technique and enough force the spike goes through the toughest of armors. Not to mention the bludgeoning part which has a shape tike that to cave in helmets and instead of spreading the force through the flat surface it has 4 smaller points for more damage. I am into medieval combat (not practicing but I love to watch different videos about medieval weapons, read books, etc) for quite some time now, so of course I know that this helmet is nothing more than a replica. But Tyler is not a fighter either so...
The spikes may not got all the way through the helmet, but the impact of the swing-

As soon as you stood behind the mannequin with the spiked war club and showed it swinging up to his nether regions, I have never been so worried for you thinking the slightest of a second guess if a swing and you miss the dummy and the spike comes straight up to your face...and Tylertube officially ends. For a brief second, your life flashed in front of my eyes. :-) Stay Safe. By the way, I added BOTH of these weapons to my arsenal. I love Cold Steel as a blade company. They make many quality blades as well as entry level type of items. I never saw this before. So thank you!
Hey TylerTube, Helmets and Armor from the mid-evil and earlier periods weren't designed to take a hit from a blunt object. They protected you from sword and arrow attacks. People got past the armor by using blunt objects or blunt objects with spikes. Also, the armor back then was thicker than what you used.
