@@jmnasiopulos What? The AS has been hugely successful. When the Tele launched at Winter NAMM 2019, Fender received more orders on day one of the show than they expected to get at global retail in the first YEAR on sale. Andertons said last year that it's been the most successful new model launch they've seen in 20 years, and they sell them in large numbers. Casino Guitars in the US posted a video in which they said it's been hugely popular too. Other vendors have said the same. Hence why Fender added another version each year since it was originally launched.
They're in stock because Fender have increased production after trebling capacity on a dedicated AS manufacturing facility in the Corona factory in order to meet demand.
Never mind, eh? Not hard to do maths, but hard to deal with facts over made up crap.

Neck dive standing with a strap is quite different than while playing seated w/o any strap. The Jazzmaster and Strat both have ok balance while played standing due to the front strap button’s position being closer to the guitars tuners.

Thank you for this, gentlemen! Marvelous playing and demos. I brought a Jazzmaster home for two weeks. Tried everything I could think of - Tone Bone preamp, delays, reverbs, 10 band EQ, all played through my usual amps - 2 Fender Acoustasonic 90 watts. I compared it to my Brazilian Morgan OM - (hand built in Vancouver), with a Stage Pro system in it. Also to a much cheaper Seagull Maritime with solid back and sides. ...To say that the settings represent the various guitars that Fender is trying to emulate is like saying oatmeal tastes like chocolate cake. The settings definitely sound "like" acoustic guitars, but they are boxy, muted, and uninspiring guitars. I plugged into real live amps and pedals without the benefit of computer interface/effects. Your sound is great, but take this Jazzmaster outside to a live solo gig, and it sounds like an economy acoustic with a piezo to me. I wanted so badly for it to work for me, and I really enjoyed the humbucker, but it simply can't touch a real acoustic. To me, the Jazzmaster is the "least best" of the three that you demo. I am thinking I might try the Tele, like many others here.
4 days later - spent quite a bit of time with the Tele vs two different Jazzmasters (Yes, they sounded different, but similar). The Tele feels and plays better for me. I think it's simpler (just like a Tele) and doesn't aspire to as much, but it sounds more like an acoustic to me. I can hear the Jazzmaster boxy sound even in this video. It's always there, to my ear.

I don't want to take any of the above but I'm happy just to take the Tele Acoustasonic. It isn't as good as any of the above but its ok. One minute we're playing some Everlys stuff, then a bit of Folk, and then Sweet Home stuff. This thing does just about everything at the flick of a switch.

After watching tons of Acoustasonic videos (including this one) and playing all three, I decided to go with the Jazzmaster, even though I was heavily predisposed toward the Tele at the get go since my electric is a Tele. The primary reason I liked the Jazzmaster was the larger tonal range from acoustic to electric clean to high gain. I like having the higher gain option for rock songs at open mics and solo shows. Also, to my ears the Jazzmaster has a fuller and less tinny sound, perhaps due to the larger soundboard.

saweet! I will say if you're writing ( literally using pencil and paper -- songwriting) and especially if you write left handed, (I play the guitar the "normal" way...left hand on the neck) the fact the tele doesn't spin off to the left is great! It's always been a peeve of mine I'm dinging up my guitar when I'm in writing mode. AND, same deal if going between guitar and keys - have to leave the guitar "unattended" in my lap when hands are on the piano. So bonus points for tele! 🙂. Yay! - plus Switching to electric mode, I actually think the tele electric mode had more bite than the strat (if what I hear on yer awesome video is accurate)...plus I got 5 strats to choose from if I want hard core electric strat LoL :-) .GReat comparison guys. This is exactly what I needed to see and hear. That woosh? Me scramming out the door to guitar center... 🙂

I’m so thankful for this review and demo! Visually I prefer the Jazzmaster. Tonally, I liked both the Jazzmaster and the Tele. The one thing that I find a little offputting is that the color of the forearm bevel is so different from the color of the top. There’s something so perfect about the outer body shapes of all the Fender guitars, and this little strip disturbs it. I think it’s why I’m most drawn to the “Butterscotch” color of the Telecaster-it is the one colorway where the color of the strip and the color of the top are most similar. I do appreciate why Fender added that bevel, though.

The Jazz is out for the optics I like least. Between the other two it’s a tight race. Will hopefully try them out soon. What makes the real difference to me between them is the dirty fender sound I love quite a lot. And having this in combo with large bodies full sound western guitars is very very appealing.

Good job, boys. Being a MOR singer/pop-rock player, I could probably live with the Tele one with mild overdrive for the occasional solo. You did a very comprehensive video of all three models on all of the 1-5 pup positions and A-B settings. The Tele model just seemed to have the acoustic tones that really caught my particular ear with its classic wood combinations, richness of tone and presence, although it sounded thinner than the Jazzmaster unplugged, no biggie. Others might differ in their opinions, no doubt. I guess I would have to try it with some pedals or on my tube amps with dirty channels to see if the feedback factor would douse the dream or be controllable, ha. I like the dual body contours of the Strat and Jazzmaster, but I think the thin-line aspect of the Tele body with its integrated forearm contour, compared to a full size acoustic, would nonetheless likely seem very livable/comfortable on stage. Also, the classic rounder body shape of the Tele upper bout and butt, and its diminutive headstock somehow looked more symmetrical and acoustic guitar-like to me also. I think it would just look more natural onstage for someone like me, who plays a little pop-rock, but came from a folk and singer-songwriter background mostly. The color options are a bit limited, but livable. The other two are real cool also in their own ways for various genres. The Tele just seemed the one for me.

The value I see in the Acoustasonic Player Tele is its relatively affordable price, so it can be my travel guitar for which I wouldn't cry my eyes out if it broke or got stolen. Then it's fine for couch noodling, even singing quietly or - plugged into the aux of a good Bluetooth speaker, even sing along normally to. It can be the perfect guitar recording tool on the road, and if you need to perform in a pub, you're covered again! So, versatility! You see, since I'm not a pro musician and don't travel somewhere specifically to perform, I'm not going to fly abroad with my Fishman Aura Ellipse-equipped Gibson J-45 Gala which costs 2.5 times as much as a Mex Acoustasonic. I am by no means a guitar expert, I played in bands a lot as a teenager and in my early 20’s and now I’m just about playing at home, writing and recording and having fun with it
I just picked up the jazz master and I have zero regrets and will easily become my main axe of choice going forward

Great video! Thank you for putting the sound of each side by side. I was in awe with the Jazzmaster 'cause it looks great (and because of the video where Lianne La Havas tries it) but in here, I think I like the sounds of the Telecaster!

I´d pick the PRS SE HollowbodyII Piezo. Yes the piezosound needs a tool like the Zoom AC3 to moddel a good sound. But then it´s outstanding.

Great demo. I like the Tele most, Jazz second. Strat not so much. I’ve been thinking about one of these now I’ll start looking for the Tele.

I’ll take the strat. I’ll run it on crunch if I want more gain on the electric channel. All sound good in acoustic modes.

They sound fantastic. I have the Tele and Jazzmaster. Played through a Headrush Core, they do amazing things. Only one guitar needed for gigs, acoustic and electric stuff. All guitarists in the audience that don't yet know the Acoustasonic ask me what I'm using to sound so good (and I'm only an average player).

I liked the fuller sound from the jazzmaster, but I’ll agree with the con on the jazz and it’s head dive.

Nice presentation guys, helpful. Listening remotely, I came away acoustically with the Tele being fuller and the Strat and Jazzmaster kind of a mid-range honk that is a little artificial. Electrically, I definitely felt the Tele shines. Probably because of my playing style. Electrically, the Tele could be still a good Nashville chicken pickin' wonder as well. I was hoping the Jazzmaster might be a good acoustic/electric blend for jazz solo. Ummm, not sure it's worth it for that. thanks again.

I wonder if the larger body of the jazzmaster would lead to a higher probability of feedback when using distortion or other pedals.

The Jazzmaster (with a Telecaster) is Julian Lage IMO. Could you invite him and talk about guitars, that would be awesome!

Jazzmaster for me: shape + fuller sound. I use a strap with mine so I haven’t noticed any ‘neck dive’ - indeed, I find it to be a nicely balanced guitar with great output when noodling unplugged, and great sounding choices when plugged in.

Im a telecaster guy at heart. I think the strat sounds the best. Jazzmaster definitely sounds the most different than the other 2. For me, I'd get the telecaster. It looks the most Nashville country and blues to me

Great compar-o video! The telejazacastostrater is clearly the best. But seriously, since I own the Telecaster model, I think it's the best, at least for me. It has the acoustic sounds I find most appealing and I just have a thing for the Tele shape. Maybe it's a mental disorder, I don't know. I wish I could get reparations from Fender for my Tele addiction (I own 5, including the acoustasonic). Comparing them unplugged is a study in which one sucks less than the others - but they all are a bit suck-y until you plug them in.

The Jazzmaster's position 5 Dreadnought modeling seems the most convincing to me - seems to have the most 'space' areound the low end, and 'shine' on the high end. For a player who gets coloration out of where the string is struck (as well as other sorts of touch-sensitive aspects of acoustic coloration), the Dreadnought modeling on the Jazzmaster provides the biggest sonic landscape upon which to play with those possibilities - just like a great big D-style acoustic. I chose the Jazzmaster because it was convincing when a Fender engineer said the large size of the body gave them more acoustic energy to work with. After hearing this shootout, I'm glad I chose the Jazzmaster (although I agree with Pete about the neck-heavy neck dive aspect (so I just use a strap)). Great shoot, guys - thanks!

Absolutely love this range. Would love to have any one of them, but I think soundwise I'd love the strat the most. But Pete makes an excellent point about the ergonomics.

This was such a concise, efficient review of all three of these guitars, back to back. Gotta say on the whole headstock weight distribution thing, though..... Do we just uhh... NOT talk about the SG anymore? That shit does literal FLIPS if you let it go: standing or sitting. Violence. Thank you so much for the comparison! Definitely saved myself some money (jazzmaster +12 or 13 electric strings will undoubtedly provide the perfect balance of sound and versatility, in my very humble opinion)

I think my pick would be the Jazzmaster. To me it seems to offer the best array of sound options with the humbucker. The Tele would be my second choice as, like Lee, the hole in the middle of a S type just doesn't look right to me.

I think the strat looks way better in the other colors. Sonic blue is my favorite. I like the tele sounds and options best. No rosewood dreadnaught on the strat is a miss IMO (and the blue strat is the one I own.) love it as a couch guitar, and you can play it into the Mustang micro studio pre-amp setting - works well

I’m hearing some very useful tones until the single coil or humbucker mods are selected.. then they seem to fail. Perhaps with a good modeler (Line 6 Helix, QC, etc) that would be fixable? Seems to me, the pickup native tones would be more usable in this format if they were installed at the neck? Oh well, cool gear for sure - with a ton of possibilities for live playing.
