@@peters7413 a classic
I haven’t seen every video from him but I’ve seen a good chunk of them and I have to agree. That’s one of the best things I’ve seen

One thing I’ve realized about these Survival Multitool type products is that it really doesn’t matter if they’re functional or not. 99/100 times the person buying it is a prepper-type whose gonna throw it in a concrete basement and never use it or someone whose just gonna throw it under a car seat and leave it there. People who are actually going out into situations where they know they’ll need survival tools will get tools they know they can rely on, which usually means they do one thing particularly well instead of being all around survival tools,
I get gifted a metric crap-ton of these kind of tools by family. Hell, everything he has in this video, I've been given. And yeah, I don't even bother reviewing them and they do just sit and gather dust...

@@englishatheart Who = who cares
I’m not a survivalist but a tent camper. Anyone that’s experienced camper knows that too, I must say that the one tool that can successfully do lots of things is a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife ( the original). But is obvious that you’re not chopping a block of wood with it, that being said you never know when you’ll be in the middle of the Sahara, dying of thirst, finding that one bottle of wine that you desperately need to open and chug before you die but you carried your trusty Swiss Army Knife and now you can die happy and drunk.
Well first survival thing to know is anything that contains alcohol will dehydrate you. Your body needs water. In a survival situation drink water and or Gatorade etc, not booze, wine , sodas or too much caffine😁
It was the tiny hatchet cutter hammer falling apart for me. Maybe best test ever.
Just pure comedy
I had a autistic attack well reading this
You know its serious when he breaks out the sharpness tester
Yep
I mean it's the only proper way to test how sharp a blade is. Not sure not that means it's serious.
@@ThePrufessa it was a joke lmao
I took it personal - Michael Jordan - Tylertube
well actually a dull knife or blade is actually more dangerous because when using it you have to apply more force making the cut deeper but i do love a sharp knife or blade myself
I totally expected that dull axe to split wood well, because the two most important factors for splitting wood are the angle and mass of the blade.
He's a limp wristed cuck that's why
It appears that on the final swing with the axe machete thing, you struck the concrete which is what did the rest of the damage to the blade. Good video :)

Forest doesn't have to worry about this hatchet.
9:18 - OW Tyler, why'd you chuck that fire log wannabe at me
Not going to lie watching the 16 in one tool just fall apart was the highlight of this video I couldn't stop laughing
22:00 the nail puller for that tool is limited to the length of nail due to the tool’s lack in diameter. The hammer used after to pull the larger nail out has a longer head which when rolled, creates a larger diameter and can achieve the height needed to fully extract the nail.
So in short, the tool works great for what it is made for. But you can’t go past it’s capabilities and expect great results.
U basically said what he said but with extra words

"If you were a cannibal, you could stab somebody, and then you could eat them!" - Tyler 2021. Hahaha
Would the spike help kill an animal? Stab plants to eat so you didn't have to bend over so often? Gather litter that might turn out to be useful for survival?

The tiny hammer would be good for breaking nuts I guess. But then, that was the tool that vaporized after a couple uses wasn't it? 🤣
That tiny hammer thing just had me dying from laughing it was worth putting into the video just for the laugh. 😂😂
When you pulled out the small axe multi tool I was like wait I have that thing. It is a piece of trash
So, when splitting you want a dull edge rather than extremely sharp. Where you want the razor sharp ax head is for chopping. From a former woodsman competitor. Love your videos.
Axe dented because it is 1st of not properly heat treated.
2nd it is the same metal all throughout thats why it is nediocre at best
3rd the axe has bad edge geometry.
4th the axe is not as thick as it shoud be to make it durable. It is a little thicker then the machete, that is bad for structural integrety of the axe.
Also you didn't cut the waterbottle properly because your edge allignment was off... not it's fault.
You should try to cut from right shoulder to left knee it is way more easy for edge allignment (basic overhead HEMA strike)
It is really easy to get this basic done and you can clearly rate the product and not the edge allignment. Also try the cutting test a couple times and make sure it's nut user error. That would be really nice. The cut from shoulder would also be better with your limitid space. It is easier to stop and it water would not squirt to the camera also.
also he bashed the axe off the cement floor and fucking wrecked it XD
That multi tool hatchet hammer thing has to be the best part of the video 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’ve had a few different brands of pocket chainsaw. The handles are the first thing to go. The flat metal eventually cuts through it. I replaced my handles with thick nylon webbing and stitched it redundantly. Been using that one for a while now. The teeth need sharpened every now and then but there’s not many of them anyway.
I have that ultimate survival tool in my car. I love it. I removed the saw blade and wrapped the handle with paracord for more grip/comfort and to use as cordage if needed.
when taking out long nails you're supposed to put a wooded wedge under ur hammer so u have more leverage and u don't ruin ur work piece
Levers - a basic concept Tyler has yet to discover. Maybe if he read a book ;D
Trying to explain that to someone who doesn't know the difference between a metal saw and a wood saw.
i was Yelling at the skreen "get a wood block" the inter time
you dont want an axe or hatchet head to be over sharpened, it makes them weak.
It's the weight of the blade that matters
@@thakyou5005 especially with axes, you want a borderline dull blade that's heavy
Context for anyone that doesn't know. The weight of an axe causes the blade to bend and ship easily if it is thin. So a thicker, duller blade will make your axe last longer especially since it will most likely be used on wood. If you didn't have to worry about blade damage you could have a sharp axe that would work great.
You don't want it dull, you just need it sharpened at a wider angle.
I’ve gotta disagree. Unless it’s a splitting maul. But I never really call splitting mauls “axes”.
I used to do a decent amount of tree felling with an axe just to do some old school building stuff. Sharpening my axe was ALWAYS worth it, chopped better, chopped more true, lot fewer “bounces”, was just overall a better experience every single time.
I would get my axes as sharp as possible every winter before I went out to do things.
The LOOK on your face when that lil multi tool thing self destructed was GOLD. I love your videos. Keep up the good work!!
Definitely impressed with the pocket chainsaw. Might pick up one for a bugout bag.
Police still after you?
As a blacksmith I think that reason the axe on the machete got destroyed was they tried to make the axe softer in the back to absorb shock but by doing that they did it poorly and didn’t get the blade hard
The "matchete" as I call it is the dumbest idea I have ever heard of. Who ever thought it was a good idea to put a blade on your blade isn't that sharp (if you know what I mean) 😏
The odd stepped cut out that was present in a couple of these is a "wrench" like tool
Nothing like a fresh wound to tend to from a tool with negligent design. That'll totally help in any SURVIVAL situation!
wtf? I was not expecting the machete axe thing to be sharp at all. Even decent brands have a hard time sharpening large blades and machetes. The fact that they actually got an edge on that monstrosity is honestly pretty impressive.
For the love of god wear safety goggles. You’re gonna catch an axe shard in the eye
This is funny and not funny at the same time
Real men don't do saftey. Jk i like having my eyeballs inside my eye sockets
Safety is not #1 priority.
These are cheap pot metal tools with no hardness so they don't tend to chip they just roll over... Although I do see your point!
“Slicing things with water bottles” 😂 LOL I love love love your channel. You are so unpredictable and every video is awesome!! #NOPICKLESFORPEOPLE
Couple things to note, you don't want a thin axe as it needs the wedge shape to split the wood and, second, you don't want it razor sharp for the same reason you don't want your lawn mower blade to be a razor either. At that high of a force razors don't last and bend quickly. It's no surprise the machete part did better than the axe and I do agree with you that the tool is trying to be too many things. The point of the machete having a thicker curve towards the front is to act as a pseudo axe. Because it has the handle on the front the machete part it could function as a good Draw Knife but early in the game you'd have no need for something like that as it's required that you build other pieces of equipment so you can hold a piece of wood down so you could apply a draw knife to it. Overall, nice vid!
If I took a solid guess as to why that crazy axe saw and machete didn't cut smoothly through the water bottle I would say it's because of the paracord handle section for the axe. It looked like you hit it right at that location.
I always need to hang a picture in the woods when I'm camping
A picture of a forest, yes?
38 min i like gives me something to watch for a while
Same with me. I mostly watch videos on RUclips for entertainment, so the longer they are, the less time I have to spend looking for another video to watch. The videos that are reviews or educational for something that I seriously want to learn about, I prefer them to be as long and information filled as possible for the same reason. If I find a review video with something I'm looking at buying, if the person just says "it's good", I consider that an almost completely useless video.
That machete/axe/saw thingy is a darn Darwin award waiting to happen. When using it as an axe, you are swinging the pointy part of the mahcete towards you. One missed swing and you hit yourself in a thigh with a machete.
"Take the saw and throw it in the river somewhere" - Tyler
😶 Not the f'n New River plz.
Perfect timing, was just about to finish my survival bag.
Some of these worked amazingly! Will def look into them when I have the funds to get survival tools! Thanks for the video Tyler!
That sawchetetchet foolishness, you're a brave man testing that. I'm honestly blown away that it didn't snap in half. Those stamped stainless turds love to break.
This is the channel i go to when i want to witness "Normal Machete Things"
I can see shadversity showing up to explain the omniblade like "👓🚙 well let me explain "
Let me tell you why this thing is bloody shtoopid
cutting waterbottle in half smoothly requires edge alignment and you missed edge quite a lot 3:50
22:15 You can add a wood block under the axe and pull that nail out
The axe doesn't work to split wood cuz there is zero wedge to actually cause the split. Plus no weight to help and then the weak metal didn't help lol
"Before I was rudely interrupted by my own stupidly..."
That's easily the best quote that's come out if this channel
2:27 at least you know it's sharp
I really, really, appreciate the irony of someone with a heavy beard pushing groinal trimmers.
9:03 You should try following: when the wood is stuck on axe like that, lift the wood and axe, while in the air, turn it the other way round (so that the wood is up and dull part of axe is facing downwards), swing it and hit it against some other wood or stump which is standing on the ground. The force should be enough to split the wood. Of course, when trying to chop planks, it might be less effective...
Concerned about the saw in the handle, and yet is using a hand chainsaw inches from wearing rubber sandals on sock covered feet? Let's say "Safety is job 4!"
this channel never seems to disappoint. the best videos every upload
Hey Tyler look in to getting a solid work bench to help with stability while making videos likes these . Love your content
I can't get over his "gang gang" slides shoes 😂
@8:20 it would been awesome if you had a fake hand with red liquid in the fingers, then chopped the fingers off while holding the wood and acting like you're in pain haha.
“I’m gonna do normal machete things”
*proceeds to chop 2x4 like an axe*
That one with the folding saw blade would be hell for left handed users.
that 2nd hatcher/hammer is a great camping axe, the saw is more of a small limb saw than a construction saw if you put the proper blade in it, mine hasnt failed in 2 years of nearly every weekend use.

Axe doesn't have enough material to actually be a structurally viable axe.
The axe was bent up because he hit it against the concrete when it came out

the axe doesn’t feel right because you’re almost stabbing yourself every time you use it
It's actually more dangerous to the user than anything you might be using it on.

I'm imagining the pocket chainsaw as the most brutal self defense weapon ever, just throw it around someone and there's a chainsaw wrapped around em
Avoid the axe handle wrapping on the bottle slice and it would be smoother.
He could break an anvil with a feather 😂😂😂😂😂
It’s entertaining watching how crap some items are
The pocket chain saw is great for being on a road and a tree has fallen onto the road, you can cut enough to get around it.
The nail puller on any hammer sometimes needs a block under it for leverage. No worries.
I have that hand chainsaw. I really liked the coil saw style that you unwind and use the same way, the ones that look like miniature barbed wire. Those go through wet or dry wood like butter. But they kink and break very quickly. You have to get a stiff branch and make a bow saw for those to last. And then they don't work as well. The chain saw will not work that way, fyi, no bow saw potential there. And you must keep oil with it or it will bind up in the joints and likely kink. So you need spare replacement links, too. But unlike those coil saws, you can resharpen the chains, and fix them if they kink. It's great camping or backpacking. And with both handles in one hand, I suspect it would be decent self-defence as well.
And I don't always mind if blades or axes don't come sharpened from the factory. Sometimes you can find real gems that are manufactured roughly and only need a good finishing edge. If the steel is good, and the edge has the initial contours, I can do the rest and still feel totally satisfied saving a buck.
“Let’s do normal machete things”... begins chopping into a 4*4
I don't need Manscaped anything. My manly, musty, swamp ass scent gets me enough attention.
Ummm, yuck!!!!
The last axe over time is pretty good, but it does cone loose after about a week of daily heavy-duty use.
He should review liquid gas stove such as the Colman single burner gasoline stove, the original Colman white gas stove, and the msr whisper light international that runs on almost anything. Then see who comes out on top.
I just love those Coleman white gas ones, I have a 2 burner and a single burner, very economical on fuel and easy to simmer. They’re built like a tank too, there’s a reason there are some really old ones still working and being sold in EBay. I car/tent camp so weight is not really an issue.
That squeaking noise from the saw omg, that's worse than nails on chalkboard to me! Great video besides that! :D
ikr. I think it's the first time I actually feel awful from it being recorded xD
Hearing him say “ball” doesn’t sound right 😂. Like I’m not saying I am grossed out or it’s bad or anything but I’m just not used to hearing him say stuff like that
you could also grab both handles on the manchette axe saw and saw a smaller tree towards you and it might work better.
You should consider investing in a high speed camera !

That’s not an “axe” it’s a tomahawk. They’re made more for combat and throwing not for chopping like a regular axe or hatchet that’s why it feels weird and doesn’t chop great.
Just in case I get beat down for being a nit picker the big difference is the lack of a check to force the wood apart and the butt of it has no weight. The grinds also more flat ground instead of convex so the edge won’t hold up like an axe would it’s more of a scalpel edge. It’s like using a throwing knife for whittling, yeah it’ll work but not that great lol
